Are you not up to date with the latest episodes? Because without giving away much, I just want to say, his background…
Is this also where it is explained why he is so immediately completely devoted to the FL. I am on ep 7 and this is what i wondered about, why he is sooo into her from the very beginning? and not into 2nd FL at all at the same time?
My only question is, why did the ML actually transmigrated 15 years ago and how was he stucked in the novel for…
Thanks for this, and I am still at ep 7, so my question is: how come the ML is immediately completely devoted and "in love# with the FL? IS it something that is later explained in the novel and in the drama? oOr is it something I just didn't notice during the first 7 episodes?
I totally agree, But also these K-dramas are fully fictional, not claimed to be Historical or political accurate.
Yes, absolutely with you on this point. It is biased, however the real history is layed out from one side or another.
Nowadays since we do have access to so much information, we should be "a bit more" aware of how we build the story, more considerate. I guess what strikes me about all of this is while we all as a world society became more polite and educated in the way we treat each other in the real life, everyone is "nice and understanding to each other", polite and perfectly tuned.... But at the same time, if the current behaviour of the netizens could be translated to the real life with all its suppressed frustrations, negative feelings, aggressive writings and so on, ... it would be a bloody street fights where everyone runs around with their knives looking wo to stick it in.
And here we are, at the drama world. Not politics, not economics. not diplomatic international relationships. At a place where we get to to relax and escape a bt from our daily reality. Aren't there more peaceful ways to get to know and understand each other points (not talking about our conversation of course :-) but the general drama netizens world. I ended up writing in your thread just to reflect a bit )

Agree with your points: very valid and I see it the same way. But also as far as I remember the portrayal of the "other" in both Chinese and Korean dramas has always been to fit the script and to underline the good side versus the "bad guys" or to underline any other kind of lacking of the "other". And not only in K- and C-dramas.
If you watch with the magnifying glass "Bon Appetit your Majesty" from this perspective (highly entertainment driven, little fact checking for any part of the background story) you can get offended about anything, about being an inventor, about the food, about the portrayal of the coking industries, about the knifes, how the palace functions, any kind of accuracy can be questioned.
Somehow most of us who dive into these dramas "agree" from the beginning that it is merely entertaining fictional story where things are done for fun and almost nothing fits.
So many minorities and not only minorities has been falsely portrayed in the representations because its representation didn't consider their own story but a comfortable klishee of the outsiders to fit their own narrative.
I guess we all should first look at thee mirror before judging the other
the innocent man? more like the dumbest man! how many chances are you gonna give to a woman that doesn’t care…
Its funny, I discovered K-Dramas for me just few years ago, going through many of them, aired from 2014 or later. Now that I go back to watch k-Dramas older than that, I really struggle to understand the logic and the story, event the mentality of the characters.
.... Its like landing in the airport of the country, you thought you know a bit about already, but in fact it appears to be a very different one
with heavy heart I dropped LOTFG at ep24, it's just not working for me.Therefore, since I have no lingering bias…
While I enjoy in both dramas, this and TLOFG the Cheng Lei acting, which is so different...
In this drama I sometimes, or more than just sometimes feel like the director whispered into FL and ML ears completely different things. Their acting often is kinda ... as if they were from parallel realms or different stories.
When I read through the original novel, which is quite short and looks a bit as an unfinished draft, I thought "Great. there is a god base do actually amplify it and build it into a proper script, since there are plenty of space to develop this story into something bigger / greater. but ow that I am watching it ... .hmmm
Whow, who did the "choreography" for the supernatural "Cheng Lei"??? Flying better than superman, vampire, witch on the broom altogether ... defying any imagination... this is out of this world! No comment lol
agree with you, even if this thread ended up under a different drama. also watching it and also agree, the plot could have been a bit more sophisticated in that question and less repeated. It started off quite interestingly but fell under the old tropes unfortunately
Is it recommendable to read the novel first?
