I have been saying that this show is badly edited since episode 1. The scenes and dialogue are factually not fluid leaving the viewer in a fuddle, and I thought it would be helpful and insightful to ask you guys in this comment section what you think about the apology issued by the producers for ep 6.
The producers have even apologised for what appears to be a tone deaf episode 6 that depicted a Japanese military tiff . "This is Baek Sang Hoon, the PD of “The King: Eternal Monarch. As the director, I sincerely apologize for causing this controversy, regardless of the reason. But I can tell you that we did not intend to put a Japanese flag on our Korean warships or to mislead viewers into mistaking our Korean warships as Japanese warships.....I sincerely apologize for causing discomfort to the viewers due to my desire in wanting to make up for the incomplete parts using the current situation(Covid 19) and lack of time as an excuse as well as my complacency of not checking every detail even though I should have."
This screams like someone who does not do a spell check on their documents and emails. Thoughts?
Oh my word . Saying you don’t like a show is not hate speech . And really - some people on MDL are really quite juvenile for attacking people to have their right to believe something and say it .
Remember - People deserve respect . Always. Ideas however do not deserve any inherent respect. A show is an idea . Any idea that is not subjected to the harshest possible criticism is an idea not worth having . I’m sure these writers cherish criticisms anyways .
Plus it’s not that deep . It’s just a show and they are actors portraying ideas . No one is hating an actors person .
I agree with what you said . I’m kinda confused at how people are saying it’s easy to follow. In all honesty - the plot is not showing fluidity thus far. It’s rather intermittent.I think it’s editing . I heard the assistant director for DOTS is the head here so I’m sure he’s still setting up a signature.
The placement of the scar is a major source of confusion . Are there two Lee Gon’s or should we adhere to Einstein’s quantum, mechanics of the parallel universe with the opposite and inverse happening in the parallel universe? You are rich in one and poor in the other etc ? Or maybe it’s a glaring mistake ? Then of course the obviously male saviour with her name tag.?
I’m really excited for this drama. It’s so nice to look at and it’s colours are amazing . The second episode was terribly off though . Felt like a filler instead of it telling the story as it should . I get they are trying to give us some character context with the flashbacks but they are off putting and weirdly inserted . That’s on skittish editing. I’m also finding the script rather shallow especially pertaining to the main leads . I was using the 10sec fast forward button in the last ten minutes because the leads keep saying the same things to each other. They are coming of as dry to be quite frank. I’m not going to critique too much though as this is the 2nd episode and these points are redeemable.
the plot is a work of a HYPOCRITE....I tried to keep up.......but unfortunately am not an asshole to go along…
If we moralise things way too much in drama - we fail to see its purpose . Money Flower is a social tragedy at heart and the good people are victims making the best of what they have against the Chairman
I agree with you, especially with the romance. It was poorly done and the show would've been better without it,…
Hey,
Thank you so much for your comment.
I'm glad you agree and definitely the tone was all over the place. Its as if the writers felt burdened by this rich historical narrative and just didn't know what to do in the end. Its actually a shame because this had the potential to be magnificent.
As for Nokdu Flower- I have not watched but its definitely going on high priority now based of what you said.I'm glad to hear there a re strong femal characters and complex figures like Sun Ho.
I am really not a fan of the romance. I find the scenes tiresome. However this show is a top tier drama for sure . Only a lacklustre ending can affect my top ratings .
