Maybe this goes under the category of guilty pleasure. I think everyone THINKS they should hate it, but for me…
This drama has issues... HOWEVER... everyone here seems to act at least semi-adult-like. Yes, they had that weird romantic square problem in the beginning, but once everything came out, they talked to each other and apologized. They talk out their problems. Everyone seems to treat the "comic relief trio" with a bit of respect instead of just making fun of them. There's no seme/uke as far as I can tell, just a couple of guys that like each other. The ML was out and proud from the very beginning. And none of the couples is doing the weird "I love you but don't touch me cause I'm too shy for you to actually kiss or touch" crap.
Are there production problems (sound, editing, etc)? Yes. Could this have been like 8 episodes instead of 12? For sure. Do the actors and screenwriter need a bit more experience? Uh huh. But it's not a bad drama at all.
So far I'm really enjoying my Thailand Tourism Promotional Drama with BL leads :):)
Holy crap Netizens... it's really just a drama. Does art imitate life? Sure. I'm sure there are tons of incidents and people from the Democratization movement that have caused and continue to cause many a writer a bout or two of inspiration. But this is fiction. Let fiction be fiction.
This is a train wreck of a show but like all morbid ppl I need to see the end. But all daily motions vids hv been…
This. So much this. It feels like all of his family and all of his friends... and the love of his life... played some elaborate joke on him for 5 years and broke his beautiful sweet heart. I absolutely do not understand why. And I never will.
These people know they have Fluke Natouch in their drama right? One of the best actors in Thai BL working today? What's with all of the no dialogue music-over scenes? Give that boy some lines and make me feel something about Golf and Bank other than just pissed off that everyone in his life seems to have played some elaborate trick on Bank and broke his beautiful sweet heart.
I, however, have watched the long version 50 episodes 3 times now. One of my favorite dramas of all time. I love wuxia/xianxia dramas, and I love BL, so... ya.... The Untamed is just my cup of tea. To each their own.
Yesssss to low rated dramas! I loved Horse Doctor. On the occasion of this article, I'll, too, list a couple of…
I've watched quite a few of these and I would say that's a pretty good list. Bad Guy, Me too, Flower!, Phoenix, Padam Padam, Bad Thief Good Thief... all solid very very watchable dramas. Bad Guy is actually one of my favorite dramas of all time.
if you start with 5 as a midpoint/average, then 7 would be a fairly good drama. curious to know what other scales…
As a consequence of the American Education system (yes... I'm well aware that not everyone here is from the US... but lots of us are,) in which receiving a "C" is considered failing by many parents and teachers, dramas here on MDL are often rated higher than they probably should be. I do this too. I'll give a drama a 7 just for putting something in front of my face that made sense. As a BL watcher, sometimes I think this is a huge feat. I've only rated like 2 dramas in the 5 range and they are dramas I never ever want to think of again.
Interesting that a 7 is low to some. I always skim the reviews because rating is so subjective.
Oftentimes a drama will dip into the 7's just because of an ending that dramaland didn't like. For instance, if you like melodrama/revenge dramas, "Bad Guy" with Kim Nam Gil is freakin' amazing, but the ending is .... .... not what dramaland wanted to see. Even though that particular ending is the only one that made any sort of sense. The most recent comment on the drama's thread is actually:
great kdrama but the last episode killed the mood! I would say watch up 16 and end it.
Xiao En's dialogue about Xin Yu having a potential male love interest is really naive and cringy. Like, yes, it totally possible for a guy to like another guy. What century do you live in girl?
I have nerves of steel and made all through episode 6 :)But same problem here: no desire to continue, but can't…
I watched the whole thing. Mostly for Rang like the rest of the folks here. It's really nice to see Kim Bum again.
The leads really lacked something when they were together. I don't know what it was... the acting seemed fine, and the story behind the romance was fine, but the two of them together... eh... meh.
I even fast forwarded though the kissy-mushy stuff at the end cause I didn't care about it at all. I never do that.
What in the blue hell was that last scene? So... he's lying to everyone, including Ji Ah (who wouldn't care if he is a fox, a human, a boy, a girl, whatever) that he's human, running around getting root canals and wearing unnecessary glasses, when he's really still a fox? Then why did the flowers and the wind and the trees say goodbye to him at his wedding? Granny and Hyuneuiong very obviously thought he was no longer a fox. All of his fox friends could no longer smell it on him. Really.... what was that? Unless they're planning some special follow up movie or another season, the last scene was very very out of place.
So the last episode had me bawling for 75 minutes (I even cried when the flowers said goodbye for [insert deity here]'s sake) and then the last couple of minutes left me in complete confusion. That was really annoying.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who hates romance on this website. I'm always in search of dramas that…
I don't mind romance as long as it's not the focus of the show. Great whodunit with a main couple working on the mystery? Sure... but Romantic Comedies are not my bag at all.
Do yourself a favor, and don't be influenced by the comments on crime dramas on MDL. Most of the time, people…
They also tend to downvote sad endings here... even if that's the only ending that makes any sort of sense. I remember watching "Bad Guy" with Kim Nam Gil, which is an awesome melo/revenge drama, but the ending is... not what dramaland wanted, even though it was the only ending that made any sort of sense. All the comments were so pissy about the end and it still sits at 7.7 on this site. It should easily be in the high 8's range, but... no. Feh. I still like it :)

Whatever dramaland! You're missing out :):)
