I want to looooove this drama but I'm struggling to even find it fluid. The plot is static but its also healing in the sense that the viewer is highly satisfied with character growth but substance is severely lacking . It should actually be more slice of life with a very clear vehicle in mental health but this drama selling itself short on the meta , world building and psychology as theres too much emphasis on style .

Review W Spoiler
First off - I am super honored that a super fan of W found my review good. Super appreciate it.I can definitley…
You have adequately explained my questions by using screen play terms . I liked your take on 'sustainable choice' and the use of an autonomus principle. There is a principle of the absurd in W that one needs to take into conideration too which you are very right in. Oh yeon Joo definitley had the mechnanic of the manhwa.

Thank you so much for this very comprehensive explanation.

Your season 2 sounds very good ! Well done.

By the way- what are your other fave dramas?

Review W Spoiler
Don't ask me why after so many years I hadn't written a review of my favorite drama, but I just did. So I've also…
First off - I am super honored that a super fan of W found my review good. Super appreciate it.

I can definitley take your stance on the flaw of W not necessarily being plot holes per se but rather not providing explanations.I do very much agree on the fact that "some things should have been better shown to help the audience."

I get that the killer became self aware hence he can access not the tablet per se but a portal and beause he has Oh Sung Moo's face - his portal manifested as the tablet which is the'main' portal as used by the author. He stays in the manwha because he wants to be the main character and has no other awareness besides the need to kill and this awareness was negated in the 'real world' , thats my take. I am informed by the fact that Kang Chul had a reason to be aware in the real world because of his love for the girl. His greatest weapon was choice hence he could thrive in both worlds and the killer could not because he was characterised to only kill.

But my gripe is why introduce the fact that Yeon Joo actually wrote W before and not have it play a big role ?I felt like they walked into a plot hole with that as it went against the flow of logic alredy presented.

Unexplained questions I have are :Was it the manhwa ending of 'choice' or was it her ending ? Why did the tablet manifest to be a portal ?And the fact that webtoon just carried on and ended on its own terms? Publishing itself.. may you please help :-)

This drama is amazing . It’s so rich in heart , visuals and empathy . I appreciate the depiction of Mental Health and the OK Psychiatry hospital. This show is giving me good vibes and I can’t helo but smile even though darkness is looming.

-> The dreadlock scene at best is cultural appropriation. It's not a racist scene. The guy isn't blackfaced either,…
True . It wasn’t pedophilia but in my responses - I was just illustrating my hard limits and used Lolita and American Beauty .

Before I continue, I want to mention that there is technically no pedophilia involved (they were adults). Anyways,…
The show doesn’t have pedophilia and I know that . Again - in general

I’m sorry if you took my comment as a headache . Wonderbread understands the greater context and you are offended. .My comment was in general in the spirit of morale . I despise ignorance and ignorance can only be quelled when there’s light shed onto it . Let us have our hard limits on anti blackness with no greater context or commentary and you enjoy your show .

Thank you for comment but my comment was just in general and to give morale to the people who have hard limits and were being disregarded in the name of ‘ art’ with no intention . Art should always be intentional and never ignorant . Heck ! A show can do the black face but give us the larger commentary on it with context and a stance . Shows must not carry the onus of heavy subjects and not provide intentionality . Otherwise they are just ignorant.

Lolita is a truly beautiful piece of literature and shows the twisted mind of a pedophile. Everyone who reads…
Yes . It’s beautiful to you .Thats your aesthetic claim and truth claim but it’s not mine and that’s okay too . I do not need greater expounding on such an obvious debase act as pedophilia .

I will have you know the Wolf of Wall Street is one of my favourite movies of all time . Why ? Because it has greater commentary on what power, drugs, entitlement and greed can do to a man and that’s what Jordan’s real story is about it . It’s a human portrait that’s completely sympathetic whilst having a stance as we see in the last scene .

Art should be intentional with greater commentary and not some slapstick .That’s my point .

Your comment is extremely well thought out . However - my comment was in general and I would like to applaud you for bringing up examples. But you see - your examples all have dramatic tension and the questionable scenes where a vehicle to bring about the story at large . There’s no problem with that . That’s art . I do have problem when pedophilia and anti blackness are inserted without greater commentary. That’s all.

Some morale for this comment section: Something I have learnt in drama /movie /tv watching is getting to know your hard limits.

My hard limit is racism without any historical context but is just inserted as ignorance like the Rastafarian scene in question . I drop the show / drama / movie immediately . My other hard limit is paedophilia romanticised. I have never watched American Beauty or read Lolita because of it. Its okay to have a hard limit. And never let anyone gaslight you into not having one.

What is going on in DramaLand this year? 2020 is the year for bad Chinese dramas and controversial/everyone-is-a-critic…
2020 is a bust in every way. Lol

I really hope so too. I hope its as dynamic as you are putting it because we may be in for a deus ex machina and I really , really , really hope this show maintains the dynamics its showing us right now.

Title Money Flower
I have been seeing the comments and every single one of them is justified and makes sense . All I can say to you who may want to watch Money Flower is that it’s a brand of drama that you either like or dislike .

Assess your drama biases then go for it .For example- I’m not a fan of age gap romances and I’m likely to bash the drama because of that bias i.e . not a fan of Goblin because of this .If you don’t like long silences and dramas that take themselves seriously and are very cerebral with social tragedies then this is not for you . But on the other hand - if you like this - definitely go for it .
