I actually use "relative" ratings: My most favorite dramas get a 10, and based on them I rate other dramas. Of course, that are other factors to be considered, but as long as a drama is entertaining, has a story and characters that makes sense and the acting is bearable, it will probably get 9+ from me. I sometimes re-rate dramas on my list, though, mostly to adjust the relative rating.
I am 100% rooting for the president - even if I don't agree with most of the things he do - for the simple reason that he character's writing and portrayal is amazing!! This drama is actually growimg on me, although it doesn't come close of the greatness that was Forest of Secrets... The only thing that bother me a little is the overemotional portrayal of SeungWoo's disability, but it is just my personal taste and it is kind of realistic, I think - at least they included a character with a disability here.
He is also a part of the cast in Youth over Flowers in Africa (travel reality show) with the R1988 cast... Just saying for those who enjoy reality stuff too...
I think the thing I hate the most in romance dramas is when the couple has no commitment to their relationship - so they break up because of a misunderstanding/ to protect each other/ someone ordered it..
So that basically means I hate almost every kdrama couple. That is why I really treasure those dramas where the main couple is always there to each other, because they are a exception to the rule
I am not really sure if I should watch it or not... the movie is so beautiful... They changed the story and the characters so much for the drama that it shouldn't really be called a remake...
I have to agree with the top 3 characters ... just thinking about them makes me smile.. I was blown away by Park BoGum acting in Moonlight, He was so good!! I completely fell in love with his character It is a pity that the cringeworthy cross-dressing stuff + the puppy-eyed acting of the main girl annoyed me so much that not even PBG could make me keep watching the drama...
It is interesting how beauty standards work... I live in a place where there are no asians and with very different beauty standards, so most things Koreans like are the opposite for me. I mean, I find double-eyelids unattractive, V-lines weird, big round eyes scary, and now that I finally know what it means to have a small face, I get that they totally creep me out... I do think So Ye Ji, Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Sung Kyung are really beautiful, though
I really like Can You Hear My Heart? It is a hidden gem of a drama, and it's revenge aspects are really entertaining... Also, The Incarnation of Money is the funniest revenge drama I've ever watched ( but it is not for everyone) . It is really unique too, since it has strong satirical/black humor characteristics.
The worst is Innocent man because he's not innocent at all. I hated that drama I gave it 1/10. Yellow Boots is…
Well.. I think there is a translations issue there, because the korean title actually means Nice Man or Good Man, what I think is fitting... (I actually love this drama too, but I can't say I ak impartial. It is Song Joong Ki!!)
What really distracts me in some scenes is the waste - People are sitting in front of of a full table and leave without eating/ drinking anything . Or worse, they go inside a bathroom and spend 5 minutes looking at the mirror/ crying their eyes out/ talking on the phone WHILE THE WATER IS RUNNING!!
My #1- Crappy Kiss Scenes: The Korean entertainment industry seems to pride itself on kiss scenes since they give…
Well... In my country nobody owns dishwashers... I don't think you can even find it to buy unless you are in a really big store in a big city, but I've never seen one actually...
I really liked this drama... I usually hate melos because if the overacting and exagerated unidimensional characters. Secret and Nice Man were the only melodramas I enjoyed completely, and I have been since then trying to find a drama that gave me the same feeling (never did, though). I don't know if it is the acting or the writing, these melos felt kind of balanced to me. I could sympathize with the characters, and wanted to see their stories.
The main actor here kinda looks like Park SeoJoon... coupled with his acting skills, it almost makes me want to watch lakorns just to see his other works :-)
So... are the main actors portraying an alternate universe version of themselves?? I mean, the names are the same... Looks like this is going to be fun...
This drama has not-so-great acting that could be improved with better directing, directing issues that could be lessened with a better plot, and an unsatisfying plot that could be overlooked if the acting was better...
I was entertained, though, and watched it all without skipping a lot, so it is not that bad :-)
This is a nice drama with a nice romance, nice plot, nice comedy and nice acting... It is really, you know... Nice. I loved the chemistry of the couple in the first half of the show, but it felt off to me when they became a couple. The more romantic scenes felt a little unconfortable and tense to me, and I always had the feeling that the mc was more into the romance the the fc. I also wish they had focused more in the family⁄office stuff and less in the romance, but I guess I can't complain too much since it is a romcom
It is a nice watch if you are a fan of the leads, but it is not a great drama. It is not bad either, just kind of bland ... Personally, I am a fan of both NGM and HJE, but this is the drama I liked less from both of them. It even loses to Beautiful Goong Shim and Lucky Romance, because the characters were more interesting in these dramas.
I am actually interwsted in the Zero Members, but it is ep 18 and they almost didn't appear... I wish they would spend less time in the love triangle and more in the actual plot...
