I'm smiling from ear to ear while writing this. Finally someone appreciates Queen of SOP as much as I do. I feel…
finally someone who loves Queen of SOP, maybe I was being a bit biased when writing this article because there are so many great dramas out there in this decade, but yeah, it is still one of my favorites if I look into the past
Watched 10 episode. These are my views. Lead actress is not good. She has one face. Angry face ( may be she is…
so far i have only watched 2 episodes but I dont think its that bad in terms of storyline, will see how it develops later. I agree with Cheng Xiao's acting, a bit stiff, after all, its her first acting project.
Buzzer Beat - the whole sort of not just triangle but quartet romance stuff keeps me from watching it, even though…
For Buzzer Beat, the love triangle thing was not a major part of it. Its a pity that Gank Your Heart was a letdown for you. I agree that it had lots of drama here and there and episodes could be shorter. Overall, I really like the theme and the characters though.
I wanna add some more to the list.. 1. Someday or Oneday (10/10) - brilliant time travelling piece with heartwrenching romance 2. The World Between Us (10/10) - deals with heavy issues like psychological disorders, cyberbullying, media ethics and every character is important and relatable and it stars Chris Wu too! 3. Nowhere Man (7/10) - dark, mature gangster action drama from Netflix starring Joseph Chang 4. In A Good Way (10/10) - set in college years, nostalgic but realistic portrayal of college romance, a bit older than the others
People who have already read the webtoon novel said the culprit is Baek himself (in comments down below , a few…
I dont think thats going to be true. He has been with SM all the time for recent murders, there's no way he could have done those murders himself unless they come up with a way to explain that.
Maybe S.Korea want to move on from romance-centric dramas. There is only so much they can explore with romance…
I don't think that's the case, it's true that they are trying out more genres apart from romance but it's also true that there are still lots of romance-heavy k-dramas (like CLOY, Tale of Nokdu and many more) and most of them just don't appeal to me anymore.
wow, i totally agree with everything you said, romance in K-dramas has really become too forced and unnatural.…
Someday or Oneday is definitely a drama that has it all; usually if a drama is really good at technical (plot) aspect, it would lack in romance department e.g Nine: Nine Times Travel. For dramas like Tomorrow With You, the love line is convincing but the plot is not that great. But, for Someday or Oneday, I really can't find a flaw.
I completely agree with your point that Kdramas are trying not to be kdramas anymore. They are starting to think…
wow, i totally agree with everything you said, romance in K-dramas has really become too forced and unnatural. In CLOY, even though the two leads have great chemistry, their love line seems unnatural, just falling in love because they should be falling in love. And YESS, I have been in SOOD withdrawal since I finished that drama. One of the best dramas ever, with a really heartwarming romance story, not to mention it has a really intricate and complex time-travelling plot written (I love time-travelling and I can say this is one of the best for that genre as well), it also has a very genuine, authentic and emotionally powerful romance plot. Love the three leada as well. Definitely recommended.
It also happened with me since one or two years back. I kept seeing a trend of dropping more k-dramas than I used to. I found K-dramas more and more predictable, they lost genuineness, becoming only about following trends and repackaging with formulas. For some popular dramas like Descendants of the Sun or Crash Landing On You, I found them really overrated, only using the chemistry of the leads as their selling point but the story is very mediocre. Just my opinion. I mean there were dramas that I really liked with great chemistry e.g. Queen Inhyun's man, I just couldn't find that level of romance in K-dramas. I am sure I haven't fallen out in love with romance genre because I still watch Chinese, Taiwanese, and some Japanese and even Thai romance dramas. I love the recent TW drama Someday or Oneday - its not a hot, sizzling kind of romance but more of a heartwrenching but also heartwarming kind of romance and it does not seem forced at all.
Great article, thanks, I was planning to write something about it when it ends but you beat me to it!! :) I really love this drama and the characters. IMO the best thing about this drama is that it didn't lose aspects of human connections while it is also well made in time travelling aspects I said this because sometimes, a drama becomes so good at technical (suspense, mystery) aspects like twists and turns, it kind of loses its emotional aspects, the characters became just plot devices to move the plot forward, just to showcase the twists and turns. But, for this drama, the characters are really fleshed out and raw and relatable. I agree that there are different stages of romance in this drama through different timelines - school crush, college sweethearts, long-term couples like you know the other person like the back of your hand, and the stage where all left is heartbreaks and agony . And whats more is the emotions displayed in each stage is so different and so real.
It's trending on MDL ! how's it ? number watchers did not convince me !
yes, mindblowing!! realistic and relatable characters, and great character development, very complex storyline with lots of twists but still emotionally convincing and heartbreaking, it's one of the best dramas I have watched in recent years, definitely deserves more attention!
