Oh, not really. I just enjoy writing reviews for the dramas I watch and this was one of them. It’s structured like most of my other reviews. It didn’t piss me off, it was just a bit disappointing that it didn’t live up to expectations and it’s not one that I would generally recommend as there are other much better dramas out there.

I was never trying to be rude or mean, but I felt this drama lacked in a lot of ways and I tried to give a fair assessment of that. This is just my opinion though.

My understanding is that it is based on the Chinese novel and is not a remake of either drama.

First off, I stated that both couples had chemistry, even noting that I was impressed with Hsu and Taro's because of their age difference. I like both main characters, I just wasn't a fan of the way certain aspects were handled which I pointed out as I think working on those aspects would have improved both the characters and story.
I enjoyed the cameos of the actors I knew and I stated as much. I also stated that there were several of the side characters that I liked, I simply didn't feel like they were well utilized.
My review is not negative. I gave the show 8.5 stars, I said that I enjoyed it and I recommended it. I stated what I found worked well and what I thought didn't. I gave MY personal opinion.
Yes, I did enjoy the secondary couple of Ai Di and Chen Yi a bit more. I felt their story flowed better and I really enjoyed their characters. That is my prerogative and I will not apologize for it. As I said before, that doesn't mean I didn't like the main couple as well.
Everyone is going to have a different opinion, that is the beauty of reading the various reviews. Just because someone does not agree with you, does not mean you need to attack them.

Oh my gosh, I'm only 15 minutes in and about to bail. The comedy is so cringy and painful. If it weren't for the actors and characters, I would never guess this had any connection to Bed Friend.

He posted about it on his Instagram that he is moving away from acting to focus on real estate. It’s what he got his degree in. And it’s unlikely at this point, as a new graduate, that he’ll be doing any new series.

This is an extraordinarily ignorant and straight up rude comment. First, very few people are getting offended. The vast majority of people are expressing concern which is fair considering the fact that she deliberately dropped so much weight that her BMI was 30 lbs underweight. That is not healthy. You say that of course she gained all her weight back afterwards. Really? Where did you read that? I did some quick checking around. I couldn't find anything that said she'd regained back weight afterward. So you just assumed that.
Literally no one is throwing her under the bus, just expressing concern that this is even still a thing when we have CGI and makeup that makes it unnecessary damage for actors and actresses to do even have to do this. Because if you read about how they do this, almost none of them do it under any kind of medical supervision. They chain smoke and crash diet and do god knows what else to lose that weight in days and one or two weeks and in some cases cause irreparable harm to their bodies and they go to some very dark places mentally. On the one hand, yes, it is admirable that they are willing to do it for their craft, but it is NOT something we should be encouraging them to do and in this day and age when it is not necessary, it needs to stop.

I wonder if Max would want to move forward with it without Tul though? I think they would almost do better completely recasting honestly. Trying to create that same chemistry with a different lead generally doesn't work. Max and Tul had worked several several series together and had created these characters together so they just clicked. Having two new actors would make more sense because while the character would be a different iteration obviously, it would likely be more acceptable to audiences and there would be less drawing comparisons to Tul's acting. Just a smoother transition in general. Either way, I do hope it goes forward because both Triage and Manner of Death were such good dramas.

Tul has since announced his retirement from acting and now lives in New York so unless he made an exception for this, it will either be cancelled or move forward without him.

And in either case did you read what they said about that weight loss? Anne Hathaway said it put her in a very dark place and Natalie Portland thought she was going to die from the toll it took on her body. I don't know how actors and actresses outside the US do it, but most of them within the US do not consult a nutritionist because they are looking to lose a lot of weight in an absurdly short amount of time. They are extremely dedicated to their craft, but it is not healthy and some of them have had to deal with the repercussions of their actions for years after. It's a concerning trend.

-Cheum was a vastly underutilized character. I was so excited that there was going to be a woman as part of the main cast and as part of a lesbian couple, but was sorely disappointed at how little she was featured. I liked her enthusiasm and her loyalty to her friends. She was the most forgiving and understanding of the group. She wasn't perfect by any means, but in general I liked the way she could ground the other characters. It looks like she and April have a bright future at the hostel.
-Boeing was an intriguing, though rather last minute plot device. I'm still up in the air as to whether I liked the drama he brought or not. I do think his appearance was a little late in the game, but could have worked better if things weren't dragged out between him, Top and Mew so much. He's not seen again after hooking up with Boston, so good riddance!
-Yo and Plug were two more characters that were underutilized. Yo, in particular, intrigued me and I wanted to know more about her, but she and Plug just kind of popped up every once in a while and then disappeared for huge spans of time. In some ways, I wish they'd been relegated to more of a background position because I liked them and wanted more of them with so much going on, that just wasn't going to happen.

Haha, that's how I've been. My poor roommate has had to put up with me talking about it because I've been so engrossed. I'm rewatching it now and a second time does help with knowing all the characters and shenanigans going on. lol

This is one of the few dramas that I have no idea what to anticipate with the final episode. On the one hand, I'm guessing there's going to be a happy ending all around, but on the other, I kind of want it to end on the same chaotic note that it started with and that would mean not everyone gets their happy ending. Either way, I hope they do it in a way that makes sense and fits with the characters and story. I'd hate to see a repeat of last week with Sand acting out of character.

