I don't think that really works because he started ignoring her immediately after they bought the shirt, when he realized the price of it was the same amount his mother earned in a month. That's what started it all. Fitting in that group photo (and the episode 2 epilogue) in that whole scenario doesn't really work imo.

I don't think she ran away to New York at that point, because that introduces a rather big plot hole. We know because of episode 2 that at one point during the play rehearsal they took a group photo where he was wearing that shirt. This can't have happened yet because the conflict happened immediately after buying that shirt. So unless there's a giant plot hole, this can't be the end of their 2007 relationship.

Yup, I think they bit off more than they could chew, but even then: it should've just ended it in a stalemate. But the drama's insistence on forcing a happy ending here ends up undermining everything it tried to do. It couldn't solve the actual issue, but instead of addressing that, it instead quickly introduced another issue (the school) so they could fix that instead. It's just that by doing this it ended up ignoring the core problem and ended up making the guy that's part of the core problem into the hero.

Honestly, it was a complex situation, but I thought it was doing a decent job of walking a fine line of "this woman should've gotten the abortion she wanted" vs "this kid was born, so his life matters". I don't think these things are mutually exclusive. So when mother & son made up, I thought we'd circle back to the abortion issue, which they kinda did, but then they made the anti-abortion guy the hero in the whole thing which just misses the entire point.

Like, this guy is literally using his money from the anti-abortion group to build a special school (this issue makes sense, but also kinda comes out of left field at the very end) and adopt the mother that was refused an abortion by his hospital, all the while ignoring this actual problem and the fact that he's a part of it. Basically, this guy used anti-abortion money to fix a seperate problem just so he and the drama could ignore the fact that this woman's choice was ignored (and that he's part of that problem).

Yeah, same. I thought they were doing very well with a complex issue, but then they resolved it in such a convenient and unrealistic way that kinda ignores most of the issues the drama raised. Like, these issues don't have miracle solutions, so them suddenly pulling one out of their hat in the last 20 minutes just feels fake and unsatisfying.

Also, these are complex issues, and they require nuance. I didn't need this anti-abortion chairman to be some bad guy, but why are you suddenly making him out to be the hero in a way that glosses over most of the issues you raised regarding abortion? That doesn't entirely sit right with me honestly.

Miscommunication isn't my favorite trope either, but I can look past it to a certain degree as long as I'm invested in the story and characters, which I very much am here. This can totally become annoying later, but I don't think we've gotten to that point yet, at least for me.

I feel like half the people who are complaining here aren't even properly watching the drama. Both of the leads are deeply damaged, and it's pretty darn clear neither has actually moved on. And, no, the FL being stuck in a loveless marriage that probably wasn't even her choice does not count.

But, whatever, I'm loving this drama. There's a mix of rom-com & melodrama at play here, and while this doesn't always mix well, I think it really works here so far.

Well, I will surely be watching tomorrow, that's for sure. Honestly can't remember the last time I've been so invested in the first episode of a romance drama.

Unknown as far as I know. But the plot & character details seems to line up a bit too perfectly for it to just be a coincidence.

I'd say it is, it just doesn't really tell you anything about the story, as it's mostly just basic character descriptions.

If this an adaptation of the British series (and it seems to be), then no. People might be in for a very rude awakening if they're expecting this to be a romance.

S1 has a satisfying ending, so you don't necessarily have to wait.

Lol, I hated that ending so much. Like, you just threw away days of hard work (of women who really need that job) even after she apologized, and then I'm supposed to swoon 30 seconds later when he saves her because I guess she can't swim? Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but that ending just pissed me off. At least the preview makes it seem like he might actually be taken the job more seriously.

So, like, is Woo Da-vi's character gonna have a romance with Kim Mu-jun's? Look, all I'm saying is, I'm not about to watch Woo Da-vi end up heartbroken again damn it.

Honestly, I would've let them walk free, even if I know that's obviously not how the world works. But I assume they got a few years, since none of them really looked older when they got out, and they had a good lawyer (the judge being a woman might've helped too). Things could've been far worse I think.

He felt guilty for planting the seed with Eun-su to kill the husband. But I also think that the fact he lost his son in the past plays a big part here. He couldn't save his son in the past, but he can at least help these two women in the present (especially since he feels partly responsible for the whole thing). In the end, he pretty much becomes the father figure that both women never really had.

There is no romance in this.

His character was always a big question mark honestly. They knew very little about him, only that he seemed decent, so using him was always a big risk, which obviously backfired. People hide their true colors all the time, his just came out when he smelled a big payday.

It might seem sudden, but think about it, the same thing clearly happened with Jin-pyo. Why else would Hui-su marry him in the first place?
