It is a bit slow though. Would have been a much better drama if there were 10 or 12 episodes. There were a few episodes with no story progression. Way too much flash back.
I don't get why Sam Dal's mother is blamed for Yong Pil's mother death. She was going to dive alone. It was Yong…
Because the weather was going to turn bad, and Yong Pil's mom ignored the warning. They are never supposed to dive alone, so her friend felt the need to accompany her. Whether she should be blamed was another question, but no we don't use "petty" when fatal accidents are involved.
This is definitely gonna happen. Almost 20% TV ratings on a channel like ENA was insane. They're gonna milk this…
No matter how much ENA or the producer want another season, if Park Eun Bin doesn't sign on, it's not going to happen. And why should she? What does she has to gain after winning all the awards in Season 1?
The rifles in 17th century Joseon cracked me up 🤣🤣😂
Muskets and cannons were already widely available in late 16th century in Ming dynasty. So its use in Qing invasion was not a joke. I did not pay attention to any rapid firing, nor did I care. Seriously, you can name tons of other things if you want to nitpick - like none of the makeup the actors/actresses used were available in Joseon; no man would wear lipstick at that time etc etc
The quality of translation to English is very low. Sorry to say that.I appreciate the effort, maybe soon there…
This english sub is from machine auto-translation. If you have used Youtube's auto translate, you would know what to expect. For better sub, wait for the fansub.
The duration of every episode It's 40mn or 60 mn ???????????????????
It varies, between 37 min to 40 min in later episodes and 50+ min in earlier episodes. This is quite unfortunate as you can feel that Disney purposely stretched it out to 20 episodes, and the episodes ending sometimes feel random and don't always land on cliff hangers as a proper paced 16 episodes thriller drama usually does.
He is not the main character or even main side character in webtoon and the drama is following the webtoon pretty…
He IS the main character, and top 3 billing for this drama. For K-drama, you just need to look at the promotion poster. Where does he stand and how big is his head :) ? Side by side with Han Hyo Joo, and both behind Ryo Seung Ryong.
Do you guys think they secretly are making a second season, or already made one? I heard they filmed for a whole…
No, that's not possible. All the projects by all the actors/actresses are known and announced. This was finished filming last year, and many were busy with other projects in dramas and movies. There is no way they can do it "secretly". And renewing a new season is big news, and they would certainly announce it with as much hype as they can get.
The production was probably a bit longer than it was intended as the production company changed from JTBC to Disney in the middle of production.
While I enjoy the main characters and main story lines, the excessive flash back and "back stories" do diminish my enjoyment a bit. The last 2 episodes lasting only 40 and 37.5 min were also an insult - clearly just to stretch it out to 20 episodes.
Back story and flash back for the main characters are fine, but a 30 min flashback for the teacher? Right in the middle of a tense build up at the school? It really disrupts the pace and it is so unnecessary. Similarly Ep 14 was not needed, and not much happening in Ep 15.
I wonder if the odd episode length and occasional random episode ending without a cliff hanger is related to the fact that this was originally a JTBC production, and probably had 16 episodes in mind. The Disney take-over probably forced the team to make it a 20 episodes with these shortened episodes.
Airtime is an issue. This definitely would have been 18 EPs at most but it became 20 because of the airtime. Anyways,…
How so? Netflix releases all episodes at once for its own production, or at most in 2 batches like The Glory. The only exceptions are those which air in Korea and Netflix being a distributor - in that case, it follows the airing date in Korea (2 episodes per week).
If you want to see what "out of this world" is, check out "Work Later, Drink Now".
Rewatch the first 10 seconds of the start of each episode.
And no, you haven't wasted your time.
Seriously, you can name tons of other things if you want to nitpick - like none of the makeup the actors/actresses used were available in Joseon; no man would wear lipstick at that time etc etc
There is an official Taiwan version release which has Chinese sub.
For better sub, wait for the fansub.
There is no official english sub version. So you have to hope for a fansub.
