Title Like in the Movies Spoiler
Is it a happy ending?
That's honestly hard to answer. This isn't a typical BL drama where the mains ride off into the sunset, no. It's just not that kind of show. But I don't consider it a bad ending either. Bring tissues, but no one dies and they obviously love each other very much at the end.

This is a slice-of-life drama. Expect life. It's kind of messy. :)

"I have never been someone that really cares about OST, I am rarely big on OSTs, they don’t really move me...."

Same here. Even the others you mentioned later in this quote, I never really noticed (and UWMA and History 3 are some of my favorite series).... but damn, this drama used music so perfectly. There was no way *not* to notice the OSTs. It was so awesome.

Damn, that was good.

I have never ever in my life seen music used so perfectly in a drama. Whoever is in charge of the OSTs for this drama deserves an award and some serious recognition.

Review Ghost Runner
As an avid Dr. Who fan, weirdly done makeup and ... you know... plungers painted silver to create a ray-gun... are my jam. Sounds like something right up my alley. :)

Theory for Season 3: The Director knew he had lost the day and faked letting Pang mind-fu him and walked away unscathed to live another day. Mark my words, he will be the big-bad again next year.

Nice, simple little series with some good performances, and it ends very well. Story is a bit slow, the writing…
"continuity between some of the scene's was a shambles" There was tons of this... but in the last episode, when Lin dialed Sine, put the phone to her ear... ... and then... did it again? I was so confused. Did he not answer? Did she call Tan too? What the heck was that?

That was freakin' adorable. Everyone, including the ex-girlfriend, were just awesome. I both hate and love that they broke lockdown. They shouldn't have, but the kiss was very nice to see.

this looks bad. I feel this will go down Sakristan's path. Great idea/concept, but the execution will kill it.…
Sakristan was so terrible. I put up with a lot of questionable acting in BL, so that didn't bother me so much. My problem with it was it felt like the whole point of the series was non-acceptance. Like you can't be a person in that society and be gay. It felt like it went against everything I watch BLs for. You know?

Hey! I've watched both "I Am Your King" and "I Am Your King 2". :) As an example of what I'm willing to watch when it comes to BLs, this was my reply to someone being confused about the story in "I Am Your King 2" on Youtube:

There's a story? I'm really not sure there is one. Something about Sib and Tar being a thing back in the day and manipulative, homophobic Par apparently wanting to date a gay guy, because... reasons. Then there's the parents will disapprove because dad's going to be in politics (and you know... both their sons are gay... I suppose it might be a problem, but there's not much they can really do about it except be prepared for scandals(either before or after the forced marriages to women.)) Then there is the fact that both Em and Sib liking the same guy... and maybe the same thing happened with Tar back in the day and Em wanting to save Pun from heartbreak that Tar experienced when Sib doesn't choose him. I'm going back to my original question... There's a story? If there is, it was written by a 12-year-old who forgot to take their Ritalin today.

So... ya... I've been known to watch some pretty silly BLs and still enjoy them. :):) At least this drama seemed to have a semi-coherent plot... as far as I could tell. :) :) :)

It is ... fine, at least as far as I could tell. But if you need English subtitles, be warned... they are HORRIBLE. It's like someone translated it to Korean, and then ran the Korean subtitles through Google translate to English and posted those as subs. Half of them are missing and the other half gave me a headache trying to decipher.

I think I would have enjoyed the drama fine if the subs would have been ok. I've certainly watched worse stories and enjoyed them ok. It is honestly hard to know if there are plot holes or if everything was tidied up because of the subs. It's kind of a weird story.

I think I might have actually liked this if the subs didn't give me such a headache. Trying to read, then decipher the meaning of, and then try to figure out what was going on when the subs were missing entirely got old pretty quick. But I liked the characters and the multiple story-lines (this easily contains storylines for a few different dramas.... so many dropped plotlines...) Some of the acting was a bit stiff, but considering how new most of them are, they did fine. It was certainly watchable. I particularly liked Guy Korrachai's and Yang Jiajin's work here. They seemed the most natural to me. The script could use some major polishing, but, again, I think I would have liked the drama fine if I didn't have to do so much guesswork to figure out what was going on. I really wish the new guys good luck in the future. I hope they all get more work.

Oh Holy [insert any bad word]!! The subs are killing me. They're sooooo bad. It's genuinely hard to tell what's going on at all. It's like Google Translate ate them and then threw them back up again.

Note: I appreciate all of the awesome subbers out there that dedicate your time and energy to sub things for all of us. Thank you very much.

... but this is really really bad.

This series may have potential, so it would be good for the actors and the production team if they fix the english…
I'm convinced they used Google Translate and then mistimed everything. It's so confusing.

Title Quaranthings: The Series Spoiler
I don't get all the Judah hate in the comments. Except for the weird interlude with Glenn and the way Judah used him, I thought he was kind of awesome. He is a 19-year-old gay man who just got badly hurt and rejected by his first lover. Making sure Rocky was sure of himself before accepting him again seems like a pretty mature step to me. And he didn't make Rocky come out of the closet. He just wasn't willing to be with Rocky unless Rocky could be himself, as per the beautiful line from Judah, "You are my happiest regret." Rocky coming out to his father was pretty decent proof that Rocky was ready to be in a relationship with another guy. As far as Judah's queen-ish temper, mannerisms, and dialogue go, I kind of liked it. He was both sweet and assertive, rather than the caricatures we often get in BL dramas with queens dressing up in makeup and frilly pink clothes and "bottoms" being shy and coquettish. I really really liked both Judah and Rocky. I totally recommend this drama.
