Really funny, surprisingly so. I’m not usually into slapstick but the fight scene had me rollin, especially with that music. Way funnier, smarter and sweeter than similarly-themed American comedies.
The central romance gets 11/10 for cuteness and chemistry (BongBong & MinMin 4eva!) but there were so many boring and poorly written filler scenes with Boss Tak, the villain and the doppelgangers that the overall rating comes down to 8.5 for me.
This drama would have been soooo much better if it was four hours shorter. I did really enjoy the beginning because it's well acted and written and beautifully shot. But if you find yourself bored at the half-way mark, don't be afraid to drop it and move on with your life.
I put off watching this drama for ages because I worried it might be cheesy and dated. When I finally got to it, I fell in love. It's not the most logical or innovative drama in the world, and yes the gender politics are a bit out of date. But at the same time it's completely hilarious, romantic and addictive. The chemistry between the leads is crackling, the plot is silly and a touch makjang at times but so fun and heart-rending. In a time of highly-produced, subtle dramas, its over the top cheesiness is surprisingly fun and refreshing. Definitely worth a watch.
Love this drama so much. Yes, the dream-concept could have been taken further and become more complex. But at the end of the day we have a surprisingly great performance by Suzy, an absolute discovery of a second lead in Jung Hae In, LJS doing all kinds of stupidly adorable stuff, and a compelling, satisfying conclusion that left me misty-eyed. Not every Park Hye Run drama can be better than the others, but she hasn't written a bad one yet.
I found it a little dry at first, but by episode 4 I was hooked. Gripping, complex, emotionally satisfying - Stranger is one of the best dramas I've ever seen.
Ahhh I love it! LJS and Suzy are both doing great, Suzy is definitely proving her haters wrong. Each episode so far has me on the edge of my seat, and the OST is soo good!
