The so called "normal" itself depends on cultural and social standards. For example what West perceives as normal weight will be seen as fat in eastern countries. So just because you see perversion in innocent things doesn't mean that rest of us will have the same mindset.

Honestly feels like you are the one who is infantilizing the FL and judging her by your cultural standards. She's supposed to have the mentality of a sheltered teen during her early days but you are the one who sees her as a four year old kid despite her being a grown ass woman.

She's very young when compared to other characters in the show and she acts her age. I don't understand the hate toward naive/cute female characters by (predominantly) western audience. Thank god for (some) eastern cultural standards because otherwise we would be stuck with "strong" female characters who are unsympathetic and unpalatable. I mean, there's a reason why Hollywood has become unwatchable these days.

I think she finally understood that she had only one destiny -- she had to die in order to kill evil God, to bring everlasting peace. She didn't want to hurt DFQC again which is why she pretended to not know him. She wanted him to move on. Obviously she had no other choice but to fight because evil God would have eventually destroyed everything including DFQC.

I bet the marriage was about true love/true bloodline invoking her power. Notice how she gained her full power only after she kissed her true love and how he too leveled up his powers. So she wouldn't have gained power even if she had married chengheng .

Women aren't a separate species. They are human. They aren't flawless beings you know? Actresses can suck and fans can call them out. People can dislike a character. You act like people are not supposed to dislike a female actor/character for any reason and you see misogyny where none exist. It gets grating to read after a while.

You also forget that its mostly women who post negative comments about female characters in general. So you are ultimately thought policing other women and asking them to align with your personal opinions. Its ironic really.

Fwiw, I have no opinions on FL in this drama. I like the actress who plays empress and see better chemistry between her and ML. I will give FL a chance despite her lackluster appearance in the trailer.

Yeah that other person is crazy obsessed about age-gap. Their comments are rude and borderline abusive. I tried to talk to them logically but now I'll just block them. Not worth my time.

Have you watched the rational life? It's older woman/younger man romance with Dylan Wang as ML. The real life age gap was 19 years and they still had great chemistry,

In the novel, Dylan's character actually has a relationship with the empress. He's her pet and that's how he gets his power. Dunno if the show will keep that aspect but its there in the source material.

Have you watched this show called the rational life? Dylan is the ML and FL is 19 years older than him. When the show was filmed he was 21 and she was 40. And tell you what? They had great chemistry. The show was well liked and was a hit.

Btw, in the novel Dylan's character actually "services" the empress. That's how he gets the power. I wonder if you know that.
