I agree! I don't think they have any romantic chemistry, but they kind of have something better than that: shared…
Exactly. Many claimed "chemistry" between Dong Eun and Do Young while I felt none. There was sexual tension for sure. But since they hardly have any interactions, and conversations between them totaled like ?3 minutes - I just can't see any "chemistry" between that 2 characters.

Did joo yeon Jung beat up the guy in prison? I think I might have skip this scene?
No, he did not. It was the lady Dong Eun approached in the temple - she "arranged" an incidence (when he got beaten up) to get him transferred to Yeon Jung's prison.
Finished watching part 2 and I think part 1 was a bit better. The preparation stage was long and tough, but the…
The romance is absolutely necessary for this drama. How else would someone be willing to help with no questions asked, and risking his whole career to do so? It was also responsible for changing the fate of DE at the end. And it was essential to allow DE to have 행복 in the end.
They probably wanted to leave the door open for the possibility of more seasons. But since this series did not…
Source of TVING ranking are from ottranking.com. It lists TVING top 10 ranking on every day except weekends. TV Ratings for cable channels are from Part 1 - yes, because Part 2 has not been shown in Korean cable channels yet. But the dropping trend from Ep 1 to Ep 6 is worrying. I never used the word "flop", you did. I also did not see any articles using the word "a hit". They were just stating that it was an achievement to be the "first" k-drama in Top 10 for Prime Video. As for trending in Japan, it was in Japanese Prime Video top 10 for only 5 days for the whole part 2 (source flixpatrol).
I was just voicing my opinion that the numbers are not very impressive, despite achieving a "first" for k-drama and not likely to have more seasons as it is a big budget production.
On the contrary, I wanted it to be a hit. I enjoyed seeing k-drama gaining international momentum just like what "The Glory" has achieved.

I have given way more facts and numbers than you did. You can believe what you want though. I have not seen any reference that Island was considered a "hit".

We can argue all day, but in the end, I don't think it has achieved enough for second season. Remember that we are talking about Prime video here, not Netflix. Its penetration in Asian market is not big apart from Japan. Top Amazon markets are US, Germany, UK and Japan. These 4 countries are responsible for 87% of Amazon revenue. And 13% is "the rest of world". And we have a few countries out of that "rest of the world". So I am not talking about importance of which market or Asian vs Western - it is the actual number of people watching. In terms of actual prime members viewership, the number can't be that much, unfortunately.
As for TVING, my source says otherwise. I believe the last 2 episodes was released on March 10? It was #10 on 3/10 for TVING, and #6 on 3/13, and #8 on 3/14.
Monster Netflix numbers - just 3 days after release, it ranks #1. (March 10 to 12) Not just non-English TV, it's #1 across every category with 126 million hours viewership. Far ahead from #2. Reached top 3 in US and UK. Amazing achievement.
This will be the norm going forward. Previously, Netflix was the only platform which releases all episodes at…
Those are not original Netflix production. There are 2 types of Netflix Originals. The Glory is the first type - entirely Netflix production. The second type is just global distribution like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which were released 2 Ep per week following Korea airing schedule; the drama itself was not made by Netflix.

It was in top 10 in some small markets/countries. Failed to break into any major markets top 10. TV ratings in Korea cable channel is not very good either. Dropping from 2.8% in Ep 1 to 1.3% in Ep 6. Many articles tried to write something out of nothing. Sure, it's the first for Prime, top 10 in some countries. But no where close to a "hit". Remember this is a big budget production.
Aargh, how frustrating to see people still commenting on the female lead's age, looks and clothing. In what world…
Probably because most viewers here did not know Jeon Do Yeon and likely watch her drama for the first time. OTOH, she is primarily a movie actress and very well known in Korea, and one of the most respected and awarded Korean actress. I do believe how much you like the actress or how well you know the actress do influence your perception of the character she portrays. I expect much less of these nonsense in Korea itself as she is an A list actress there.
Is this the end or what because I don’t get it Why would the movie fucking end like this
They probably wanted to leave the door open for the possibility of more seasons. But since this series did not do so well in ratings, and the requirement for big budget for special effects, the chance of that happening is doubtful (in my opinion).
At the hospital scene when Dong Sun was paying for Soo-Hee's freezer fees - What was the importance of Yeo Jung…
Because Dong Eun found out that Yeo Jung has become Soo-Hee's mom guardian well before they "meet again", when they were supposed to get to know each other for the first time. So Yeo Jung knew a lot about Dong Eun (from Soo-Hee's mom), and knew that Dong Eun approached him intentionally, and their "meet again" was not by chance or accident. Yeo Jung also expected Dong Eun to use him as part of her revenge - that was her original intention too, until she changed her mind and left without using him.
Dong Eun was surprised as this was unexpected, and upset that he did not tell her about his, and puzzled why he would allow her to approach him with the intention of using him.
The drama has very good quality 4K HDR version at Netflix. It also has Dolby Atmos, including very interesting use of the Atmos channels which I have not heard before. Go watch with Atmos home theatre system if you can.
Probably even Netflix and Song Hye Kyo did not know as nothing has been decided LOL

It would make no sense to you at all.
