Absolutely amazing
An amazing watch! The story ties everything together seamlessly, with every detail connected to the main plot, yet it never feels overwhelming or overly complex. Character development makes perfect sense, and nothing feels abrupt or out of place. Usually, when the FL is portrayed as strong, they turn her into someone remarkable, a genius scholar or martial artist —nothing wrong with that, but it's not the only way. This FL is naive, feminine, and sometimes powerless, but still strong in her own way. The fairy makes pivotal decisions on her own, not "strong" in the conventional sense, but certainly not your typical pure-hearted damsel in distress either. It's so refreshing to see a female lead who is both influential and strong without losing her pure, angelic vibe. If you're looking for a story with love, family bonds, friendships, and a gripping mix of war and politics, all with a dash of humor, don't miss this one!Was this review helpful to you?

A Nice Watch with Missed Potential
The story is solid, but the execution feels a bit anticlimactic. The cast is attractive and delivers strong performances, yet the romantic scenes between the couple fall flat. This could be due to limited acting range or production choices that don’t fully capture the intended intensity. Overall, I don’t regret watching this C-drama; it was an enjoyable watch, even though it had the potential to be much better. Was this review helpful to you?

Enjoyable, but Could Have Used More Couple Scenes
Overall, it was an enjoyable watch.Positives:
1- The visuals – Both leads are just so pretty.
2- Strong characters – The female lead isn't a damsel in distress, nor does she have childish traits. The male lead isn't a flawless, god-like figure either. Both are capable, smart cultivators, growing and evolving as they face the challenges together.
3- The central theme – The idea behind the story is quite deep, and the way the good vs. evil conflict is resolved is thought-provoking.
Negatives:
1- Missed chemistry potential – The chemistry between the leads is undeniable, but unfortunately, the drama doesn't fully take advantage of it. The couple feels flat at times, not because of the leads' performances or the story, but due to production choices.
2- Side story overload – At times, the side plots took away from the main story, making the overall narrative feel overcrowded.

This one has everything I love about Chinese period dramas
The main couple embodies both the "Wattpad bad boy" toxic dynamic and the "stealing glimpses of your high school crush" butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling. Both of the leads are toxic, scheming their own games, neither radiating sincerity at first. The goodness in their layered characters appears gradually. The ML is an actual red flag, but only during his mental episodes. This adds an exciting layer to their relationship, as we get the thrill of a bad boy romance minus the guilt, since he’s not himself when he’s being a monster. But then again, maybe he’s just unleashing his true, unrestrained self, only other times he’s holding back.
The male lead’s innocent crush—secretly studying her face, stealing shy glances, making lame excuses just to be around her—absolutely heart-fluttering. These lighthearted, fun moments gradually evolve into a deep, passionate love over time. The transition was seamless, and how they embraced their feelings and built trust between each other happened at the perfect pace.
The drama explores many themes: palace politics, revenge, toxic relationships, and fluffy romance, with each arc being captivating and well-balanced. Definitely a must watch and became my favorite cdrama so far!

A quiet take on a flashy tale
This show had every chance to go down the campy, over-the-top route, especially with the body-switching plot, but it chose to keep things grounded and realistic. It’s a calm, heartfelt love story where the character development feels natural and genuine. By the end, it really makes you reflect on what it means to truly love someone. The acting is fantastic, and the side characters are incredibly lovable. Overall, it’s a 10/10 drama, and I highly recommend giving it a watch. Was this review helpful to you?
