i do really like liu yi fei and liu yu ning tbh. their voices are soothing, and i find admirable that LYN has been using his own voice for all his dramas!
since i don't speak chinese at all, i can't comment on how the lines are delivered/spoken but generally you are right of course.... haha but i admit out of your list i have only seen Ni Ni (Love and Destiny) and she was great. I need to stock up on some talented veterans it seems !! :)
I think the only actors that come to my mind that use their own voice more often than not (in recent years?) are Liu Yu Ning, Zhao Lu Si, Song Zu Er, Tan Jian Ci, Bai Lu, Liu Yi Fei, Yang Zi, Li Xian? (but some are more known for idol dramas I guess?) Thank you :)
isn't it sometimes out of their control though? I was a bit sad when I saw that Zhang Jing Yi is dubbed in Legend of Zang Hai, but apparently the director decided that? idk because usually, she does use her own voicešāāļø

i honestly figured as much... when she isn't sucking up to the male lead in front of his harem, the VA wasn't so bad, but the lunch scene in ep5 was really annyoing š generally, this VA has done a lot of dubbing over the years, so she's not awful, but I just don't think she fits the female lead in this show :(

personally, i have not seen a lot meng zi yi dramas (this one and blossom; the dubbing in blossom was a lot better) but sometimes dubbing just isnāt itš„“ i personally think that her VA doesnāt fit her tbh, regardless of her real voice ā i wish the voice wasnāt so high but a little warmer

i actually ended up dropping it, but i think the biggest let downs of the show are the script, mediocre directing and choppy editing. the lead actors are fine, but especially the female lead is done dirty by her voice actress at times. itās really all the technical stuff that makes the show bad to me because the actors and acting are fine, but theyāre stuck in this sub-par and cheap production that doesnāt do them any favors in my opinionš
But that would have been trying to cram too much in the episode and it would have felt choppy with unnecessary…
you know not everyone wants marriage and/or babies in their life. they can just be together without getting or being married, it doesn't take away from their relationship at all. such an ending doesn't make a show better

yeah, the script is only so-so. makes it feel like one of those web dramas with 2 minutes of runtime per episode lol no offense
