I think am just not going to continue based on these comments, I stopped at 42 and I think I will end it there. Am too invested in this drama and a shitty inconclusive ending like that will make want to shoot the air lol. I don't even get what the moral is here. What a load of bullshit! OMG! You watched VIP too? You can't imagine the frustration I felt while watching that drama. I felt like punching my laptop screen when the male lead face appear every single time lmao.

Affair is a complicated topic and have watched some "affair" kdramas where I actually understand some things I can't belive I could understand even though it was totally against my morals. There were few affair dramas I sympathized with like.. love affairs in the afternoon, on the way to the airport, one spring night. It goes against my morals but somehow I couldn't help to sympathize with this characters and wish them some kind of happiness even though they were the cheater (if you watch it you will understand)

BUT it wasn't the case in VIP because;
1. The husband had no tangible reason to cheat. His wife is Great (not perfect but nothing she did warrant cheating in all kinds of way)
2. Hearing about cheating is one thing, but witnessing it and being around your husband's mistress everyday at work is torture itself.
3. The asshole of a husband became irredeemable after taking the mistress side in front of his wife a couple times. I could empathize with the wife, it ripped my heart to pieces. (The umbrella scene was heartbreaking, I wanted to strangle him xd)
4.) The mistress was an absolute TRASH, she wasn't sorry for what she did, she just keeps manipulating him with her victim complex and unstoppable tears. Kneeling in front of the wife and begging for forgiveness and shivering everyday cuz of fear is not enough but the bitch still had the audacity to confront the WIFE. So I feel nothing for her, I could have felt bad or something if she was actually a good person. Shit happens - such is life but, when you ruin someone's life, you should have some kind of guilt and regret which the mistress didn't have.

P.S Love affairs in the afternoon is a great one. The drama proves cheating brings pain to everyone around you regardless of the reason for it, the cheaters absolutely suffered. Still, I cried with them and wished them some kind of happiness cuz they are genuinely good people. It just happened, they acted like criminals and felt sorry every single moment. + the relationship the cheaters have with their spouses is terrible and will make you understand the affair even if it's a bit.

I read a few comments on Youtube and weibo that they extended it to 49 episodes. Am not sure if that information is reliable though. I stopped at 42 so am just going to let everything end before I watch the rest.

There is Tv version which is different from the english sub version - Still the same cotent but compiled differently so one may be longer than the other. But, they may have actually extend the drama because its popular in china

Honestly I like them together and she doesn't seem to be totally uninterested in him (he makes her smile alot). I am becoming optimistic that Gu Xaiotang and Si yu will end up together - or atleast hinted at the end. The ordeal his family is going through will make him into a man and make him mature like Si yu wanted, otherwise, I don't see the point of that plotline.

Like.. I deadass liked him in story of minglan even though many didn't and I kind of understood and felt bad for Yanruo (the character's name) but here? Oh gosh! He annoys me to no end.

NO, am pretty sure that's not it. That will be an exaggerated plot twist lol. For the hypocrite he is, he has probably start discovering that she is not as kind as he thougt but doesn't have enough balls to confront her.

I strongly dislike Chen yiming mostly because of the fact that he is weak minded, chauvinistic and annoying. He always look insecure, rigid and pitiful but honestly his issue is that he has misplaced priority. He believes that if he gives someone lots of love and form a family, he will become happy and his life would be fulfilled. But he has been neglecting the fact that his happiness shouldn't depend on another person nor can it be obtained by a family. He needs to throw this obsession away and truly love himself and become happy first. He has to be happy and contented to make a family not make a family to be happy.

My blood boil everytime I see his face now lol - His acting is so good that am beginning to dislike the actor smh.

currently watching "To dear myself" and I loved it so far. l was looking for a similar drama to nothing but thirty and love yourself then I found this drama. I hope it's good.

Oh no! Hugging him happily was one of the best reaction ever and I would have done the same, he loved it too! Because I think the reason he was so anxious to tell her was that he was expecting her to be sad or look down on him etc. And remember she actually comforted him and told him it's not a big deal and that he is super talented so when the time comes, he will get a new job just like fate bla bla bla. Please, what else is she supposed to do?Also, who marries someone out of sympathy? Do you really think she will put her whole life on the line and marry him because she felt sympathy for him? She loves him and she was trying to be supportive to make him feel loved and needed in that moment since she saw how down and depressed he was. And am pretty sure he appreciated that too - he basically cried! I guess we comprehended the scene differently. Well, anyway... Happy watching! Lol
