At the risk of sounding morbid, did anyone else think too many characters had plot armor? lol When the reporter…
I agree with you. IRL, they really would have died but this is a series not real life so they get a pass. XD. I absolutely love this too and I am about to watch the last episode.

I wouldn't exactly say she becomes weak. Actually I don't think she regresses that much, she just doesn't progress.…
I am desperately hoping it turns out great because I really want to love this. The production is stunning and it's rare to see top tier historical drama like this but I just don't want to push my way through it despite not really liking the FL. And I don’t want to spend time on 60+ episodes and end up regretting at the end. I will read the potential spoilers you posted now :)

Came here to read some comments again after so long and I feel like dropping this at 30 something episode was the right choice. When I started noticing the Mary sue's trait in her, I knew this drama wouldn't be my cup of tea despite how much I love the production. Like.. heck! Even Budha isn't as kind and forgiving as Awu. You would think she would have smarten up after everything that happened to her. SMH. Her character is so unrealistic and unrelatable.

Episode 26 - in all honesty Xiao Wu was already quite an annoying character but this episode just made her worse,…
She just wanted to save Tang san. Also, objectively speaking, Tang san is more unreasonable than her and act crazy whenever it's anything involving xiao wu and he would have acted exactly the same as her or even worse(am not actually against it because its a result of how attached they are to each other). But, I hate how people always hold the male leads to lower standard and nitpick every little thing the female lead does.

I actually dropped The Untamed twice, before finishing it. It was my first c-drama and I just couldn't get over…
I don’t Really like missing out on a good drama, so if the special edition have potential, I will definitely give it a try!

Oh I see. Am not familiar with Douban ratings though - it must be good with the majority. I am not sure why it's not to my taste. I did gave it a sixteen episode chance so maybe some time in the future, I will try to get into it again and see how it goes because there are some dramas like that, that ended up actually becoming my all time favourite after almost dropping it (e.g story of minglan).
Oh! I also don't understand haters, I don't know why anyone would specifically go rate a drama they didn't watch 1 star because they don't like the actors or something LMAO. That's jobless culture

I know right. I don't know why I can't seem to get into the untamed though despite so many good reviews. My bias (that idols dramas are overrated) may be contributing to this :(

Ok, I have read so many reviews here and this is Indeed a proof of how different people's perspectives are.
I am really enjoying the drama so far, am at ep 20. It's not that deep to me - maybe because have watched too many heavy Wuxia and Xianxia lol but I am really enjoying this. I am the type that usually dislike annoying Female characters especially whiny and mothertheresas but Xiao wu did not annoy me. I like her! She is fierce, cute, brave, and well a little clingy lol but I NEVER find her annoying - maybe because I watched this with an open mind and had no expectation before watching neither have I read the novel or whatever this is based on.

Oh, I actually didn't want to like this drama or expect to like it but I do. Because the male lead is popular so, I just assumed most of his fans probably gave this high ratings on viki even though the drama may not be as good (the reason I rarely watch Idol drama) but am glad I chose to give this a chance. I tried watching Untamed and actually put in effort to like it due to my friend's pestering but I didn't. I ended up dropping it at episode 16.

PS: I still didn't tell her I dropped it lol.

Lastly, everyone's opinion is valid and we all have the right to rate and comment whatever we think about a drama whether positive or negative but I want to point out that our prior opinion of a character's behavior in the novel or novel itself may influence how we feel about the drama because it might not match what we wanted which may lead to people being dissapointed or underwhelmed with the performance in the drama.

Am about to rewatch this for 7th time lol. I can't believe I considered dropping it when I first watched it. In hindsight, that would be a lifetime of regret that I wouldn't even be aware of :)

I am going to rewatch this one. I really can't find anything as good as this one and im in the mood for this kind…
Sound of the desert is up there with Minglan for me.
Battle of changsha too if you can watch war* drama. Princess Weiyong was great, Love and destiny is a xianxia but personally one of my all time favourite Xianxia.

she does have kids with the emperor and their first son ascends to the throne when the emperor dies later on.
OMG Same! Like... I can deal with marrige for a while but I can never deal with intimate relationhip that includes many children together (especially with his best friend's girl smh). Even if they later get back together, it doesn't make sense anymore.

The characters are too different. Minglan tries to be scheming...... but she takes forever in the world to do…
OMG! A drama can be good! It's an easy psychology - more positive reviews = more chance the drama will be good. I don't care about whatever kind of bias you wrote above there that have never heard before lol. When you want to watch a drama, don't you read the reviews to get the idea of what the drama is about. Of course it's not 100% but it's accurate to some extent. Also, for any kind of bias to occur, there will be some underlying reason, what's your explanation of Minglan watcher's bias? Why would we bias. Do i know the director or what?. You were unable to say what's so bad there.

All these conspiracy theory you are saying are backed up with 0 fact.

The characters are too different. Minglan tries to be scheming...... but she takes forever in the world to do…
LMAO.. no offense but this is ridiculous. People don't often drop by to talk about little flaws dramas have. Unless the character make some huge dumb mistake/decision - they come to the comment section to voice their dissatisfaction. Since many people said positive things about it, that means the drama is as good - it's not like there is an idol actor or unbelievably handsome one there that make people bias and lie about how good a drama is. And I have seen people talk about how the drama is not their cup of tea that it's too slow (that's understandable).
Also, what "lots of flaw" is there in Minglan that is worth talking about?.
Peace out though. I don’t really want to argue but what you just said pissed me off. It's odd because the comments are similar? Of course it's gonna be similar because we watched the same drama or do you have a conspiracy theory that the commenters are clones? Lol