You're stronger than me! lol I have the same rule since I just cannot wait. I was anticipating this one so much though that I only lasted three episodes before all the talk broke me and I started watching. Enjoy the journey!

Haha, if it makes you feel any better, I've done that many times thinking, dang, this guy is hot and then promptly had to scold myself because, omg, he's like 10+ years younger than me and barely 20. lol

Mew is giving me whiplash. Top was giving me whiplash, though justifiably so. Either get together or break up, stop with this hot and cold nonsense. It's exhausting.

Nick, please be honest with Dan and stop stringing him along. That's just so unfair to him when he's a good guy. I am glad he was consistent though and didn't just agree to be Boston's boyfriend after telling Dan he wasn't ready. Boston being sweet was a bit weird, just considering his past, but also endearing. I do hope he and Nick make it.

Sand, wtf are you doing, sir? You literally just said that you can't live without Ray, but then you're throwing mixed signals afterward, just little moments like at the record shop where he seemed to be second guessing things. Do you want him or not, because that man would sell his soul for you. Kudos to him though for keeping things civil with Boeing while also trying protect Ray. Also, Ray is in rehab for drinking, so why the hell is he still drinking?! And I really wish he'd just be more communicative. Inviting Boeing over was just poking the bear and it's obvious it's making Sand uncomfortable. Just be honest, talk to your man! These guys are going to kill me.

Boeing was kind of interesting before, but now he's starting to annoy me with his games. He's just trying to ruin as many people as he can and I really want someone to squash him like the bug he is.

I have no idea how all of this is going to get wrapped up in a single episode.

1. Toss up between Sand and Nick. I really liked that even though Ray was ranting at him, Sand did seem to take what he said to heart. The fact that he seems willing to give up one of his means of income to help Ray says a lot for me. Nick had such dignity in this episode in regards to Boston and I loved that for him. He let Boston take the lead and didn't assume anything, I've really enjoyed his growth.
2. April would honestly top this list if there was more of her because she is thus far the greenest of green flags. I adore her love and support for Cheum and the way she seems to get along with everyone. I need more of her.
3. Cheum because she is one of the more balanced characters and I appreciate how supportive she is of her friends. She's not perfect, but she seems like she's willing to admit when she's wrong and she's more open to discussion and explanations, like when it came to Top. I wish there was more of her as well.
4. I know there hasn't been much of him, but I really liked Dan. Part of the could be because I'm also a fan of Papang and he's just so darn good in whatever role he plays. I was a tad apprehensive of his character when he first appeared, but he hasn't shown any red flags and seems like he's a genuinely good guy. I hope he stays that way and bows out gracefully.
5. I'm loving Boston's character growth. It's maybe a tad abrupt though there have been hints here and there, but I still like seeing it. He's such an interesting character and while he's made some colossally bad and selfish choices, I don't think he's necessarily a bad guy.
6. I was about ready to give up on Ray, and he ranks so low because I'm still not fully convinced he's done being a selfish ass. He's just so darn charismatic though that I can't totally hate him. I hope the changes he's making are real because he has been through a lot and he deserves to be happy, but he has to want it for himself and it needs to not come at the expense of others.
7. I haven't been a big fan of Mew since the beginning. I just find him generally boring. He had a few moments of interest after Top's betrayal, but the will he/won't he with Top has dragged on long enough for my taste and I'm bored with his indecisiveness and immaturity. I also just don't get his continued desire to get revenge on Top. Apparently using Ray wasn't enough and now he and Boeing are plotting together? Over it.
8. I'm very interested in Boeing's end game. He's jumping from guy to guy trying to convince one of them to be with him and I want to know what his plan is. Is he just out for revenge or is there more to it? I'm looking forward to seeing more of him next week.
9. Atom is a complete and total tool. Saw what happened coming from a mile away and I'm surprised that Boston wasn't more aware of it. The way he lied so easily and fluently was both horrible and impressive. I really want to see this come back to bit him hard!
10. Top gets last place simply because I truly don't care about him. The others, even if their character sucks, are at least interesting and keeping me invested. Top could disappear and I would feel nothing. He's just so bland. Sorry, Force, you seem like a decent guy, but after watching three of your dramas, I can confidently say that acting is not your forte!

Since Nick doesn't know Atom and thus there's no loyalty there, but does know Boston, I have a feeling he'd be firmly on Boston's side and he's obviously not easily swayed.

Oh, that's a good question! I want to say at this point, Nick's accepted that's just a part of who Boston is and since it happened before they reconciled, he won't take it to heart. That would be my hope at least, but I don't know if his possessiveness might come out too.

I was definitely surprised when the photos didn't give them pause in the slightest. They were obviously not taken when Atom was under any kind of duress. I'm hoping maybe once she's cooled down a bit, Cheum will confront her brother about it and the truth will come out. I think she'll be the most objective of the three. Mew's still too pissed because of what happened with Top, and Ray, of course, is going to still side with Mew no matter what.
