Idk why this drama is not doing it for me :( I love the actors but the story is just not pulling me in idk why…
I watch it because of the story, and want to know how it would end. The main problem for me is that I don't particularly like any of the characters. So I have no one to root for. But at the same time, I probably won't feel bad no matter how it ends.

Wonder if Vietnam's viewers feel the same way? Little Women has been the #1 top Netflix TV show in Vietnam for a while, it is still #1 as of yesterday, even after the controversial episode.
I have learned not to care about MDL ratings, which really is of no consequence in the real world. My choice of…
I guess some people can hate the show and still finish watching the series, but that's very rare. TV ratings and viewership is universally accepted as one of the best popularity indicators.
And which part of my comments gave you the impression that you are not entitled to your opinion? Of course you can. Do remember that this is a public forum. So even though my comments followed yours, they are not private messages, and what I wrote is for everyone checking out this forum.
The ratings here is weird, and unreliable. That's why I posted real world data which is much more reliable and a better indication of the popularity this show around the world.
Even as of last week, 6 weeks after the series has ended, EAW still positioned at #5 in weekly most viewed non-English TV shows in Netflix, and #10 overall for English+Non-English TV shows with 13.3 million hours viewed.
And that's the problem. Everyone has different standard in rating the drama. You think that's fair, I think that's way underrated. And that's why I have stopped paying attention to MDL's ratings.

On the contrary, Netflix viewership and Korean TV ratings are the most accurate representation of how many people liked the show. Those are real objective data. Hype can only do so much for short period of time. It works well for show that have all episodes released at the same time like Squid Game. People can binge watch the whole series right at the start.
For weekly release series like EAW, continued popularity is shown by Netflix numbers climbing and breaking records week after week. If it was just hype, the number would drop after a few weeks, and people would lose interest. Eve's TV ratings was pretty bad actually, hype or not.
EAW is now one of the most watched TV shows on Netflix globally - not just for K-dramas, for any TV shows in Netflix history. So if this show doesn't deserve the hype and praise, I don't know which show would.
Btw, in August article it was said that this drama has 16 episodes, MDL shows that it's 14 🤔 An error?August…
You last link showed that it's 14 episodes at the date/ratings table. Zh wiki also says 14 episodes, as the next drama "The Police Station next to Fire Station" is set to start on Nov 11.
!!!!! HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD !!!!!Well, I agree the ending felt rushed, another extra episode would have done it…
For me, it is not just the rushed ending. Too many things don't make sense at all. Some viewers like you can look past all the plot holes, but I find it frustrating that I have to ignore my common sense to accept the plot.
Miho's death is medically improbable. First, radiation does NOT cause lymphoma, and Stage IV lymphoma is not terminal, there is 64% 5 year survival rate. Doha' death and all the prisoners projecting blood to their sudden death can only be caused by Acute Radiation Syndrome, and it takes insane amount of radiation to do that. Nobody died like that in Fukushima Nuclear Melt down. And NK Chemical simply cannot generate that much radiation unless they are enriching Uranium or have a nuclear reactor melt down inside. And if that water has that much radiation to kill Doha, PCH would have died standing next to it (so would all the workers who helped transporting the water to fill the pool).
They spent so much time and effort to get elected to be a mayor - for what? Mayor doesn't give you much power, even if elected, they still won't be able to take down the villain. All the talk about the serial killer son, contacting him and bringing him back... and then nothing. All the supposedly powerful figures, BM, Kang... ended up being such easy targets. And if BM was so powerful, why did he end up in jail in the first place? PCH was an incompetent lawyer (and a dumb/naive one too, the way he blackmailed Ji Hoon at the start), and he magically transformed into the smartest leader.
It was good fun guessing who was BM, and at the start, you didn't know if someone was acting dumb, but once everything is revealed, it was a big disappointment.
The ratings are dropping 😅 After all the hype and praise...
I have learned not to care about MDL ratings, which really is of no consequence in the real world. My choice of which drama to watch is also based less and less on MDL ratings, as I disagreed with many of them, and trust it less and less. The sentiments here also don't reflect the general public either. The only thing which matters is that EAW's impressive viewership numbers in Netflix continue to climb now almost 1+m after the series has ended. This is real world data and evidence of how many people like this show, it is not just "hype".
It's supposed to be "loosely" based on the novel Little Women.....And I can't see even a hint of resemblance except…
Can anyone tell me which part or element of the story is "adapted" from the novel? Apart from the title and a story about sisters, I can't see anything else remotely related even with the context of different era.
I just noticed its on Dysney plus Us and Canada now. Is it wotrh watching ?
I personally would not recommend it. It started off great, and you would enjoy the first 9 or 10 episodes. Then it went downhill fast with the most disappointing ending of the year. But if you don't mind plot holes and rush endings, then go ahead?
the story is like that till the end and that's exactly why i liked it. these type of dramas are probably not your…
This is not My Mister. I loved My Mister and enjoyed the whole drama. For this, I started because of the high ratings. And I am struggling to continue after 2 episodes.
actually you got it wrong. She didn't die because she ignorant. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I won't be…
Nah, Lymphoma doesn't kill you like that. We are talking about days to a week or two between she knew about the diagnosis, and she died. Treatment can absolutely wait until the election was over. Most newly diagnosed lymphoma takes weeks of investigations before deciding on what treatment to give. That's the reason why I said the ending was ridiculous, nothing made sense. The writers were too lazy to find out more about the illness they wrote.
Another example - it is simply impossible for NK Chemical to produce so much radiation - unless there is nuclear power plant inside or they are enriching Uranium. And Do Ha cannot die like that except having Acute Radiation Syndrome. That would take insane amount of radiation (no one died like that in Fukushima Nuclear melt down), and if that water has that much radiation, PCH would have been killed standing there.
And what's the deal with the whole election thing? Being a mayor doesn't give you much power, and no chance of taking down the villain even if elected.
Of course you can say it's just drama. But I hate ridiculous plot that force me to ignore my common sense to accept the story.
Big news or Fake news?Link or it doesn't happen. What cultural appropriation? What the hell are you talking about?
Preach in your Chinese forums. Live in your delusion. I honestly don't give a damn about how popular C-drama in 3rd world countries (and strange from someone who talks about money is everything). Yeah leave us and all the "little lives" in this forum alone. You watch your C-Drama, I watch my K-drama, OK? And please stop going into K-dramas forums when you hate K-dramas so much.

Please explain why you want to troll here? If you have no good reason, please stop. Nobody cares what you or I post here. This forum is supposed to be about AoS and none of the discussion so far is related to that.

You still haven't given any example of C-drama impact outside China? Or did I miss anything? As usual, you start bringing in unrelated things like Movies and Hollywood when we are talking about drama???? Sure, Korean movies "suck", they just won a few Oscars - Best Picture, Best Director, that's all.

Why are you talking about movies suddenly when I thought we were discussing K-pop and K-drama??? This is site is called "kisskh", no? This forum is AoS - a drama, no? Why do you bring in Hollywood and China's movie production???

I have talking about Art Style, geesh; not history of animations [facepalm] The drawing style of Genshin is pure Japanese Anime. Of course, you would argue Japanese Anime comes from China, whatever.
