Be warned: a lot of flashbacks, back-and-forth time jumps. Confusing if you don't follow the episode closely. Lack of narrative explanation at the beginning, seems to me the drama expect us viewers to 'peel' the story as it goes. Female lead 'family' are SO FRUSTRATING. I swear I can barely kept my composure everytime the 'mom' was on screen. And the brother is just...ugh!
First time watching the second male lead . Their acting is ok, natural on screen. Story wise.... a bit unlogical and frustatring at times. An easy watch to pass time. Post production edits are good: I like the warm color tone and overall look of the series.
Whoever the music/sound director is...... he/she should be forever banned from doing drama projects. The music drowned the actors voice and overshadows everything else. Volume levels and song placements are horribly designed. Dropped thedrama mainly because of this and the boring story plot. Main female character is very composed but too stoic with no progress in story line in the 10 eps I managed to watch. A very.... boring unrequited love story.
shall i give it a try?this is so well rated...synopsis looks interesting..
U should! This is fully eng-subbed on Youtube if that helps. It's old and def not in sync with current drama / look trends, but the story is very good and actings are decent. The plot deals with heavy subjects tho. Old Taiwanese dramas spare no filter (unlike recent k-drama or c-drama)
Just rewatched the whole series after some years. Now that I'm older, I can appreciate and kinda understand the depth and complexity of each characters in this drama more than I had during the first run. A lot of heavy subjects touched and beautifully crafted here, great OSTs. Acting was relatively good and natural - I can watch the siblings banter all day. In retrospect, I think this drama was very advanced for its time and has a Japanese-feel to it (as it's adapted from a manga series) but is much more enjoyable and easier to digest than J-doramas for me. One of my all time favourite show and one I've come to appreciate more every single time I rewatch it.
Great acting shadowed by less than stellar dialogues: I personally find the script to be filled with filler lines, I got bored fast. Like I hate both MLs by ep 3. The only reason I kept watching the rest of the series was because this was the only K-series I haven't finished yet on Netflix.
I honestly laugh out loud when Seok Jin started bawling - so childlike. But then my eyes got teary too.... Those cries are just heart-wrenching. *sigh*
Totally agree with Jin Seok being selfish! URGH. But may be he had not want to part with the kid (or fought for the custody he might've lost as he's not the biological dad). He mightve waited until the kid gets older before divorcing his wife to ensure his stance in the kid's life; once the boy is older and have a better understanding of his parents separation.
How the hell does this thing get rated above 8? The whole production is low quality. The main female acting is cringy; effects are bad like 2012 low-budget animation works, etc. etc. Shame
Did not watch One and Only (not a fan of Allen; altho I adore Bai Lu). Saw Ci Sha's clips on Youtube and ended up watching the whole series haha. I find the main couple's too polite with each other, which is boring for me. They are more like housemates than a romantic pairing.... The Zhou family is hella messy, I'd hate to be involved with that nasty group. Second brother is a freaking robot whose scenes I skip diligently. So many mishaps happen to Bai Lu in this series, I feel like she should've ditch Allen at all cost, hoho. The only fresh air for me was WenXing and MeiXing.
Oh this drama is so stressful. The FL is so unlikeable, which is a really weird direction. The ML does some WEIRD…
I skim-watch the episodes and yeah I thought that guy just have double personality lol. Totally agree about the unlikeable FL - I get that she's had a tough situation but looking gloomy and moody and overall just being a downer really puts me off this series.
I'm sorry but the Ouyang guy makeup is.... too much(?) His eyeshadow, lipstick and foundation(or whatever thing they put on his whole face) make him look plastic-ish. Jasper's skin/makeup looks quite natural - which is good - how come Ouyang's looking super fake?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this drama. Am onto episdoe 15 already and still intrigued by how Gui Wan…
Hi! If I'm not mistaken, it will be revealed in mid to later episodes? The politics were messy with so many names/characters, I honestly had forgot about Gui Wan's case (till they brought the topic back later on). Watching this raw did not help either, hehe.
It is amazing business series. The best one I ever saw. Just it is hard to understand, as many things are happening…
Hi. Have you watched ep 38/39? Do you mind explaining the deal between XM and Presdnt Zhao? Does the president promise to pay off TK’s debt and let XM manage the land freely in exchange with him being the new GM? Thx in advance

So that means Yijin and Heedo didnt end up marrying each other, right? (the daughter isn't his)?
