In episode 22 right now, and all I can say is, it has been a long time since I've been so dumbfounded by the writing of a drama... I feel like I have to turn off my brain to be able to keep watching this!! It was actually ok in the beginning, what did they do with this show???
Edit: I am impressed... This is the first time I watched a drama that has everything but one thing that I hate in dramas... This is a record!
Wait.... so did they change the characters/plot or something ??
They did... the original plot had something about blindness, but they took it off... I don't know if it is for the sake of secrecy or if they really changed the drama's original plot though, since the trailers keep hinting at something.
I thought this was a story about how a couple goes through hell and high water together, but seeing that her marriage only happens really late in the drama gives me a different perspective on it... For some reason it brought Jane Eyre's story to my mind, and made me really want to watch it :-)
I've tried and tried to watch it. It feels very dreary. It mostly feels depressing. A drama should have some positives…
That is exactly how I feel. I like the politics, the different views, the questions it arise... but everytime I watched an episode I'd end up tired. Everybody just seems to be depressed and exhausted, unhappy. Except for president Gu and his secretary, my feelings for all the characters are mostly an overall dislike and some random wishes to shake them up a little...
"Where stars land" and "Strong Woman DBS" both have this trope, and I really like how the leads act trying to conquer the women. They don't scare the hell out of them first but are pretty straightforward with their feelings
This ending seriously annoyed me... they kind of tied the loose ends, but in the most cliche and lazy way possible. Argh!!! I was planning on binge-watching it after a couple of weeks, but now my enthusiasm is gone...
To bad this is ending, wish for the 2nd couple to show us some fluffy moments..But..I can't believe there are…
I think they answered f) she is adopted - at least this is the meaning I got from all the I-met-my-parents-in -winter monologues The other questions though....
I really hope this ends with Seo Yeon coming to terms with his disability otherwise I'm not really sure what sort…
Exactly! I am kind of afraid of how they are going to end it because we have only 2 episodes left - too little time to change his mentality... If they bring some sort of miracle solution, this is going totally ruin the best show of the year for me...
I don't like it either, but I kind of understand why he acted that way... he was terribly frustrated because of…
I see your point....personally, I was waiting for he to do something really stupid, though... I feel like, as you said, his actions were showing more and more how messed up he is, so I don't think it was really surprising... I am more curious about the consequences of his actions now, because there will be consequences
I am kind of disappointed in Sooyeon after episode 12. The fact that he beat up the guy that cut Yeoreum's hand…
I don't like it either, but I kind of understand why he acted that way... he was terribly frustrated because of his limitations and stressed out because of the situation. I don't think it was because the guy hurt Yeoreum and he wanted to make him pay, buy more because his own feelings were a big mess and he ended up making a stupid decision. We can see he regreted it too. I actually like the writers included such a scene, because it shows Lee SooYeon actually isn't as mature and perfect as he seemed at first... and it seems he will get in trouble because of it too
the scene when he is on a wheelchair and EVERYONE looks at him weirdly and comments and shit. This does not happen…
I don't know... things are different from place to place, so I wouldn't say it never happens. Disabilities are really stigmatized in some places. It is a kind of reaction I wouldn't expect to see in a place like Seoul, so I do agree they overdid. I' ve actually seen a lot worse in other dramas, though
Wow... I am completely obsessed with this drama... it's been a long time I fell in love with a drama like this... On a side note, Seo In Woo actions are beginning to make sense -I am really curious about what kind of shady deals he is messing with...
This drama keeps giving me flashbacks from The Greatest Love, it has the same cliches... TGL is a looot better, though (Dokko Jin e Ae Jung are an epic couple)
It is strange, I usually watch only historical chinese dramas and contemporary korean dramas. Almost never vice-versa... One of my favorite dramas is Legend of Lu Zhen. I really like how it focus more on the main character growth and less in the romance. I also liked Oh My General, it has a interesting inversion of roles we don't see anlot on dramas...

I hope I am wrong, though..

That is why I don't watch airing dramas, they stress me out....
