Her original body WAS KILLED. I don't even know why you're complaining about a misunderstanding when you're only 4 episodes in. There are bounds to be so much misunderstanding because there a literal face swap in the drama. Y'all are just yapping to yap.

It's in episode 8. FL and ML tries to track down and find out the murders happening were all connected. FL realizes that all this time, ML was trying to figure out who murdered her by being a magistrate in Heyang.

Don't mind the ratings. It's being bombarded by JJY haters. I can tell you that netizens love the drama. It's been getting positive reviews so far.

If anyone wanna see it, it's around 51 seconds into the opening.

I paid attention this time around to the intro and I found the part where they showed the token of the Big Bad Wolf (Water Ripple Clan). It's not exactly just water rippling, it looks more like an outline of a ram? With giant horns. Not sure if there's a meaning behind that. There's also nine pieces of it (the middle one being bigger among the others), so they might need to figure out where the other eight are.

That other guy that adviced Jiang not to cross with Relief Hall definitely gives off a weird vibe. He's either a spy for Gu Yong or he's trying to keep Jiang from making a mess that would put him against the Ripple Clan.

This drama is really exciting! You don't know where it's going!

I also felt so happy that the ‘abuse’ clue came to me just before Pan Yue confirmed it. It felt like I was solving the crime with them. THIS is how you make an immersive mystery drama!

Their blood really boils when Ju Jingyi gets a praise. I mean, villain!Shangguan Zhi was the #Moment.

Also, to add, SGZ was in a coma for an entire month. She almost died from the ‘bandit attack’. SGZ was also believed to have tried committing sewerside, based on the letter she sent to her brother. This near death experience made her “realize some things” and that's why it's easy for people to think that she's turning a new leaf. It's a common concept to people, even back in the day. (A common trope to villainesses in isekai-type of media, if that's your thing.) That's why it's easy for those in drama to believe SGZ is hiding nothing. She never tried showing that she's someone else, unless she wants them to see her true identity.

Reasons as to why Pan Yue and SGZ would take time to be together or find out the swap:
1. As per Ling and Ze's conversation, PY thought that the reason why there were similarities between YCW and SGZ is because the latter was trying to emulate YCW to cater to PY's taste. (Even SGZ makes sure that she reminds Ling of this everytime she goes out with PY to solve cases.)
2. SGZ is convinced that PY would get implicated again if she ever reveals her identity to him. After hearing that Pan Yue decided to leave his family to marry her, she decides that it would be best that he stays with the princess instead because being with her might ruin his life even more.
3. Before 1 and 2 happened, in the boat scene where PY was thinking that SGZ was YCW, there were flashbacks of his dad telling him that meeting YCW again would result to her demise, and it became true because it was PY's fault that she's dead; the Yangs are still targeted by the imperial family and the Ripple Clan. YCW's resurgence had the enemies scrambling so they had to get rid of her. Her fate was sealed, her death was just delayed.
3.1. With this in mind, if YCW was indeed SGZ, PY fears that she might die again— and for good this time around. This would lead to more angst. Noble cause, the idea of letting your love one go to ensure their safety (he thought of this in that scene, too, if I remember correctly). And much like PY, SGZ is aware that her being alive would put PY in danger, too, because her family is dead and now, he's being targeted by everyone else. The princess is the only person powerful enough to protect him.
4. PY never took notice of SGZ pre-swapping. So, in the boat scene, he's surprised by this other side of her that he does not know of. SGZ retaliates that it's because he did not trust her enough to be a good person indicates that she's the 'real' SGZ to PY, not YCW. What she's showing is how hardworking SGZ can be just to garner someone's favor (re: making herself pretty for him to better 'fit his taste'). This brings us back to point 1.
5. SGZ never indicated that she is someone else sans Jiang, BXS and her master. Face swapping doesn't look that common, it could be most likely some forbidden art. So, the chances of SGZ being YCW is slim to none to PY. He thinks he's still mourning, that's why he's 'hallucinating' seeing his dead wife.

So, unless they find a way to remove the big bad, the royal family and this princess-Pan Yue farce, SGZ and PY would remain workmates bound to fall in love, but also not due to the dangers in their lives. I hope that helps!


(P.S. why is my brain convincing me that the big bad is YCW dad? I feel icky about it, but I must be having troubles knowing who's who like Pan Yue. LMAO.)

Based from the opening, it looks like BXS is gonna pine for Jiang. Even their interactions seem like it's BXS who falls in love first. I see the vision of them ending up tgt, though. For now, I'll just enjoy Jiang being a huge puppy to SZ before PY decides to reclaim his wife. HAHAHA.

Jiang's expression was so cute when SZ thought that he only came at the yamen to let PY know she's protected by the SRT. I love PY x SZ but, you have to admit, the chemistry with him and SZ is so freaking adorable. T T I wish he remains loyal to her until the very end.

It was so heavy I had goosebumps on my arms while watching it.

Oh, my! That crabapple hairpin scene at the store is so tense in EP6. SZ almost made me believe that PY is capable of stabbing her like he had done so to YCW in her imagination. I feared for her life the whole time. HAHAHAHA. They've really outdone themselves in this drama! The acting goes so crazy.

Can I just say that I want more Shangguan Zhi scenes? We could've had more of her if they didn't focus too much on the OG Cai Wei on the first episode.

1. nope! the couple was promised to each other when they were kids. sadly, they got separated but eventually decided to go through the marriage. complications kept them away from each other again, though.

2. ml is pretty smart and cunning in a subtle way. a good balance between being mysterious and funny.

It's a soul swap, not a face swap. Think Alchemy of Souls, for example.

I recommend you watch Ancient Love Poetry because he was such a funny character in there. Definitely gave a shock to those who watched L&D but that's also the reason why he became everyone's favorite on ALP.

Yeah. I feel like the pouch could be an evidence, though, since the brother confirmed that he loved his sister so much. He's willing to do anything for her— that maybe he wouldn't think twice about committing murder.

Also, considering that the first episode had a foreshadowing about evil spirits, it can't be a coincidence that the person SZ called for the swapping knows of dark magic/witchcraft. A face swap can't be done THAT fast (5 days) without leaving some type of scar. Even during the ending of EP2, we can see that YCW's face during the wedding remains unblemished, save for the scar she already has. Besides the dust and dirt on SZ's face, there was no blood on her dress when she woke up from that cliff, too. Also, Ghost Market? There's definitely some sorcery going on Heyang that soul swapping is a thing, not just face swap. I hope they tackle that subject soon.
