HW admitted that he was the accomplice 20yrs ago but how come he didn't get any jail sentence??
Not sure about Korea, but you can be charged in Canada under section 22 of the criminal code; and with a criminal record if convicted.
In California, you can be charged with “ Aiding And Abetting A Crime (Penal Code Section 31)” “ Finally, if you help to conceal a crime already committed (hiding stolen money or weapons used in the crime’s commission, for example), or give assistance to perpetrators of crime to help them avoid detection, arrest or prosecution, you can be charged as an “accessory after the fact.”
In these situations, you are culpable under the accomplice liability theory because you knew of the illegal plan and willfully did something to cause it to be carried out or concealed.‘
“ An aider and abettor generally faces the same criminal charges under California’s Penal Code as the direct perpetrator. If convicted, he typically also faces the same penalties. In a murder case, for example, an aider and abettor typically faces life in prison just as does the one who commits the actual killing.‘
When HW did was clearly concealing a murder (hiding the audio recording), not a simple case of not reporting something he saw.
HW admitted that he was the accomplice 20yrs ago but how come he didn't get any jail sentence??
He was a murder accomplice. When he knew that it was a murder plot and decided not to report it, he became an accomplice for the murderer to get away. In murders, unless it's self defense, it does not matter if you did it knowingly or not, you will be charged and fate decided by the court.
The fact that he came away with no consequence, either legally or socially (actually even become successful career wise) is unsatisfactory. Not much repentance to me.
I absolutely hate the ending. It basically negates everything from Ep 2 to Ep 15.And yes, the ending ruined the…
The worst plot device ever in drama is that "it is all a dream". Because basically nothing happened, nothing matters, it's all in HW's head. Nothing about the brilliant decision based on future knowledge happened, all the excitement, plot twist etc did not happen.
So it totally invalidates Ep 2 to 15 as nothing in those episodes matter at the end of the day. Did HW need those "reborn" experience? Not really. When you are shot, pushed off the cliff, got blamed for stealing money, anyone would be pushed to take revenge, and yeah he would conveniently suddenly remember the audio recording after being shot in the head..... Own journey and redemption? 14 episodes of dreaming? Gosh, what a waste of the whole drama - and my time!
No, the drama never gave any hint or clue or confirmation that any of those reborn experience actually took place…
Though the story was inconsistent in this respect, but basically, the real DJ did say those words. And in of the many plot holes, how can the real DJ do the things which can only be done with the future knowledge? There is no answer to that. So the part about FL's memories you mentioned, there is no indication that reborn DJ did anything different from the real DJ.
So i noticed it's not a good ending. Any clarification without revealing spoilers?
I don't like the ending one bit. It is the worst type of plot device used in drama possible. There, can't give you much more without spoilers. I honestly cannot recommend anyone to watch it as the ending gives me bitter feeling about the whole drama.
HW admitted that he was the accomplice 20yrs ago but how come he didn't get any jail sentence??
It is one of many things which did not make sense at all. Not only was he not punished, even the FL acted as if it was ok too, after she has been searching for answers for 20 years, and she felt fine smiling at the murder accomplice of her ex-boyfriend.
They broke up 2 YEARS ago. Tae Hee doesn't really owe her anything. Is it nice to get an explanation when someone…
You are extremely sympathetic towards the ML, for me, not so much. Of course, he can do whatever he wants. He did not commit any crime. But he did dump his fiancé for no good reason, he basically ghosted her right before the wedding. I don't think Chung Ha did anything wrong. This is not attachment problem. She is trying to find answers from someone who disappeared without a word or explanation and whom she has loved for 10 years and at the verge of getting married From my point of view, despite whatever excuse he might have, ML was totally inconsiderate and irresponsible.
Repentance. If it is repentance, then Yoon Hyun Woo lived an imaginary life as Jin Do Joon for a week, while being…
No, the drama never gave any hint or clue or confirmation that any of those reborn experience actually took place or not, or if anything has been changed. There are just too many unanswered questions and plot holes. The worst possible plot in dramas is "just a dream", as nothing that happened matters at all. This just ruined the whole drama. I won't recommend this to anyone.
To me, it was way below decent. How can it be decent when everything which takes place between Ep 2 to Ep 15 became…
I disagree. You got shot, pushed off a cliff, left for death, and got blamed for stealing the money…. Anyone would be pushed to revenge. And he didn’t even need any knowledge he got from the reborn experience, he got the ultimate weapon - the audio recordings! So in effect, you can watch Ep 1 then jump to Ep 16, everything would follow and nothing important is missing. The only part is partnering with Mr Oh - and that bit is extremely unrealistic anyways. Who would get persuaded by a random stranger with high school credentials, to come out of retirement and take on Soonyang, and it took like 10 min talks and a box of donuts.
The most annoying thing about this show is how everyone seems to ignore/not realize the resemblance between Hyunwoo…
The resemblance maybe only to the audience, and not to the characters in the story. Remember that they are two totally different characters - no genetic relationship. The only reason why they look alike is because they use the same actor for HW and the reborn DJ. Even if they do look alike in the story - so what? They are still two totally different people with no relationship to every characters in the story. As the "reborn" experience probably never actually took place, it doesn't really matter in the end.
Omgggggg I am seeing the rating change from 9.0 -> 8.9 -> 8.8 -> 8.7, I have a feeling that the rating will go…
Even 8.7 is overrated. The ending basically ruined the whole show. This has nothing to do with the novel ending. I did not read the novel, and I don't care how it ends there. I just judge the drama's ending as is - and it is one of the worst ending possible. For sure, the performance up till the last 2 episodes was brilliant. However, the ending is the one which shapes your overall impression of the show. And now my memory of this show was a bitter feeling because of the ending, negating all the achievement of the performance of the cast.

Many also believe it was JSM’s voice.
Their voices are quite alike.

The best part is when he was reborn, obviously.
The problem is that the only best part was when he was reborn.
