It’s like comparing The Outlander to The Summer I Turned Pretty 😳 they couldn’t be more different

Literally how!! How is it like moon lovers other than the fact they’re historical and a girl went back in time
She did though 😳

Gurl if a single line is not original wont people have called it out for plagiarism , its based on a manhwa and…
I wouldn’t call it plagiarism, but there are a lot of cliches and the character’s actions and dialogues are very predictable (“You can’t go anywhere, do anything, or even die without my permission”. Later, when she goes back, he’ll say “I told you to not leave without my permission.” You know, that kind of predictability and reusing lines.)

She goes back during an eclipse and her job coincidentally aligns with the needs of a king who’s remembered in history as being tyrannical. Plus, the shows starts off in a goofy manner, but it’s been teased through the book that they will separate.

Well, it has definitely borrowed a lot from those two shows, but it’s not as good. That’s what I meant.

Is it just me or does this drama come across to y’all as a mash-up between Moon Lovers & Dae Jang Geum? It’s entertaining enough, but not a single line is original. It doesn’t have the gut-wrenching star-crossed lovers story of Moon Lovers and lacks the depth of Dae Jang Geum. It’s too slap-stick to hook emotionally and the characters are too bland to root for their love story.

AHHHHH!!! Why does she scream all the time? WHO talks like that 😭 like the crazy premise but hope the FL stops being so annoying
On Bon Appetit, Your Majesty Aug 27, 2025
Very 2014-ish. I’m watching cause it’s been entertaining so far but I hope the pacing will pick up in the next episodes. If not, it’s one of those dramas you drop after 5-6 episodes

I enjoyed this one a lot! If there’s but one thing to criticize, …
…then that would be the final two episodes which felt slightly anticlimactic to me. It was still a grand finale but we saw so many new (though compelling) characters who became an antagonistic force that wasn’t one really because they were all poor minions of a bigger machinery that was left undefeated. We saw so little of the main characters, especially Doosik…I know there’ll be a sequel but considering the 4 years between the two seasons, I wish this one could’ve been satisfying on its own…

Her parents owned a hospital and she inherited their wealth. I agree, the character is so annoying…something about the way the actress portrays her irks me.

By the end of the drama, we find out that Gyeom had always been aware of his brother's depression and unconscious desire to die. He had long felt guilty that his handsome, young, and competent brother devoted his life to raising him, always putting himself last. When Ko Jun gets into—or causes—the accident, Gyeom puts everything into taking care of him.

His lack of contact with Mubee comes down to three reasons. First, he’s not the kind of person to complain or show others that he’s suffering and needs help. Second, he leaves it up to others how much they want to be a part of his life—he never urges anyone, never expects anything, and tries to avoid burdening people. Third, reaching out to her would eventually require him to explain himself. I believe he refuses to use his brother as an excuse for anything because even a neutral statement like "I'm taking care of my brother who got into an accident" would imply that his brother is a burden—a task. That would be so unfair to Jun. I understand why he never explained himself.

This was a sweet and heartwarming watch. What really broke my heart though...
...was how the drama ended with Gyeom quitting watching movies. There were so many bitter-sweet aspects in the show and this was one of them that really hit me. As someone who used to watch tons of movies because they offered a world to escape to, I was so happy and sad for Gyeom at the same time when he came to the realization that he had to start living for real. It's such a difficult decision to make, especially when life is so freaking hard.

Don't know the K-version but this was so boring and irrelevant. Only the handsome ML was nice to look at and the color palette in his butterfly garden was very pretty. For a show about artists, they could've stepped up the color grading and went harder with editing choices. I would've preferred a style-over substance drama but this just lacked both style and substance.

I truly can't understand why it's so popular in S.korea. What do they find good in it? (except the wonderful FL)
Is it though? It's only got ratings in the 3-6% range. Ep 8 hit an all-time low.

It's about time for this to get a chinese remake! It would make such a great Xanxia. It took me years to figure out that this drama was inspired by that genre. It explains why the fantasy elements were there but not really fleshed out. The premise is so good, with a few slight alterations, the budget and the top notch quality of today's productions, this would turn out sooo good. I loved it when I watched it some 10 years ago and I still do, but I'll never stop imagining how much greater this could've been...
