I'm wondering if it's how the character is written or purely Hou Minghao that led to the wishy-washy acting performance. I've seen him in other dramas, and he can be fantastic. He's also not short on praise from cnets for his acting. I could see your criticisms (the weird constipated face he kept wearing was strange, indeed). That being said, his styling in this drama is almost offensively beautiful. I bless the person who chose that wig for him. G-o-r-g-e-o-u-s.
This was one of my most anticipated dramas, but the first episode grated me. The giant fight move titles, the song the father sang before he passed (which I understood was supposed to be a memorable, sad moment, but it fell very flat and gave me 2nd hand embarrassment), and even the CGI for the fights, which feels like I'm watching Disney on Ice, not a fight scene. It felt like it tried to be stylistically like The Blood of Youth but lacked the right artists. I adore Xu Kai, and I'm still really excited about the storyline, but can anyone please tell me if this...Power Ranger- esque style calms down, and it gets a bit more serious? I have so many other dramas in my queue, so I'm just..not sure I want to invest the time if this is what I'm getting.
What Kudo said! But also, his role in Shoot My Heart was so very different from anything I've seen in him and…
that's fair! not everyone will like him. I can see what you're saying though (the stiffness). I just think, at least for him, the stiffness kind of works
I still haven't warmed to Lee Min Ki. The dramas I've seen him in he just seems stiff. But I'll give this a try…
What Kudo said! But also, his role in Shoot My Heart was so very different from anything I've seen in him and it was great. He plays an energetic, frenetic, gremlin type personality that causes a lot of trouble but connects with another patient (Yeo Jin Goo) and they bond over their experience together
Have they provided an explanation in S3 for the absence of Do In Beom, Yun Seo Jeong and Kang Dong Joo? I haven't…
Do In Beom was briefly in S2. Yun Seo Jeong and Kang Dong Joo were both mentioned several times throughout S2. Dong Joo was in the military, and Seo Jeong was stateside doing an exchange program. They mentioned they were "coming back next year" and we're only 4 episodes in, so *hopefully*, they'll expand on that or give us cameos.
Ate through this season SO FAST. By and far better than S1, IMO. Compelling characters and great chemistry between…
The "villains" of this drama are truly despicable. Haven't watched a drama in a long time where the antagonists get under my skin as much as they have.
By and far better than S1, IMO. Compelling characters and great chemistry between the core medical crew and the romance lines; OST is more subtle and complimentary (no more over-the-top orchestral music to make me feel like I'm watching a makjang), and the new FL and ML are more complex and interesting. I adored this season. Can't wait to watch S3.
watched the first 10 epi of S1...... kinda know what the rest of the season will be so skipped the rest and started…
Lol I did the SAME thing. Got 14 episodes into S1 and felt like i'd seen it all and moved onto S2. I'm starting S2 today (huge bias toward the ML as well). Excited to see how it's different from S1.
I on the contrary think they showed his reasons and process on screen extensively enough for the viewers to be…
I agree with this wholeheartedly. I also think his therapist was absolutely shit at her job. She was argumentative, combative, and selfish. Her commentary over her relief that he didn't commit suicide because it would have affected *her job, and *her reputation. Oftentimes, their sessions were obscure and enshrouded in darkness; it always felt like it was partly happening in his head and often caught myself thinking, "is he really in this room? wtf is she even saying."
