Dear Mandarin-fluent friends, would you please tell me how to pronounce the name Xiao Li Tan phonetically? It's not drama-related, obviously. I believe it's "SHAO LEE-TAHN"โis that right?
I think it's because he much older then her.Or she doesn't feel comfortable. A lot korean actresses don't like…
Honestly, if that WAS the case, i think it would be Tae Goo who is shy about it. Hes a *very* shy person in real life. Still, the BTS shows that theyre pretty comfortable around each other. Theyve worked together before and always say wonderful things about each other. Who knows the reality behind the lack of kissing. Only the director/writers, really.
I don't get why is he keep pushing her away like this. The decision to not tell her about his past name and let…
I explained it earlier, but he is ashamed of who he is. Its especially obvious in todays episodes when he was self conscious to stand in front of her after getting out of jail and covered in injuries. He'd rather she miss the past self of him, than disappoint her idealized version of him. He has to accept himself to allow her in. Right now, he doesnt feel good enough for her. He feels dirty and like she doesnt belong in "his world."
Just started and I think I like the fact he doesn't confess. I want her to want him for who he is, not who he…
Its obvious to me that hes not proud of who he is. He'd rather she miss the idealized, past version of him than disappoint her with the ex-thug he is now (at least, thats his mindset). It was especially obvious in Ep 8 after getting arrested and beaten. He seems himself as a criminal. Dirty. Not deserving of her. Hence the noble idiocy in pushing her away.
Per usual, the MDL comments are rife with immature, half-fledged opinions on a drama because its not rainbows and butterflies and saccarine romance. Skip the comments, watch and think for yourself. I personally believe its great. A slice of life drama with realistic characters. Neo does a great job here (i think its been immensely helpful to hear his real voice and true vocal inflections vs a cleaned up dub that masks his acting. No more "constipated face acting" here, to which I am delighted).
The music omg. I rarely notice bgm but this one made me want to scratch my ears off. They layered on it.
Its truly awful. I really feel like the writers think we're all dumb. Its like the music is TELLING us how we should feel, while the repeat scenes and over-explaining tells us what we should think. I get it, guys. You just showed this SAME flashback 30min ago. I remember, now move it along.
Such a tried and true soap opera formula. I'm watching it for the ML/FL relationship and how that shifts from enemies to what seems like the beginning of a son/mother or guardian type relationship. Other than that, the campy music, ridiculously heavy-handed repetition of her traumatic scenes (seriously, the amount of times they repeat scenes feels like the writers think we all have dementia), and over explaining of everything (again, we're not stupid), is a LOT to handle without my eyes twitching.
YASSSS
BASK IN THE GLORY OF UHM TAE GOO'S DRAMATIC ACTING.
Boy is on fireeee with his eye acting. Good LORDT, SLAY, KING.
Sincerely, a longtime simp of that delicious smokey voice. ๐
