ran across this comment randomly that has nothing to do with the show but just linghe lol, so let's break it down. linghe stars in idol dramas (that's equivalent to like the cw), why would you expect him to win awards. as a hater you have higher expectations for him than even his fans lol. you're acting like he's inserting himself into prestigious shows. you also act like he has a say in what scripts he accepts, he's only 4 years into his career and he has no power over the choices his company makes.

you're even statistically wrong, he's been doing incredibly well on sns rankings across the board this year since he goes viral often especially on douyin and xhs. his characters rank high on official data charts too, reaching #1 while the shows air. what's the payoff, you ask? a gucci ambassadorship, to name one, because that makes him a triple crowner in luxury fashion goods (his other two are chopard and roger vivier) which many actors in his age group or celeb even bigger than him haven't been able to achieve.

chen heyi is a bad actor. the reason why they added so many extra scenes of su rongqing was to make him sympathetic and build a 2nd ship for him and li rong. but the actor can't handle the complexity of su rongqing so he's angering viewers for having more screentime than pei wenxuan lately. the producer/writer wanted to keep the love triangle going for the 2ml at the expense of li rong's character, it only brought li rong hate for seeming 'indecisive' since pei wenxuan is so loved. mess all around.
