I'm considering starting this, but can anyone tell me about the romance so far? Because I'm worried I'm gonna think the romance is too fast/insta love, since I saw a gif on tumblr of Wayu already giggling and kicking his feet over Krit in ep 1 or 2, so I was like "aren't they moving a bit fast..." (I prefer slowburn). But maybe it's just attraction/infatuation so far in the show? which is fine.

How about you learn about media in other cultures instead of complaining and forcing your Western lens on other cultures. Plenty of romance shows in Japan, whether gay or straight, don't have any kissing scenes, and that doesn't make them any less romantic. Weird of you to think that people can only tell a queer story if it includes physicality, like what about gay asexuals for example? How ignorant that just because someone who is in love/a couple doesn't behave the way you see as normal, then suddenly that's wrong. Also, it's not a movie, it's a series.

many people do call this one a BL though? but the reason why it's not called that by the production/Netflix is probably just because they don't want it to be put in a box, they probably want people to go into it with an open mind, maybe even having the love story aspect be a surprise to some people, which I think is kinda cool. There are also some people who think the BL label can only be used for romance shows centered on the romance, whereas I feel like this one is more about their individual lives and struggles as well, so maybe by calling it a BL, people would go into it with wrong expectations. I agree though, that way too many BL fans care too much about kissing and sex scenes.

They should have only cast people who were bi/pan/fluid, this whole "everyone's sexuality is a secret" thing was bullshit. It confused people, made some people scared to confess and made other people not even consider the possibility of certain people liking them. Dating shows are hard and confusing enough for the contestants without this added.
