This is so cringy. Whoever was the marketing manager, they deserve a raise for making this drama a fake hit. We…
It's ok that you don't like this drama, everyone has different taste. But it beats me why you would want to diminish its achievement by using terms like "fake hit" or "sheeps"? Totally uncalled for.
And there is nothing fake about it. We can argue all day whether it is good or bad. But you cannot argue with data and numbers. EAW is a genuine global block buster hit. The numbers are through the roof. It's one of the top most viewed K-dramas world wide ever!
Sorry but this drama definitely doesn't deserve such a high score, as a legal drama, the cases weren't interesting…
Unlike other legal drama, all the cases are based on real court cases in Korea. So yes, it may not be as "interesting" or "intricate" because this is real life. It's your preference how you feel about this drama. But it fully deserves the high score (if anything, the rating here is too low) based on objective data like TV ratings, viewership numbers, buzz score, Gallup polls which are all record breaking.
okayish drama female lead acted so well but after 10 episodes its all lag.male lead character is very poorly written.don't…
It's your preference whether you like this drama or not. But this is not "hyped". A lot of people loved EAW as evidenced by the TV ratings and record breaking Netflix viewership numbers around the world.
What an overrated legal drama. What's great is it's only due to FL, the legal cases which forms the big part of…
Hyena is pure fiction. In EAW, all cases were based on real court cases in Korea. Some prefer the excitement of pure fiction, everything exaggerated and dramatized, evil villains etc that would never happen in real life. OTOH, many praised EAW for its realistic portrayal of lawyers' life in Korea. I like the realistic cases, and down to earth stories and characters for a change. A bit tired of all the corrupt characters, ultra-rich-can-make-anything-happen-with-money type of plot lines in every other dramas.
EAW remained at the top of Netflix 2 weeks after it ended! And not only it ranks #1 for Non-English TV. It also ranks #1 overall for English + Non-English combined list.
Its run at Netflix is really "extraordinary", especially for a drama with no English Dub. The total viewing hours now totaled 506 million hours. And 393 million hours within first 28 days.
The cases wasnt that interesting and quite predictable but the quirkiness of the drama is love by its audiences.…
Most of the cases are based on real court cases in Korea. So yes, it is not exciting like murders or serial killers type of cases, but they are realistic in what lawyers in Korea have to deal with.
well i wish I can watch this drama again like a new watcher but I can't so patiently waiting for season 2 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜…
The only person who is sure about the second season is the CEO. No one else has signed on. Obviously, the key character is PEB. When you see the news that PEB has signed on, then you can be sure. At this point, she is not too keen to do a second season. So it's not looking very likely at this point.
Also It's honestly funny while everywhere the show is getting rave reviews but the page here is so messy but again…
I totally agree. I slowly learn to ignore the comments and ratings here, as they don't reflect the real world audience. The cry for "character development" is insane here. Why should there be "development" for every character? I love it the way it is. For me, I want more WYW, and less distraction from "development" from other characters. It's a perfect drama for me.
That was kinda underwhelming. The series was VERY promising. Interesting female lead, non-toxic and absolute green-flag…
The are two types of "Netflix Originals", one that is produced by Netflix like Squid Game (less than 1 hour per episode, less than 16 episodes per season, release all episodes at once, English Dub on release). The other type is just global distribution rights like EAW - in this case, Netflix has almost no influence on the script and production, as they sometimes signed on when everything was finalized. So no, the push for "Season 2" has nothing to do with Netflix, and it's unlikely to happen anyways.
Guys, still wondering the meaning behind the title ' Soul Marriage' Is there anything special behind it? Does…
It's a mistranslation. Korean title has always been 환혼 (Hwanhon). When you put this into Google translate or other translator, it can give different meanings depending on context. 환혼 itself literally means "Return of the Soul"; but in the context of the drama, the closest meaning is "Resurrection". Before the official English title "Alchemy of Souls" was decided, many just used translated text of 환혼 from translators, and that's why you see a confusing array of english titles.
Pity that you don't share the joy of watching one of the BEST drama in 2022 and the ALL TIME most viewed K-drama…
Geez, that's the best you can come up with for a response? As I said many times before, we all have our opinion on each show, and we can argue all day.
What we can't argue is stats, numbers, nominations and awards. My opinion or your opinion don't matter at the end of the day, and nobody cares. But ratings and viewership is what brings money and fame, and that's what counts.
EAW has just been nominated for APAN awards, best drama, best director, best actress. Maybe those APAN nomination judges should "get a life" too?
Yeah the true Naksu would rather die 1000 deaths than to be regulated to a house maid wife. The way the plot gives…
The original goal for Naksu was revenge and to kill all those responsible for her father's death. So getting her power back was utmost important. But she then found out that her dad was a soul shifter and he was responsible for killing everyone in her family. So she basically just lost the goal she trained for in her whole life. And getting her power back was not so important any more as there was no more revenge (and she didn't know the real story of why her dad became a soul shifter and who was behind it). She subsequently fell in love, and she was willing to leave everything behind to live with her loved one. And there was always this lingering doubt if when she regained her power and became out of control as a soul shifter, she could hurt/kill JU unknowingly. That's convincing for me.

This is a legal drama, so not sure what you meant by "unnecessary cases".
So yes, it may not be as "interesting" or "intricate" because this is real life.

I would feel cheated if they use the multiple personality cop out.
