I agree about the constrast between certain scenes. I like political plots and don’t mind them but the way the episodes are structured in this drama makes it really hard to follow that storyline . Like one moment you are watching local village drama and blissful domestic life between the two characters and suddenly in the next scene you see some random officials talking about war and provisions. Meanwhile our main characters are just chilling in the countryside…I hope this contrast becomes less noticeable as the story progresses

I also wish I dropped it after episode 22 because it got soooo boring afterwards. They dragged the big reveals so much it kinda lost its impact afterwards and that “plot twist”??? Annoyed me to no end.Also the relationship got so wishy washy for no reason. It is visually stunning series, that what got me through it and the plot was fairly decent up until the certain point. nothing revolutionary but still fun and entertaining but it took a nosedive so quickly….

Jewelery and hair pieces are so beautiful in this drama and the way they coordinated them with the outfits is so satisfying to look at. Especially Ming yi’s rings. Does anybody know if they exclusively made them for the drama or just used the existing ones from the other sets?

What is happening with this site.Every time I check the new drama their ratings are going down drastically whilst reviews and comments are mostly positive. I don’t understand…I know ratings on here are mostly biased and inaccurate but it has not been this bad

I also share your sentiment and that threw me off a little bit. I strongly believe that you shouldn’t establish any type relationship with your patient who you first meet in professional settings be it romantic or even platonic (this is a bit extreme but it is just my personal opinion).I understand the cultural differences but still she is a patient seeking a professional for an advice. And his thought process during those said sessions was a little bit weird and again unprofessional. But whatever it is just fiction let’s suspend our beliefs and enjoy the show for what it is. However even after that the storyline is very superficial. I just don’t understand why ML gets so fixated on FL. And the main reason why I have trouble understanding the ML’s feelings for FL is because his whole character is based around his dedication to his work. You would expect from this type of character to have some strict boundaries with his patients so I don’t understand why he gets so involved with this random girl LOL. I think it would have been better if they knew each other before like old classmates who lost touch or something similar. Like imagine them having a reunion and after a few drinks FL opens about her problems and ML suggests a visit to his clinic.That would have been so cute and less uncomfortable .Anyway end of the rant.

By the first season she becomes his concubine.They kinda were forced into this situation but both of them were cool at the end. ML was all giddy planning their wedding and FL was content as well. As long as her life and business is protected she is fine with it. They also indirectly confess their feelings. That probably will be more important in second season

No it is not true. He does love her romantically and also deeply cares for her. It’s just that romance plot is very subtle and takes time to develop.There is no grand scene which marks the start of their romantic relationship(at least for now I am on 28 episode). They constantly interact with each other joke with one another and have a silly banter. If you really want the episode mark you could say around 15th episode.

jiang Chan yang finding any and every reason to dine with Wei fang, giggling under his ridiculous fan when she is putting on makeup, helping her under the disguise of business without her knowing and over analyzing every little detail she notices. man is in love and can’t even tell

Is it explained why song mo’s father hates him so much? I am on 22 episode and without proper explanation it is getting way too ridiculous. Initially I thought he didn’t want his children suppressing him but seeing how he supports second son that doesn’t seem to be the case. Did I miss some important key detail or is it explained eventually at the end of the series?

that’s a good point I forgot that his character is playing pretend. Maybe the anxiousness and fakeness I feel from him will make sense later in the drama. if that is true then it wil be fun to see how it plays out

I haven’t seen Chinese opera but yeah it’s his movements pauses and delivery of some lines that makes me feel weird. In some scenes it feels like he isn’t really acting but in a bad way. I haven’t felt this complicated about someone’s acting before😀

I like the drama so far but li xian’s acting seems weird in this one. I can’t really put my finger on what’s really wrong it just feels off to me.I really liked him in in will love spring he was decent in meet yourself but here he is almost trying too hard? I don’t know. His character reminds me of ML from my dearest so I might be unconsciously comparing the two. He has a good chemistry with the FL though I will give him that. Playful extroverted characters aren’t his forte I fear
