Watching drama is like eating your favourite food. If you like, you like it. If you don't, you don't. Is it possible to ignite someone to like durian... or kimchi... I don't think so. Both are on the list of favourite food for some people, but the exact opposite for others. Your taste can change over the years, but it's not something you can "ignite".
I feel there are so many kdramas airing right now/aired recently but none of them really looks like/were that…
I don't expect a "memorable masterpiece" every season LOL. Reborn Rich was almost there until they ruin it in the last episode. Still the ride for the first 13 to 14 episodes was good while it lasted. The Glory was also great for the first half. I'll see if it can be the "masterpiece" in March.
Payback may not be the masterpiece, and it is a good watch so far, as well as Agency.
Am I the only one who thinks this drama is super overrated?? Why is so popular? It makes no sense! The plot is…
It's ok not to like it, no drama is for everyone. I personally love it, and it is one of the best drama this season. And I am looking forward to the second part. Judging by Netflix and Korean numbers, I am not alone.
I think those people have not watched a lot of kdramas before lol they are so easily amused.
It's not just international audience. It's very popular in Korea as well. It's been #1 in Netflix in South Korea since second day of its release (up till today). It's also #1 OTT streaming across ALL OTT platforms in South Korea, and that includes movies and TV shows streaming as well. Can't say Korean audience have not watched a lot of k-dramas, can you? LOL
TV Ratings in Korea has jumped from 4.8 for Episode 1 to 8.9 for Episode 4. That represents 1.9 million viewers in Korea. Could potentially become one of the hottest K-dramas currently airing. Received almost no attention here in MDL with only 1,000+ watchers and only 100+ comments :( Maybe due to lack of streaming sites?
That's not a good excuse for not correcting the gender. Subtitling is not a direct word to word translation. They often have to translate according to the context and different culture of the translated language. This simply showed that they rushed out the subtitles without spending time to making corrections.
The drama is good AF, but how long will we have to wait for season 2? Damn I dont like how they are splitting…
Unfortunately, this seems likely to be the norm for streaming platforms going forward. Netflix is now doing it for The Glory.
Not good for us, but it does work better for the streaming channels. Some people would subscribe, binge watch and then unsubscribe. This would help to hold the subscription longer.
The reason why people hate this ending is that in the end there was no "reborn", cos it was all a dream. Whatever…
I made no attempt to influence your view, I just want to point out the reason why there is so much negativity, as you said you were surprised by it. No matter how beautiful is the journey, the ending gives you lasting memory of the drama. For me, the ending leaves a bitter taste, leaves me angry. And it also influences the rewatch value of the drama. I will never rewatch Reborn Rich again because of the ending.
Like on one hand, it makes sense that we start and end the show in HW's timeline and there are many things that…
This is no proof that it was not a dream. Of course, the whole story has so many plot holes, inconsistency, unanswerable questions, that it is almost pointless to argue specific plot elements. I can probably write a few pages of "how could this be possible that......" To be certain that it was not a dream, the writer could have shown us some concrete evidence that the changes made by the reborn DJ has an effect on HW's present timeline. But of course, part of the problem with this reborn thing is that they totally ignored time travel aspect of anything they did. And you know it was a dream when HW last words questioned if it was just a dream. And that's why overwhelming majority of Korean audience hated the ending.
EAW - worst ending? The survey can be ignored then.EAW is one of the most successful and most viewed K-drama ever.
It does in rewatch numbers. EAW has massive Netflix numbers - much much higher than 2521, and one of the most viewed drama series in Netflix of all times - and I am talking among all Netflix TV shows, not just K-dramas or non-English shows. Part of those numbers are people rewatching the series. If the ending is bad like Reborn Rich, I will never rewatch that series again.
i just came back to say, wow, the kind of negativity after the last ep was aired, did surprise me. on the other…
The reason why people hate this ending is that in the end there was no "reborn", cos it was all a dream. Whatever happened in Ep 2 to Ep 15 did not matter one bit - you can jump from Ep 1 to Ep 16 and you didn't miss anything. The worst ever plot device for drama is that "it was a dream". The audience, including me, felt betrayed and cheated - wasted my time and the brilliant performance of Lee Sung Min.
I did not care about the original ending or the novel ending. I just judge this drama as is, and it is the worst ending possible.

It has pretty decent ratings in Korea.
7.8 for Payback? 7.9 for Agency?
MDL ratings are hopeless.
Watch one or two more episodes, if you don't like it, then it is not for you.
I personally love it, and it is one of the best drama this season.

I don't think this has ever happened in K-drama. Literally NEVER EVER.
That represents 1.9 million viewers in Korea. Could potentially become one of the hottest K-dramas currently airing.

Once again, MDL rating is way off.

Agency looks promising from the first 2 episodes.
