I hope they find a better English translation team for the new episodes. To all the translation teams out there, I love you all. Thank you from the bottom of my English speaking heart. However, "So Much in Love" has some of the worst subtitle work I have bothered to watch in my life. It's headache-inducing.
Omg, did you watch the same ep I'm watching? She took chuck chuck back because Moira wanted him to starve to death.…
My Day couldn't decide what it wanted to be. Some of it is campy. Some of it is serious. Some of it so over the top it completely defies description. If it had picked one or even just two of these, I think it would have been fine.
"The naughty lines (e.g. between Ace and Sky; between Ace and the gym trainer) were nice though, not because they…
I think it was just the way that entire conversation went that made me think, "Oh... Dad knows." and... you know.... this is a BL and that's how these things seem to tend with the Main Leads. But I totally get what you're saying.
Episode 6 is My Day's best episode yet. The plot/storyline progressed in this episode and most of the scenes were…
"The naughty lines (e.g. between Ace and Sky; between Ace and the gym trainer) were nice though, not because they were naughty but because they revealed that Ace didn't just wake up suddenly liking men; the feeling's been there all along. "
While I appreciate every naughty line a BL will give me, the fact that Ace likes men was quietly established in Episode 1. Ace was complaining to his dad about being pushed into liking Kim. His dad replied that he didn't want anyone to think he was a girl. (*obviously not an exact quote). It starts at 10:30 of the 2nd part of the first episode.
A lot happened on the 40+-minute long Episode 7: The Final Chase. Most loose ends were resolved and a major secret…
I have nothing to add about the series as I've not watch it yet... I just want to tell you Pinoy BL Series, how much I enjoy your breakdowns and comments on Filipino BL dramas. You are awesome.
Unfortunately I am not that emotionally invested in this show beyond saying that #1. Cheating is not right#2.…
This. So much this. I'm also ok with it being depicted in dramas. I prefer this type of drama to the toxic girlfriend or ex-girlfriend trope so prevalent in BLs. If the script needs something to be in conflict, this is certainly more realistic than some narcissistic girl insisting she get the gay guy. I'm like, "For what? I don't think you're going to like what you catch." It's a stupid trope that I hope ends soon.
Whereas cheating happens everywhere. Gay relationships, straight relationships, multi-person relationships... everywhere. Everyday. It's wrong, but it does create believable drama.
Dropped it at ep 7. It is not bad (the actors acting isn't cringy at least ++) but it is the same thing all over…
"Sigh, I am having the same withdrawal I had with Korean dramas. Everything is the same and that is so tiring and boring :(. It took me a whole 2 years before I could enjoy Kdramas again."
Are you me? I went through 6 years of being a Kdrama addict, until everything, like everything... was the same, just with different actors. Then I wandered through Chinese Xianxia and Wuxia until those were all the same... now BLs (yes.. The Untamed led me here.) I haven't yet been at this quite a year, so I'm not quite to where you are in BLs, but this one was sure kind of repetitive with it's story line (2 Moons did it better.) I'm still finding gems here and there though (Gaya Sa Pelikula, I Told Sunset About You, Gameboys, Until We Meet Again, and others), so I'm not bored yet, but some of the tropes are starting to get to me. The toxic relationships, the "I'm not gay, I just love you", the seriously toxic female characters (are all Thai women either doormats or horrible people?), the Engineers! (and lack of any female representation in Engineering classes is really weird to me), etc. It's not endearing, it's annoying.
I need spoiling if anyone is up for it. I'd like to see this drama, but I'm really really not into the toxic ex-girlfriend trope. I've read a whole lot of comments about Moira in this thread. My favorite so far is a simple:
Moira can burn in hell.
So.... just wondering... Can she burn in hell Lhong style? Or more Kengkla style? By the way, why are all of these people not in jail? I see how Kengkla gets away with raping a drunken Techno (doesn't want to report it as he's male... or as MAME would have us believe... falls in love with his rapist (thanks MAME,)) but Lhong? He is a frickin' awful person who should be rotting in a prison cell somewhere.
So, is Moira more Lhong bad or Kengla bad? Since I haven't watched it yet, and I really need to know how many of her scenes I need to skip as I hate the toxic "I have to have him, he's mine" women in BL dramas. HATE.
Have you seen 3 Will Be free? That’s one that has some nice representation and tackles it well, with sexuality…
I put it and "Diary of Tootsies" off for a long time for similar reasons to you. Just not my thing. I totally get it. I got bored and finally watched it. Still not my thing, so it'll never be my favorite drama, but it was good.

The first sex between the mains is between the bisexual guy and the girl. This hurts the other guy a lot. At the end, they... sort of stay in a relationship, but one of them leaves to go off to college. The bar they end up owning has all three of their names on it though.

Polyamory is honestly not really the take-away from "3 Will Be Free". It's more of an after affect of 3 people running away from danger together than something the drama was aiming for. It's really good. If I remember right, there are only 2 sex scenes with the mains in the whole drama, and only 1 with all three together... and they were high on something (random Thai drug that I was not familiar with). Let me just say, it would be a good drama without the sex anyway.
Very true! There is very little to almost no bisexual representation in BL's. It's one of the things that make…
There's also almost no GL. I say give these pest women someone in their circle of friends to like so they will leave the boys alone already :) ... You know... keep 'em busy.
Something that really annoys me in BLs is when a ML (or male character in general) dated a girl before, and then…
Not to mention the fact that for most of us out here in the real world, sexuality is not really a 1 or a 0. Most of us are somewhere in the gray in between. Even if I have always dated people from a certain gender, it's certainly possible I might fall in love with someone from another. It's not some set in stone thing.
Ok. I watched. You gave a great review. I would add that anyone wanting to watch this should know how to fast forward in the player they're watching it in because every episode has a good 10-15 minutes of repetitive "knowing looks" at various characters with no dialog and nothing at all going on. This drama could have used a decent editor. I'm still pretty clueless about how Mo and his love interest (forgotten his name) actually got back together at the end. However, the couplings (both the straight and gay) are actually pretty sweet and the boys are all pretty cute, even the ghosts (sans makeup anyway.) No one seems particularly uncomfortable with their acting partners. All-in-all, it isn't great cinema or anything, but it is a fun ride.
Loved it! I started watching when it first came out, finished ep 2 and kinda stopped watching all Dramas for a…
I agree. Only story I didn't like was Dr. Petch/Khim/Khem/Dr. Perth (Petch and Khim can go die in a fire... neither of them deserve anyone.) But I loved Sol and Gui. Whereas everyone else here read them as boring, I read them as both very reserved people. Their romance was quiet and simmering (and healthy for god's sake... it didnt' start with stalking or a drunken rape or anything.... and once they were together there was no smushed face recoiling from the other's touch) rather than the usual for BL's, loud and fire. Yes, both actors need a bit more experience, but I didn't think they were horrible in their roles at all. I also like Kao and Phu a lot. I read Phu as a very cautious person. He's had quite a few issues in the past and he has some major obligations with his brother and the business and just doesn't want anyone else to have to shoulder those with him. I did find the actor who played Phu, oddly also named Phu, to be pretty stiff. I think he needs to relax a bit more in front of the camera and be a bit more expressive. Even if you aren't the chatty type, we should be able to tell what you're feeling anyway by facial expressions and body language and that was missing a bit. I loved the actor that played Kao however. He really carried that pair. All 4 of them need to get a bit more experience and I think they will all be fine. The next novel is about Kao and Phu. It picks up a year after the end of this story. I'm looking forward to it. I do hope there's a bit more skinship on the part of the mains though. I miss the sweet kisses and neck sniffing.:)
