I watched this right after finishing The Story of Ming Lan bc I had Gu TingYe withdrawls & realized William Feng was the lead in this too (with my fave Ariel Lin). This was really good except that I hateee that guy dubber w/ the semi-robotic voice who did William's character: It just seemed mismatched & bugged me bc I love his deep voice ;( Also Idk if it's bc I'm used to the insane chemistry between Ariel & Joe Cheng but her & William seemed mehh imo.. Like I almost wanna say her & Daniel had more chemistry /: (But I think if they made Prince LanLing have Gu TingYe's personality, sparks would've flown lol) And I also wanna give props to that female rival Zheng Er; I've never come across a more self-persevering villain who just never gives up even after hitting rock bottom.... multiple times ._. She was, in a sense, inspiring lol

I've never watched a more self-aware & cunning drama like wowww... I'm floored & in a sense still mad that this drama outsmarted me lmaooo it's a refreshing experience & a must-watch especially for Gu TingYe's character.. yow was he hot or what :p
