Personally, story keeps on unraveling so you will definitely be hooked for good or bad. Too much talk about tea and its significance which I don't really vibe with...and most characters has their "green tea" scenes...just binged it...capital arc(last 5 or 6 ep) was too much blabber and inhouse drama

I'm only at ep16...but to my understanding consort jin was the consort of emperor. Crown prince sexually assaulted and killed consort jin, so he committed suicide. That's was the framing. I don't remember the names exactly so excuse me if I'm wrong

I'm at Ep 16 and I got one word for the confession - "EFFICIENT" no waiting and protecting her from the shadows and silence, no misunderstanding for enemy spy or something just straightforward bulldozer confession. Honestly I was getting bored as the first two cases both involved affair and infidelity, and third case being inefficient and not so prudent as previous ones, if they didn't speak their hearts in that confession and prolonged the push and pull game I would have been utterly disappointed

Lol he listened to CZ's BS and actually took all further decisions based on that. I don't like CZ, but still CZ was wrongly exiled. The king devised the strategy, He Yan doubted the strategy right to his face, Xiao Jue acknowledged it was King's tactics to balance power.

I liked the story and pacing...not too much thriller elements, you can always almost predict the plot but still it was enjoyable

I partly agree with your point...but the prison break obviously had lot of blood shed and ML very well knew how it is going to unfold when he swapped the letter and the gui seal heist from palace. I get that he is there to avenge and I am all in, but I would rather have ML accept all the consequences than him having spout his righteous principles of protecting innocent lives only to go against it. As someone else pointed out this is similar to Nirvana in fire in many aspects. I couldn't help but compare both, leads in NIF had their personalities and goals set clearly and I guess I expected that from the leads here...

ML of these revenge stories be hypocritical...how many low-level guards and messengers and by passers are dead as "collateral" while avenging his family...
