Watched the first Ep. Why didn't the FL get rid of all threats immediately after she freed herself. Why did she…
the only immediate threat in the room was taken care of. there are too many people altogether for her to fight off alone. her best chance was to help the other victim escape, that way, she can get help even if the FL wasn't able to escape afterwards.
she tried to talk to the other victim because the other victim will only get them exposed faster if she's hyperventilating and panicking, not to mention, the other victim was clearly not in the right state of mind to be thinking logically. for her to actually escape, she needs at least some use of the logistical part of her brain instead of defaulting to fight or flight.
it's stated in the episode, she didn't become head of a department from that case alone. that's a position/department that she has been working towards since she started. i could be mistaken but her promotion notice was also prior to her abduction.
I'm struggling to keep watching because how they act towards NH and I'm only at ep 8...
26-27ish is when the story really starts picking up so definitely keep going! It's gonna be brutal and frustrating but I promise the story is worth it! (worse comes to worse, basically just skim the scenes lol)
For some reason, I am disappointed with Jolin Jin's performance lately. If Dilraba is like a chameleon - every…
I definitely agree, I feel as though Jolin Jin would fit well into other variety shows like Hello Saturday or such, but in The Truth, which is a murder mystery show, her "humor" is extremely jarring and just doesn't quite fit the vibe. Additionally, a lot of the times, it seems as if her humor is forced and the only times in which she's unintentionally funny does she actually bring humor.
Also, her whole thing with clinging to the boys has also annoyed me from the start. Some of the boys like Bai Yu has also obviously shown disinterest and even being uncomfortable with it. Not to mention, she's both pregnant and in a long-term relationship with someone else, you'd think there would be some sort of restraint...
It might just be me being biased but I don't really like Jinjing being in the show... When I watched her in the like special ep or whatnot, I had no opinions about her joining but after watching the latest ep, I feel like she just doesn't fit in. Her way of talking is always too exaggerated to the point of being annoying and I feel like that really takes the "murder mystery vibes" out of the show and turns it into a kinda annoying comedy in a way. I also miss LYN and Reba's brother-sister duo, they were so fun to watch in the first two episodes T-T
I was so hyped up for this drama before its release, the synopsis sounded great and the actors were just too top…
just a few things: Dilraba's character get's more "badass" as the plot goes on, especially towards the middle. Her character in the beginning is meant to be cheesy and such because her character was trying to make everyone think that she was just a girl who was head over heels so that everyone else would let down their guards
FL did not hold a grudge against the sister because she was closer friends with the sister in their childhood. ML on the other hand, even showed signs that he agreed with his father's actions. FL is very emotional when it comes to death and naturally, her views change depending on person. 2ML is basically her childhood best friend and saved her from her exile, so it's understandable that she would side with him, not to mention, the sister said it was okay and to do it. The other characters did the FL's "bidding" because they were her friends and family who cared about her. Would your loved ones not try everything they can to get you your happy ending?
I see why the drama got a low rating in my opinion 7.7 was even higher ratings should have got much lower. Can…
Honestly, from what I've seen from netizens, they aren't mad at plot changes but more so the lack of care from Youku and the frankly terrible production. Plot changes are pretty common in drama adaptations, especially when the novel is as long as it is (I have the Chinese novel and it's 5 books long, 2 volumes). Since they are limited to 40 episodes or so, they have to cut a lot of stuff out and add stuff in to not only fit it in the time frame it has but also to comply with actors requests.
Lowkey missing them rn. I still dont forgive the productions shitty cgi and lighting tho 🙄 This drama literally…
Yeah, it's genuinely sad. A lot of the clothing and hair styles, not to mention the chemistry and acting between all the actors were sooo good. It's a shame production cheaped out on the cgi and stuff
I don't think its fair to blame it on fans but your opinion is your opinion, the same goes for if you think that…
Yes! Thank you for communicating what I forgot to! My original post, I never meant to hate on Chen Zheyuan or anything, I just wanted to point out that Chen Xingxu has higher seniority and it's not that Chen Zheyuan is bad, he's just not as suited for the role as much as Chen Xingxu
The new "Chen" guy, heavily rumored, is someone I personally don't like very much. I also don't think he is as…
I don't think its fair to blame it on fans but your opinion is your opinion, the same goes for if you think that he's not good at Chen Zheyuan. Looking at it from a more neutral point of view, Chen Xingxu has higher seniority and longer experience than Chen Zheyuan, which almost automatically makes him a better fit for Reba, as their level of acting is closer, not to mention they have better visual appeals since his age is loser to hers. Additionally, Chen Xingxu has won multiple awards for his acting and has starred in a multitude of very popular dramas before so again, looking at it from a completely neutral standpoint, Chen Xingxu is in no way lacking compared to Chen Zeyuan.
Weird comment incoming people So i have a general dislike of Chinese English title everything is Legend Of , Story…
At least for "Legend of" or "Story of", it's because it's a near direct translation from the Chinese title. For example, 《安乐传》is "Legend of Anle" with the English title. This is because "传" means legend or story. The same goes for 《令妃传》, although, the English title changed "令妃" to Yanxi Palace, which gives us the title: The Story of Yanxi Palace.
As for why this drama is called "Love of Turquoise Island" instead of Earth Owl or something like that, its likely because the character "枭" doesn't just mean "owl", it also means "trafficker". Additionally, "枭" specifically refers to an "evil owl". If they did a direct translation, the nuances of the wording wouldn't be present as they are in the Chinese title. This is just my best guess as to why they didn't do a direct translation for this drama title a native speaker of Chinese.
In terms of why they named it "Love on Turquoise Island", I'm guessing that "turquoise island" is from the original title, as "青" means blue/green, giving us turquoise, and "壤" means, earth, soil, etc. in which "island" would be a relating word/almost synonym(ish) for. As for "Love on", I have no clue why they decided to do that"
Again, don't take my word for the truth, these are just my best and most logical guesses.

idk, does anyone else feel the same?
