Well, I wouldn't consider MJTY a flop, since I personally feel douban probably consists of most users who have no eyes for art, they would rather dupe the whole cast's hardwork just because of director's scandal.

Besides considering the fact that MJTY did not get even a little bit of promotion, with literally no announcement on airing dates, it was pretty much more than just succesful. Not only the actors were influencing anough to bring audience, even the plot and the drama as a whole was enough to attract audience.

But I also won't agree to the above user's ( main commentors) claim of this not being popular as MJTY because of no romance, as a regular viewer of Blood of youth myself. The drama despite having most of the not very popular among international fans cast, and no romance at all, attracted high amount of viewers. I find it kinda funny that there are people who would actually bother comparing two dramas despite then being different genre.
If you feel so, then this genre is probably not your cup of tea. ( not being rude here, that's what I think if you don't like drama based on romance)

I can relate, everytime I would start a new drama w/ intention of pulling myself off MJTY, but none of its worked, except weekly doses of korean thriller.
I was craving for a C-costume drama, and literally swept through past, present and future of mdl, to find atleast one good costime drama that I missed or dropped. But there was none.
Finally, there's some good drama to breath. And I am thankful, that it will extend for a mnth atleast.
MJTY literally ended in 13 days or say two weeks. That fact that a 24 episode drama ended in 2 weeks got me withdrawal syndrome (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

Honestly speaking, I prefer this over zlh other characters rn. Cause considering lbfad, MJTY and then FSM:YH, all of them show him as a character with love and loyalty.
He needed something to break the stereotype that he is not just a romance male lead material. He could do well in non romance dramas too. It would really expand his future project opportunities.

I am guessing she probably sent her son to martial world because she wanted him to grow in love, after all demon world was chaotic and seek revenge. And that gives me another feeling that she probably loved a human.

Ikr!! There's this, and then eternal dream too. The cast all consisted of current A losters and some actors who play male leads in recent years.
Who knows, maybe one of the current drama, may turn out to be a future wow, for future viewers, who may WOW of the ensemble of another big A LISTER PRODUCTION.

And then there's Fox matchmaker too. Even the supporting characters and guest roles include some of the actors who are engaged as the main leads of S+ level projects.
I am still amazed by the huge production and budget.
Not only the CGI looks good from trailer, even cast involved is high budget
