Absolutely loved Joy of life and Zhang Ruo Yun's portrayal of Fan Xian and I am highly anticipating the next season.…

Go Ahead deserves a mention!
haha everyone is mentioning Go Ahead. I haven't watched it yet but now I regret I didn't put it as a honorary mention. :)

Someday or One Day is one of the best dramas I have ever seen, from any country and in any language - period.…
9/10 is already high enough for me. I have a peculiar standard for scoring a drama 10 out of 10. I would only rate drama 10 when it could make me cry while watching a drama because it rarely happens to me. For SOOD, although I loved it a lot, it couldn't make me cry, not sure its just because of the mood or the atmosphere. I highly recommend another TW drama called the World Between Us because its one of the few dramas that made me cry.

I've been out of the TW dramas for so long, that I wasn't sure which drama to watch to get back into it. But,…
highly recommended! I haven't seen anyone who didn't fall in love with this drama after watching it!

Circle is one of the best dramas of that genre. It is quite underrated. I had a good time watching Sweet Home as well although its def. not the best for me. I dropped both Angel's Last Mission and Tale of Nokdu. I haven't watched Flower of Evil yet but heard good things about it.

My must watch dramas for 2020 - Love and Redemption (Xanxia) - Fave drama from 2020, fave in this genre to date.Go…
Oh yes, love and redemption is one of the hit dramas of 2020 as well. I didn’t watch it because i am still quite skeptical about Yuan Binyuan acting after watching her previous roles in Listening Snow Tower and Ever night.
Go Ahead is definitely one of the better dramas of 2020 as well. I intended to watch it initially but I heard many were disappointed with the second half. Let me know if I am wrong. I do want to check it out because I love the three main actors.

The kidnapping game really surprised me. It was my first time watching zhu yawen and Jin Chen but both of them were really good and the chemistry was crazy.
I heard about Perfect and Casual but haven’t been able to start it yet.

YES! Love is Sweet is my favorite lol. If you ever ask for recommendations in the feeds, 10/10 times, you'll see…
Yeah, love is sweet is too sweet and easy to watch as well. Hiraku no Go is on my list. I started it a while ago but haven’t been able to continue it as much as I know it’s good. Maybe haven’t found the right mood yet :)

The title and cover matter less to me actually. I usually follow drama news, especially for K and C dramas, so whenever I discover a new drama, the first thing I look at is the story and the cast first, and maybe the trailer when it comes out. If the story is my cup of tea and the cast is also passable, I would put it in my radar and wait for reviews and comments (either in MDL) or on my twl. If the reviews are good or hint at something that is novel or particular of my interest, I will try the drama out. So, I won't normally watch it as soon as the drama comes out but wait for a couple of episodes unless it is a drama that I have been waiting for because I really like the story/cast (usually high-profile dramas like Novoland:Eagle Flag). Even then, like you mentioned, the mood is also very important, as much as I want to watch a drama because I like the cast, if I can't get into the story because the mood is not right, I would put it into on hold and come back later (or maybe not).
I would also look at the ratings if the drama is an older drama that has finished airing but again its not a critical factor as I mostly make my decision based on reviews and comments.
Subtitles, of course, are essential. There are dramas that I have put it in my watchlist but haven’t watched because of lack of subtitles. But, sometimes, I watch raw as well when I can't wait for the subs although it affects my enjoyment of the drama.

The plot overall was explored in a lot of movies and TV series so I can't say that it is unique, but I did love…
totally agree about Birdy's character, I was confused when he started avoiding Jia Han because I thought he was the one who would open up first.

Omg, Someday or One day in the cover photo. It has been the best Taiwanese drama so far in recent years alongside…
Like many others, I started my Taiwanese drama journey 10+ years ago, maybe even earlier than most with dramas like Lavender, West Side Story, 100% Senorita. But, my favorites from the classic dramas are definitely Devil Beside You and Why Why Love.

My C-drama journey started when I was very young with historical classics like My Fair Princess, Condor heroes and so on . There were a mix of HK, CH and TW dramas at that time showing on my country's TV channels that I didn't even know how to differentiate them ?. Then there came an era of Korean dramas and Chinese dramas became less accessible for me with no subtitles. My love for C-drama never faded but I started watching them more again with English subtitles since 2011 ..
