Agreed. There are always 2 sides to everything but drama writers will never please everyone. Especially when there is source material people are passionate about.

Yeah, the Han Shuo hairdo is not my favorite, haha. I'm tired of the braided updo. It looks like his next drama has the exact same hair AGAIN. I just want to see Love You Seven Times T_T

I've heard many people say the novel was one of their favorites and a lot more despicable and dark. From what I've seen discussed here and on Tumblr, many novel lovers particularly disliked the drama's comedic and light turn on very dark characters.

This drama makes me C R A V E Love You Seven Times a thousand times more. This drama wastes Ding Yu Xi's obvious talent (his facial acting and microexpressions are nearly unmatched, in my opinion), but the dubbing is awful and doesn't match him. This drama is a waste of his visuals, too (how many times is he going to wear that stupid braided updo and variations of white outfits). Love You Seven Times looks incredible already, but I'm especially excited to see him cleansed of that look for good after seeing him look identical in 2 costume dramas in a row (this and Romance of Tiger and Rose).

Yes, two that I can think of - Something in the Rain, and One Spring Night. Both Kdramas, both with the same male lead (Jung Hae In).

I'm enjoying this drama but Shi Che is meddlesome and annoying AF. (On Ep11).

Hahahaha. You misunderstand me, the more Deng Wei's character suffers, the happier I'll be. I love a good angsty story.

Ep previews from 26 onward look pretty angst heavy but it seems to get better by 30 (just judging by previews)

As much as I love our CP, I'm most excited to watch our 2nd CP/2nd couple after falling in love with Deng Wei in Journey of Chong Zi. He was the only reason I kept watching Chong Zi.

Yeahhhh. Ep 16 and onwards were played on FF. Big ole yawn fest. Lmao

Yea, seriously. All the fun and originality disappeared after like Ep 5 or 6. Also, the dubbing got worse? Especially with the FL. Every time she laughs or cries, it's shrill and grating. I love Ding Yu Xi (even when he's unfortunately dubbed too) and I'm just holding out for Love You Seven Times, where his styling is about a BILLION times better.

I wish they'd give us more Ning Yu Xuan with his hair partially down (or in the pony tail) like in the first few episodes. Man, that was a lewwwwk. His hair up with the braids reminds me too much of his last drama (Tiger and Rose).

All caught up, still really happy with it so far.

So sad they dubbed Chen Xingxu. Still, gorgeously made drama that ripped me to shreds.

It's too bad they didn't use He Chang Xi's real voice. You can hear it in Painted Skin and Wuliang. It's raspy and gorgeous. Maybe the rasp makes his character sound more ambiguous, and they want that solid, trustworthy, advisory-sounding voice? Lol. No clue, but there's nothing wrong with his real voice.

weird ass editing (and terrible green screen off the cliff) of the 1st episode aside, im liking it, so far.
