It means way over the top and ridiculous plot lines that can only happen in drama. I won't call this a makjang drama. The best example of a makjang drama is The Penthouse series.
I'm so confused! Ratings are 8.5 but comments slash it? Is this one of those its soooo bad its good? I'm scared…
Quite typical MDL. The ratings and the comments here are extremely biased. I don't base my viewing choice on either for a long time. A more reliable indicator for me is real life TV ratings in Korea - and it is one of the highest rated TV dramas for JTBC. So far, it has been a fun drama - but expect fillers for a drama this length.
No point criticizing other people's english. We all know that they are actors/actresses and not someone who actually lived in US (apart from the few who did in real life). At least I understand every word she said. But it is somewhat technical, and the only thing I feel is that it is unnecessarily long. They could have skipped most of it.
Why is it advertised as a Disney plus kdrama but it isn’t available for a lot of people in different countries…
Disney+ still doesn't get it - it's frustrating. Just see how Netflix is doing it with a global roll out, and getting amazing viewership numbers globally. That's how you get hype. Disney's regional rollouts just totally kill the hype.
sadly, this is brought to us by Disney+ as their official partners. We are all pissed too.
Very likely. It all depends on the streaming rights licensing. It looks like Disney+ is like Netflix where they have exclusive rights globally for first run series. In these cases, they will never get shown on other platform - legally. I believe Disney+'s first series was Snowdrop - that was 2 years ago, and it still can only be seen at Disney+.
I can’t see anybody else playing LDH mother (Ra Mi Ran). She embodies the character so well. The scene where…
I don't think so. Don't forget that Ra Mi Ran is the top billing actress in this drama (i.e. her name is the first listed for the main casts). Ra Mi Ran is very well known in Korea and also k-drama fans around the world as she has appeared in many roles before. She has also earned numerous rewards including best actress in her movie lead role in 2020.
Jan Hyuk and Jang Na Ra are two of my favourite actors/actresses. And I thought the drama would be an easy sure watch for me.
Oh boy. The first two episodes were so hard to watch. A huge big mess. The worst is that you know they were trying very hard to be funny, and it turned out not being funny at all. And I hope the team realize that the child part is NOT funny.
Someone said Ep 4 is better, and I hope I can make it to Ep 4 LOL.
Doesn't quite work for me.I was quite bored, as it takes forever for the story to progress. Some cases take like…
I just don't buy some of the events. For example, CSW's sister's death - I mean why? Sure, Jin Young Joo said some pretty nasty things, and she made some threats. But she really should know JYJ's character; I couldn't accept her dramatic reaction or even suicidal reaction. The ending was a disappointment as well. No matter what her wife said, I don't think any father would be willingly give up custody of his own son. The reason why he would switch from an accomplished pianist to a lawyer is a bit of a stretch as well - and no good reason why he would stop playing piano all together and don't even allow other people to mention it. I know he was too concentrated on his musical career at that time, but playing piano was not a direct cause of his sister's death, so his reaction is a bit extreme.
Doesn't quite work for me. I was quite bored, as it takes forever for the story to progress. Some cases take like 3 episodes with too many fillers in between. I also don't enjoy the comedy, I much prefer Cho Seung Woo in his more serious role like Sisyphus or Stranger; I don't enjoy his singing either which drags on for much too long. The three amigo is more cringey than funny.
I finish the series because I was interested in the main arc or plot, but that was disappointing as well. I'll put them under spoiler in the next post.
I think people are too harsh on this one.In general I think Kdramas have dipped in quality a lot since Squid Game…
Better get used to multiple parts release. Netflix used to be the only streaming platform releasing all episodes at once. But even they are trying to get away from that as it cannot retain subscribers.
More achievement by The Glory. Second week in a row, The Glory tops Netflix chart including both English and Non-English TV shows or movies with 123.5 million hours views. Almost double the number of #2 spot (You: Season 4). It has climbed to #7 all time top 10 for Non-English TV shows. It is destined to overtake Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Money Heist Season 3 next week to take the #5 spots. It is in top 10 in 91 countries, reaching #1 spot in 41 countries.
For overall viewers hours, The Glory is now the #4 most watched K-drama in Netflix ever. And it's only 10 days after release of Part 2.
overrated..part 1 is too boring but i enjoyed,and part 2 is more boring and nothing.part 1 - 8/10part 2 - 7/10
No drama can satisfy every one. All I can say is that just 3 days after release of part 2, it is already #9 top non English drama of ALL TIME in Netflix.
5 episodes in and so far the writing is so dumb!- How come Yeon Jin's mom is so afraid of a blackmailer? This…
Just keep watching. All I can say is don't jump into conclusion so soon. And why would the cop spend his own money to do dirty work? He wants to get paid, not spending money!
is there a season 3, please writer producer director actors of this show , please announce the third season
The story is complete, revenge done. Why season 3? The only way is for the villains to rise again. I don't want to see that. They should just rot in prison forever.
No, it was not.
It was a bitter sweet ending.
Yes, the trial was too easy, and too convenient.
But it was not done as the main part of the drama anyways.
Feels like fillers, and frustrating to watch as well.

Won't be available anywhere else.

So unnecessary!
Now a guaranteed sad ending.
