Title Have a Crush on You Spoiler
Throughout the entirety of their relationship, I've seen that he does love her. He's selfish and takes her for…
I don't agree; the last few episodes delved deeper into their relationship psyche than they've ever gone. They have a ways to go still, but I imagine we're getting there. It's not "just" a confession, it's his perceived lack of sincerity that she was bothered by. It's not "just" a marriage certificate, it's his inability to authentically commit from the heart instead of treat their relationship like a transaction (again, the story is told from her POV, so it may be narratively misconstrued). It's not "just" a proposal, it's a promise to her that he'll treat her as an equal and put her interests at heart, for a change, by giving her something she's asking for despite being against his better logit as a pragmatic planner. She's made her expectations clear and conveyed that on the rooftop and beforehand in his bedroom when they fought over his "Proposal Package A." He's learning to meet her halfway but is also struggling with a lot of deep-seeded trauma from the way he was parented, and his fears as a partner and father. We watching the same drama?

Interesting. How's the romance? Any love triangles? Happy ending?
Romance is good (steamy/real kisses); no love triangle (FL and ML have people who like them, but it's not at all mutual); yes

Ep 21 she discovers the marriage proposal package and it completely upsets her. Realistically, why? Hes pragmatic to a fault, and so non-romantic, his default tone is "lecturer", yet shes expecting him to conjur a romantic proposal? He did something he knew she would appreciate, for her sake and happiness, despite not finding value in the ritual himself. He has remained steadfast in his thinking regarding romance and she expected a full 180? I still understand her and the wish she has that he'll change and suddenly grow legs that show sincerity, affection, and romance, but its a little bit unrealistic, especially at this point

Ep 13 - He was sweet here. He works hard, separates his emotions as best he can from work, and it consumes him entirely. Relentless studying and work while his colleagues watch the performance. No sleep, not eating- just all-consuming, merciless grit toward the point of exhaustion. Why? To save his patient's life. It's not sentimental, but it's everything it needs to be.

Throughout the entirety of their relationship, I've seen that he does love her. He's selfish and takes her for granted, but he loves her. He may not even know it himself. He must learn to break down those barriers within himself and *reach her*. Hold her. Cling to her. *Tell* her he loves her. I'm sure this is part of the journey we'll be taking on with them.
On Have a Crush on You Feb 21, 2023
I'm on Ep 9 and want to hug Liu Zheng. I empathize with her grief. That incomprehensible loneliness while the person you love is beside you. The flashes of the life and the treatment you desperately cling to but know you'll never get from your partner the way things are. I also feel bad for Zhi Qian. He's going through something inside and cannot articulate it or share it with her because he can't even figure it out. It's like there's a wall built within himself after he was left and cheated on, and he's unsure how to fix it and maybe too scared or insecure to let it get fixed. As always, since this is an adult perspective on an adult relationship, the nuances and complexities of human beings, and the morally grey areas that come with building a relationship with flawed people, are lost on the commentators of MDL. Surprise, surprise.

ML is so hot and he is such a good actor, his crying scenes are great! O.o
amen to that.

Finished it in 1 day. Yes, 1 day. I'm so sad it's over. This drama made me a die-hard Fan Zhi Xin fan. My goodness, can he act, his angst scenes are CHEFS KISS. He needs more lead roles. I thought the lens flares, the plot holes, and the FL's best friend were annoying as all F, but I'm otherwise very happy with the drama. It serves me exactly what I wanted (bad ass ML with angst, sad story who can cry VERY prettily).

Review My Lethal Man
I don't really see this: "when the male lead feels vulnerable, you don't see it right away, but you see it with…
I saw it. I think it was articulated a little weird by OP, but I agree that the actor did a great job conveying his emotions through his body language. The scenes she's referring to, were later on when he's essentially folding his entire body into her (despite their large height difference), or how he'd bury his face into her neck. Like he was seeking her closeness and her embrace like a small child, wanting her warmth and affection to heal him. When he was sitting down later, it also looked very small and child-like to me. Especially when, earlier in the drama, the FL's mother chastised her for sitting on the floor like that, because it's how children sit, not adults. Ridiculous over-use of lens flares and filters aside, I thought the MLs performance alone, carried the drama. I hope he leads more dramas going forward.

Person Fan Zhi Xin
He reminds me of Wang Haoxuan (Xue Yang from The Untamed)
Same!!!

The visual of his younger self in Ha Ra's arms paints the picture perfectly. I empathize with him because that trauma is difficult to separate from. His fear of having a child isn't something to be played with over monetary throats and guilt trips.

My heart hurts for him. His childhood is painful; he's the victim of his mothers neglect and abuse, but he lives with the trauma and guilt from that incident his whole life. Terrible.

Ha Ra getting Eun Bom's mom to blackmail him with a building to have *a human being* pissed me TF off. What an immature, selfish, unbelievable thing to pull on him. Ha Ra and his mother don't deserve him with that dirty trick.

"It was all my scheme" blah blah "I enticed mother with the plan." You do like money. I thought you would do it for that." "Aren't you going to accept my apology?"

What apology, Ha Ra? Where TF was the apology? No sincerity, just "well, i thought it would work because you like money." Yuck.

It hurts me too that his voice always seems to be dubbed - I think his voice would be a lot better suited here.…
I'm wondering same. His voice is so deep and wonderful to listen to in Autumn Ballad. Wonder why they couldn't just leave it for this one. He's the shifu, is he not? Shifu's can have deep voices.

I'm having trust issues these days soooo.. Wonder if the name of the show's implying they'd breakup again :(
I think it implies they're re-learning who the other person is, this time at a deeper, more vulnerable level. They were strangers before they got married and divorced, and they're strangers now, trying to find their way to each other again. At this point, they still have a lot of work to do to communicate with each other.

I'm on Ep 22, and the gayness is on a whole other planet; I love it so much, lol. BL ban be damned. I don't even care if the writer thinks her book is entirely hetero. Don't tell me the jealousy Zhang Ping had in this episode was on a normal scale, the dripping affection Lan Jue had for Shulin was on a normal scale, the PINING Zhang Ping had while Lan Jue was away was on a normal scale, the bitchy looks Shulin and Zhang Ping had when they were first introduced was on a normal scale. Can't/convince/me. Lan Jue's got so many boys pining for him, our man is fed (and if you tell me there's no way he could be gay or bisexual because he had a wife and has a kid, you're probably too young to watch this drama).

How bad is this? That quack Avenue X won't even be bothered to mention this drama in her videos.
I gave up on her when she completely shat on Love Like The Galaxy, which I consider my all-time favorite Chinese period drama. She hated it and just talked smack about Wu Lei the whole time. . I also heavily disagreed with her comments about Jing Boran's acting and her lukewarm commentary on the cinematography for A League of Nobleman. I was very impressed by it. She's lost all credibility with me and injects her bias' too much.

Agreed with Claddagh. I think she's intentionally made to be an unreliable narrator.
