Fans of the cast members will probably enjoy this a lot. I like the cast, but I am not a personal fan of any of them, and just went in for the dancing... and for me this show is really underwhelming till now...
Oh, Cdramas. I've started and dropped more Cdramas than any others, and that includes some really terrible lakorns…
Weird ... For some reason, for me, k-drama FLs are mostly stupid, annoying, whinny and stubborn, always bipolar and being controled by their own emotions. That is why I kind of migrated to C-dramas lately... The FLs seem more balanced and rational for me. In the dramas I've watched, at least, I could see them grow and become stronger, it is kind of refreshing... I guess it really depends on who is watching...
My fav OSTs from 2018 so far are (in no order). I loved literally almost every song in these dramas. - Prison…
Wow... You basically read my mind!! (well, the first too sentences...) PP OST is AMAZING... Heize, ZionT, Mino and Woo WonJae songs are my favorites, but everyone of them was just perfect...
I was unsure about watching this - besides the hype, there is absolutely noting that atracts me to this drama - and since I have no problems with spoilers, I decided to read this article Now I know I should watch something else - everything you pointed out are stuff that makes me want to rip my hair off when I watch dramas, and I totally hate when a drama leave me with the "Shouldn't I like it more?" feeling...
I tried watching it twice... and never got past the second episode.... I am totally in love with the main guy based in 1 episode, but why why whyyyyy they had to chose this actress???
Maybe a misconception? This isn’t mainly about revenge plot. It’s not mean to be that intricate, the evil…
The thing is, if the revenge plot is lacking, something else has to make up for it - the romance, the relationship between the characters, the acting... But here, I feel like everything is either amateurish or unidimensional or plain bad. I actually almost wasn't able to complete this drama. The last 10 episodes or so, that were supposed to be the highlight, filled with tension, were just boring, and maybe because I am new to cdramas, made no sense at all for me. This is not the worst drama I have watched, but it was really disappointing...
I still don't know what to think about this drama... I like YinXue and the Prince, and I think the chemistry between the leads is ok, but everyone else is either lukewarm or plain dumb. I like the idea of the show, but the plot is really amateurish - I've read Harlequin books with a more logical an better executed revenge plot. It it quite entertaining, but doesn't leave me crazy for the next episode.
I am surprised at how much I like this show! I liked P101, and kind of looked down on this show for being a obvious copy paste of P101 and because of the "mentors"... But the show is well made and edited and the mentors are actually competent, the trainees are talented and easier to identify and the atmosfere of the show is really nice - I mean, it really bothered me how much weight lost of the trainees lost in P101, but here, people are actually gaining weight :-)
And I REALLY LIKE THE MUSIC!! It seems chinese music and favored singing style is quite different from korean, and I personally like it better - I hate kpop obsession with high tones and high notes
I want to put this on my list (don't know about watching it, though) but I've only seen LJH in one drama before, and his acting was...really not good... How is his acting in here? Is it watchable?
I have a weird pet peeve: WASTE OF WATER!!! It makes me crazy everytime someone lets the water running to hide he/she is crying, or to fight with someone, or to brush their teeth - it really makes me skip the scene or even stop watching when it happens too many times... Another one is the old 'take responsability". I guess it is a cultural thing, but one someone is expected to take responsability for something his/her parents, siblings or great-uncle did, it is really frustrating...
I am the kind that just rewatch a couple of selected dramas 200 times (CanYouHearMyHeart, QueenInHyunMan...), but I tried rewatching a drama last week just to see if my impression about it would change - and it did! It was just a bad drama then, but now I think of it as one those it-is-so-bad-it-is-almost-good dramas - I just skipped half of the episodes this time and didn't wish to murder the characters as often as the first time :-)
Hwang Jung Eum :-) I do get why some people dislike her acting, but I think there is no other actress in Korea that can pull off the over-the-top characters she does, seriously! Besides, that woman has such a knack at choosing good projects! I've seen almost all of her dramas, and liked every one of them...
If you haven't watched yet, I think it will be worth watch if you go prepared -you should know about the overall issues of the drama and what to expect at the end - because otherwise you will probably hate the drama if the ending catch you by surprise :-)
I actually really liked this drama at first. I really don't like LJS acting and Suzy's is just kind of meh, but I really enjoyed the first half. Weird, though, It's been weeks since I got stuck in episode 8... I don't dislike it, I just lost all interest in the drama with no reason at all...
Wow... loved this.... the acting is the best part of the drama (Zhao Zanilia has oficially become my favorite asian actress ever!!) and the CG (the editing and production in general, actually) is the worst - I mean, I've seen worse, of course, but since the drama wasn't good either, it was just one more bad thing to laugh about.. here, the bad CG is a crime! I will have to read the novel now, to know the full story...
Edit: I am reading the novel now, and the fact that she is kind of eight years old there is making me reeeally unconfortable...
I'm trying to decide if I should watch this, so may I ask--in what way is the romance annoying. Just a perceived…
Personally, I didn't see any chemistry between the leads after they became adults... coupled with some cringe-worthy acting during the emotional stuff and really annoying conflicts due to the fact the leads had different beliefs and values (I am trying not to spoil anything here), it almost made me give up... But the "super hero" storyline is cool, so i'd say, watch it anyway, even if you have to skip the romance :-)

I am kinda curious now, though...
