Title Blood Rain
beware, it's graphic (duh, they didn't name it Blood Rain for nothing). May contain:
but it also provides an insight into paper making business with a bonus of shamanic rituals catered for paper mill bosses (all in paper robes!), so my inner nerd is happy.
Also, Cha Sung Won doesn't overact like he tends to do in dramas, so I've proven a point to myself that he's a better actor than his roles. Double yay.

Title Blood Rain Spoiler
beware, it's graphic (duh, they didn't name it Blood Rain for nothing). May contain:
many torturous killings shown in detail, infected wounds going bad, decapitating hens, getting stuck in a well, angry mob with spiky objects going full Ides of March, some despicable human beings in particular and worse side of human nature in general, and general feeling of deep psychological anxiety and unsettlingness. Yeah, and it rains with blood.

Yes, the curse! I wish it was a movie or a mini series instead. I liked it at the beginning, but it takes forever…
/second-hand spoiler from eps 11-12(?):

I read in a spoiler above that it moved forward recently and they're at least getting their memories back. But on the other hand it turned out to have four more episodes, so it may get even slower to get through.

I see I wasn't the only one having troubles to get along with Jung Hee (I stuck around ep 3 for quite a long for that reason). Here's an idea. What if the crude comparison of one girl being all annoying flaws with little to redeem them and the other nothing but perfect isn't that crude afterall? Hear me out.
Just like the drama offers a nostalgic view on the past, Jung Hee isn't a standalone person as much as an embarrasing memory of past self. She's that existential facepalm of seeing from the perspective of years how petty, shallow and clueless we were once. The same feeling that makes people shred their diaries and hide old pictures. With that in mind, doesn't the idealisation of Hye Joo make sense, too? Rather than a person of her own, she's presented in a way Jung Hee (both past and present) could perceive her.

According with some souces, the award is called "Best Production Director". Its encorpates production and direction.
I don't think it's true. Production Director is what PD stands for. It's one person (producer).

Title Return Spoiler
Is this a thriller/murder mystery type drama? I have no idea what to expect of this and whether to check it out!…
We didn't get to see that much of the main two (lawyer/MC and policeman) so far, the first episode mostly focused on the group of family/friends in their 30s and their close neighbourhood, all super wealthy and snobby. A nest of snakes save from Jung Eun Chae's character. She's a housewife with a small daughter now, but graduated from a law school very young and considers going back into law. Everything seems perfect on the surface, but her husband (Park Ki Woong) has an affair. Things go awry, his lover is found dead and he's the suspect, but is he really the one that killed her?

Tags are true, it's a mystery/thriller/suspense/investigation, maybe a bit of noir? Gritty, fast paced, stylish. Not makjang. I can't describe it well without going into things that could be considered spoilers. /below:

I can already tell it's going to be very good if it stays this way. Kdramas can be so interesting when they take a plunge from typical romcom storylines and don't jumble genres mindlessly.
(also: was Jung Eun Chae always this stunning?)

/the synopsis can be misleading. I was going to pass this on as another of those high school dramas. Long story short, children are grown-ups.

I was reading about the characters and it says the male lead was betrayed by his guardian and the guardian's daughter.…
If you want for her to betray him, I don't think it happens here. She is the guardian's daughter indeed, but she has no active part in making him feel bad. Do you want me to be more specific?

This is so imaginative haha ~
no, quite literally, the shape of the screen was changing from circle to square to full rectangle constantly. Maybe there was some pattern to it (like, narrow horizon at the village, I don't really remember), maybe not. I don't hate the idea itself, but somehow it was hard to get through back then.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. As i was watching the episode, I couldn't help but feel that he was a little…
Maybe he was just proud of himself for putting puzzle pieces together and having an advantage? Now he can either have a hidden card to negotiate a better deal with the photographer or include him in a scheme to pay the Monkey back (or both!).

Title The Great King, Sejong Spoiler
...will I finish it first, or will the only website it's available on fry my poor laptop with viruses first. I…
1. I can't figure Prince No 2 out though. Did he get a character transplant after the timeskip, or is he putting a very good front?
2. Sadly, Choongyeong is one of less nuanced characters. Great King is the name, but he'd really use a flaw or two asap. A real flaw, not 'he's too noble for this world' kind. Otherwise it may turn too preachy to stomach eventually.
3. ...whoever thought it's a good idea to make 'lo- love-u check-u lovu-lovu' their lyrics? Tell me it's a homophone and it makes any sense in Korean.
4. I can imagine why someone decided to make a 50 episode spinoff on Young shil, given how little we see of him here. Being a come and go character he gets to be delightfully jaded and honest, compared to how statuesque some of main characters are.
5. I need to know whether the mute gender-bending painter will turn out to be what SSK was in Deep Rooted Tree.
6. Can we get over with Liaodong plot soon, pleaaase.

Beware Thevideo server on dramacool (my son), especially for episodes 12 and 20 (or any episode that shows a low runtime). The files are broken and possibly infected.
//26? not cool, that one was important. ///31 again, after beard-growing timeskip and major reshuffling in the court.

Still worth it. It fills the void of not-so-satifying ending of SFD for me. Excellent drama if I ever saw one. Don't blink, show not tell type of series catered for viewers willing to stay focused, think for themselves and put hints together. Doesn't overexplain schemes nor overtalk events to make sure we got it. Instead, it often suspends what is told explicitly to leave space for implications, so you need to constantly remember what's everyone up to and how they're connected, how every event can influence the rest. It's very chess-like (if that makes sense): in every given point you can feel the possible moves around you (and where they lead), but there's also a linear drive that shapes it all together.
Very cinematic, time-efficient directing free of redundancies. Even flashbacks are used sensibly (and quite sparsely). Just like the reviewer says, characters aren't just pawns grouped in rooms around few central figures, but they all have distinct personalities and goals. There aren't even clear factions so far, everything is fluid and changeable, which makes it a stimulating watch. Doesn't rely on cheap misdirections and shocking plot twists for the sake of plot twists alone, but weaves an intricate network based on lifelike character growth with a clear endgame in mind.
I often have troubles getting into older dramas, but this one watches itself and it's not even that dated visual-wise.

I hope he's only there to active Jelly Time level, not to join 'can I have a bite' party, but I saw he's getting a mixed feedback on other sites. I'm not getting those vibes from him, but then again I want for her to have at least one genuine person around her, so I'm biased here. One thing for sure, he certainly follows Hongs pattern with his pick-up strategy (we wandered together when you were in a coma and now I finally found you -- I'm gonna film Okja as a tribute to my first love).
