On Strangers Again Feb 5, 2023
This comment section is rife with people who lack the maturity to watch this show with a clear lense. I'm really enjoying it so far, and this drama will undoubtedly be another victim of fickle viewers giving it low ratings because it doesnt align with their perceptions on relationships. The story so far, is refreshingly normal. I have friends who divorced for the same reasons, and others who find themselves in the same communication break downs with their partners. Its life. Its not always a dramatic affair, or a life-altering event. Sometimes its the day to day monotany that whithers a person away. I always feel like MDL reviews on these types of realistic romance dramas, or dramas that may or may not have an affair, brings out the most judgemental/conservative/immature people. TLDR; SKIP right on over these comments and watch it yourself. 🙄

I'm utterly obsessed. The intro is also really stimulating; reminds me of a more western-style HBO series opener. The cinematography is gorgeous and reminds me of The Longest Day in Chang'an (as WesternPeace mentioned below), and the visuals are delicious (Jing Bo Ran, where have you been all my life!). As others have mentioned, the drama apparently suffered from a series of large cuts, but honestly, had I not read that here, I wouldn't have noticed. I think it was done tastefully, and the story has been very smooth thus far. As for chemistry, it's oozing between Lan Jue and Wang Yan, but I am noticing it between Lan Jue and Zhang Ping in Ep 9 and 10. Having Lan Jue look into the water and needing to allow Zhang Ping to see into his innermost self and how they looked at each other before they began was *very* intimate. P.S. More scenes with Lan Jue's hair down, please! My goodness gracious, what a fox.

The production value of this show is up there with The Longest Day in Chang’an
YESSS. That drama is top tier.

this is very random but i wanted to know, is it just me who thinks Cheng Yi & Li Hong Yi look kinda similar? lmfao
I just came off Blood of Youth and came here and literally was like, "how'd his pics make it into the wrong drama album." They could very easily play brothers.

Title Legend of Awakening Spoiler
The first drama I watched Chen Feiyu in was Lighter & Princess. He was a fantastic actor and stole every scene…
P.S while the wigs are a little silly in this, he happens to look so handsome with his. He looks gorgeous in white/cream. Side note- my only true negative with this drama so far, is that the FL is a terrible actress (the dub actress is trying her best, but there's only so much she can do with a completely flat performance). Chen Feiyu also has much better chemistry with the maid servant and I find myself shipping them instead (or with him and his non biological "sister").

Title Legend of Awakening Spoiler
The first drama I watched Chen Feiyu in was Lighter & Princess. He was a fantastic actor and stole every scene he was in. It got me hooked, so I started watching Ever Night, which seems to be a fan favorite. It's been so fun watching his acting journey (starting from his latest). He was a natural actor in Ever Night, although his performance wasn't always great (understandable as his first leading role). In just a few short years, his performance in Legend of Awakening has improved so drastically that I often re-watch some of his scenes (just finished Ep 16/17 when his master dies after they've fallen off the cliff; I thought his performance was excellent). Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun watching this drama; low budget and sometimes nonsensical plot included.

That's a shame about Huang Xuan. I just finished watching him in Luoyang and was enamored by his acting. He has some of the most emotive eyes I've ever seen (they're also very pretty). His emotional scenes in Luoyang gutted me. This drama is next up on my list, so I'll look to your points.

giving Chen Feiyu extra credit for being so naturally good in his first lead drama role. That said, his demon scenes are BAD. lol. The acting just falls apart. The crap special effects don't help, but it was 2018, so I get that is A LONG TIME in special effects years.

watching it for the first time. I Love Chen Feiyu in this. I just came off watching him in Lighter & Princess where he shows a more mature size (with more polished acting), but he's really fun in this. His sassy attitude is great. I don't give a flying fart about Prince Long Qing. Got so tiredddd of his storyline, just FF through his scenes.

Title The Interest of Love Spoiler
Me too they end up together in the novel hoping they don't change it
that would be FANTASTIC. At this point at the end of Ep4, I feel like the FL is a bad fit. He's always pursuing and apologizing to her (when he hasn't really done anything wrong) while she projects all of her insecurities and hesitation onto him (but has the audacity to be critical of him when he spends time with the 2ML) its infuriating. She doesn't deserve him.

Soo Young is overprotective of her heart, and cold toward Sang-soo. I understand her hesitations; some of it is ingrained from her upbringing and some through her experiences and hurt from those around her. At the same time, I find her to be way too cold and harsh toward Sang-soo. The more she yearns for him and thinks about him, the harsher she is toward him, and it's old. He chases her, he speaks his truth, he confesses, he makes a fool of himself trying, and she's a stone wall who lashes out at him over and over. So over her.

He looked amazing in LBFAD
Sooo true. The costumes in LBFAD were exceptional as well. Textures, color, drapery- it was all so very flattering on him. AND THAT WIG. T_T I miss it.

ML has wayyyy more chemistry with Mi Kyung (2ML) than with the FL. I'm on Ep 3 and was smiling ear to ear during their ice skating "date."

Dylan looks gorgeous in every one of these outfits. Costume dramas suit him. The last time I was this enamored by a ML in costume drama outfits was Wu Lei in Love Like The Galaxy and Xiao Zhan in The Untamed.

I will never understand people saying a Chinese drama is a drag during the 1st phase of the storyline (ep 1 -…
Had I had that same judgement for Love Like The Galaxy, I would have missed out on my all time favorite c-drama (because IMO it didn't pick up until around Ep 12. Until then, I was bored to death). SO glad I didn't drop it prematurely. Plus, those initially "draggy" episodes ended up being the foundation that made me care so deeply for the characters plight later on.

ok, I LOVE them. For anyone worried about the FL, DON'T. She's hysterical and her facial expressions are on point. They have great chemistry. Yes yes yes. New obsession, YAY

It's not a good drama? I have it on my list but I haven't watched yet
I *LOVED* Bulgasal. Literally couldn't stop watching it, and the OST is gorgeous (listened to it on repeat for weeks). Definitely give it a shot, and don't let 1 comment dishearten you.
