and now that i think about it, the subtle hope on her face whenever pei wenxuan talks about their relationship status but then she closes off when he walks it back or covers it with a joke. i think he's confusing her and she doesn't know what he wants.

i'm confused. i assumed li rong likes watching pei wenxuan get jealous over su rongqing, but now it seem she's oblivious to his jealousy? that scene where she's half asleep and says 'you asked me to go to him. but then you got mad at me. what am i supposed to do?' had a sense of hopelessness. so does she not realize pei wenxuan still loves her?

people have been complaining about that on douyin. asking why the fl and ml don't have much bgm, but every time the 2ml appears it's like he's carrying loud speakers 🙃

pei wenxuan might become one of my all time favorite cdrama characters, i love him more and more with each episode.

i appreciate your thought out reply, but i don't understand what all that has to do with people claiming she cheated or people acting like she needs to start a relationship with pei wenxuan right away because she owes it to him or something. so because she wasn't patient with him in the past, she can't say no to him in this life? there are mistakes but they're regular mistakes, not mistakes to the extent where she needs to repent to him for and vice versa. my point is currently they're on an equal playing field without one owing the other anything, so it's just a guy pursuing a girl he likes. it's up to him if he wants to pursue and it's up to her if she wants to accept. however, people are so harsh to li rong because she's not accepting just yet.

i swear if su rongqing were more charismatic people wouldn't be on li rong's case as much for being in a love triangle. i'm gonna just dump the blame onto him and run lmao

the overall point doesn't make sense to me because i was only talking about her past with pei wenxuan. as for the other people, is she not trying to help everyone to the best of her ability right now?

what do other characters have to do with my comment🥲. i'm talking about how people think she needs to repent because she supposedly "cheated". and she does not need to take the blame for assuming he loved another woman because pei wenxuan thought he did too, that was a big part of his internal conflict. after qin zhenzhen dies he wants to explain that he changed his mind? i'd be doubtful too if i were li rong, i'd feel like 2nd place.

i see this brought up a lot so... i don't see what li rong needs to repent in regards to pei wenxuan for the past life (except killing him lol). they were living separate households and she was willing to divorce him but he refused, in her mind for power and political reasons. it in essence became a sham marriage, they weren't in a relationship anymore so she found someone else to spend her days with. it wasn't cheating. she never demanded pei wenxuan be celibate after their separation (in fact she didn't think he would be), that was his choice, and it's his choice now to pursue her. does that mean she NEEDS to accept him [even though we know she eventually will and i'll be cheering]? why? pei wenxuan is resolute so he's the one doing the chasing, she's more fearful, that's normal dating procedure. it seems like viewers feel she OWES pei wenxuan so she NEEDS to give into having a relationship with him right away and that's very weird sorry.

but this isn't a normal marriage and she's still anticipating he'll divorce her in a few years as per their contract. every time they argue, pei wenxuan brings up living separately and he did it again in this life. after that rain scene, she meekly asked him not to bring up separation like that again. you can see it's hard for her to let go of things only in regards to pei wenxuan because only he has the ability to hurt her that deep with just a few words. she just needs time to accept he'll never leave her before she can show her feelings.

and frankly she's not doing anything with su rongqing anymore. he's the proactive one.

li rong is still sentimental towards su rongqing because they were at the very least friends/companions their whole lives and she doesn't begrudge the current 'upright' him, it doesn't mean she has romantic feelings for him now. what she does like is watching pei wenxuan get jealous and eat his words lol. she keeps reminding him, 'weren't you the one telling me to see how things go with su rongqing, bestie 😈.' they're so funny to me so it's even funnier that they create so much discourse. so far i haven't seen li rong do anything so despicable it'd justify this much hate, she's just petty.

for real. he straight up - in the pouring rain while crying - told her he never liked qin zhenzhen but li rong still gets restless anytime those two interact. how much more obvious does she need to be.

idk i'm surprised people can't see li rong's feelings for pei wenxuan. why do you think she forgave su rongqing for killing her so easily but held a grudge all her life against pei wenxuan for just possibly maybe liking another woman lol. whatever pei wenxuan does, no matter how miniscule, matters to her more.

ok it's tiring, people need to stfu about the book and getting mad at the characters for things that have yet to happen. things that happen in the book might not happen in the show, we're here to discuss the show. just feels like people want to be know-it-alls to feel superior on this little site atp. maybe you guys can form a book club to discuss it somewhere else because you're making the environment hostile.
