finished it reluctantly, was rather disappointed. Just can't find that situation redeeming and easy to forgive. there will be trust issues forever.

Title Pyramid Game
Jang Daa acting isn’t even bad but omg her facial expressions??? she doesn’t have any it’s a bit awkward…
kinda the point of her character. To keep the composed, proper and demure aspects of her wealthy family exterior, and not expose her pycho side. She kept a poker face, while also being very calculating and vindictive. Meets the chilling aspect that you can't for sure know what she is cooking in her head.

episode 1 was great. reminded me of the movie Hard Candy.

episode 2 and 3 are kinda downhill for me though. .. in the first episode, she actually exposes people who are corrupt... but from episode 2 and 3, she's actually egging on and making sure her targets do something wrong. misleading them down the wrong path on purpose. The thought of jealousy does not make you a bad person, but her pushing them into doing something bad makes nanno the bad person.

Also thought it weird to expose how she's clearly not human so early in episode 2... would have been more mysterious if that was revealed later on. Which I guess would make your head spin even more if you find this news later in the season.

And did episode 3 really end with her not achieving her goal., or was it that the livestream would have done that anyway. Girl was clearly under duress and the adults look as though they pushed her to do it.

watching this rn on Netflix but its really bothering me that in come scenes the FL's ex head is cut off and in…
shot that way to make him look like a creep, gives you that perspective that he looks down on her, that she can't look him in the eye.

Lmao people mad at jae eon should introduce themselve to naoki irie from ita kiss that guy is bigger jerk than…
Naoki was a flawed character in which he struggled to express his feelings. But through out the drama, you can see his devopment and softer side, and why he struggled. A good character, will at least show some development in changing and improving on their flaws by the end of the series, to show that in a relationship, sometimes you have to meet the person halfway. Naoki wasn't manipulating, he was just insecure in expressing himself.

Jae Eon just wanted to flirt and make his obession look at him with lust so he could control her. iono what is so special about that. He saw a sexual abused woman, who was showcased in a ccompromising way to the public, and saw that as his end goal. To get her to be his sexual play toy. He was no better than the ex for treating her like a sexual object.

*barf*

Glorifying emotional manipulation. There was nothing redeeming about the main characters, and the last episodes paints them in the light of returning to their cycle of abuse like it's a good thing.

So she realized he first saw her when she was being abused by her ex, and showcased as a sexual object in front of others while the guy kept her on a leash with other woman on the side.... so Jae Eon does THE EXACT SAME THING!! She just keeps seeing men that only want her for their own sexual play things that they can manipulate by starring into their eyes and saying useless sweet words to them so they put out.

They paint him as not liking 'clingy' women, but he was so damn clingy himself. Like, he would not leave her alone. Constantly showing up to manipulate her, chase other men away, and keep a leash on her.

There was never any explanation into his background, to even give a hint as to why he could possibly be so messed up in the head. Just that he was a manipulative jerk, and thats all as a viewer we are meant to know of him. No reason behind it whatsoever.

Sure sure, it was more true to life. People really do get stuck in these emotionally manipulative toxic relationships and keep repeating these same cycles of abuse over and over. But why glorify it? why not teach women to be strong enough to break out of it and walk away. Na Bi was garbage for going back to him when he was never going to respect her.

The side characters had better stories.

wow, this one made my skin crawl. The amount of obsessive and manipulative lines, and what their 'relationship' was based on seemed more like abuse. I've seen these actors in other dramas, so I know that they have been a part of better works, but the writing and concept for this was just wrong. However, the coffee/vanilla title is very appropriate. Also, Sakurada Dori making my skin crawl at the same time looking as hot as he is, whew.

ah, this was the nightmare of variety shows. The challenges were outlandish and scary. I feared for their safety, rather than finding the challenges fun. Then when ratings went down because of all the horrible things they were forced to do, they tried to throw in another MC to "make it better" - but instead it was just awkward seeing the two MC's passive aggressive behavior.

Then the format changed because there were so many complaints about how dangerous the challenges were, and how they wouldn't let them fly back home.

Watching them on the diving board at the pool, and you can see Hyun Joong was hurt when he hit his face, but they continued to film like nothing happened.

I was glad it started to turn more into an eating show, but I couldn't watch anymore.

This is a great action/scifi flick. Ah, the car flying out of the building had me screaming "YES, ridiculous over the top action movie stunts, whoohoo!" I also loved Kim Sang Ho as a inept criminal boss, he was hilarious. I'd watch this again, it's great.
What I've noticed about many j-drama/manga/anime characters, is that they exaggerate personality traits. This is a classic Tsundere vs Prince character trope. The Tsundere is known to be initially cold and hostile, but you eventually start to see the warm softer side to them. While I feel that the character of the Black Demon is highly exaggerated, it's not completely off base to normal S&M. There are plenty of people in the world who get their kicks from the push and pull of empowerment with their significant other. There are many healthy relationships that follow that format. Granted, it's not for everyone, and you have to be able to discern a healthy relationship over an abusive one. (Just think how many people went out and bought Fifty Shades of Grey, that book was a huge seller. I haven't even read it, but millions of people loved it). So people who get angry over this character being mean to her, need to learn a little about the world. She started off not being able to look people in the eye, and slinking her body low because she felt inferior. Later, she is able to stand up straight and speak her mind. That change in her could be because someone was building her up, and protecting her in their own way.

I don't know, I just don't like when people write off a story and don't really bother to delve into the character development, and try to discern why they act the way they do.
On Kuzu no Honkai Jul 13, 2017
mistakes were made! Actually really enjoyed this one. Each character acts out all their internal emotions in some rather tragic ways, yet in the end, they learn from the mistakes the hard way and stand stronger on their own. It's frustrating to see them trying to rationalize these mistakes over and over. But these are emotional struggles that most people can relate to, albeit most would deal with it internally, rather than acting on these emotions.

I think that was the saddest zombie thriller i've ever seen. Didn't know i'd need a box of tissues to finish it.
in the beginning when you can hear the audio from the candle flames, I wondered if they were doing some artsy aesthetic and there would be a point to hearing the flames licking. But then later on, it had no relevance, and I realized that the lazy boom mic guy just doesn't know where to hold the damn boom mic. Yo sound guy, get the boom mic off the flames!

There better be a season 3! So many loose ends. The wooden box, the fate of ting hao, the list goes on.... I enjoyed the season, there were a few flaws, but it wasn't anything major. The biggest annoyance is the overuse of the product placements. holy cow, how many shots can they get those sponsor items in? I doubt Chang Wook will be in season 3, because of his military service ):

the horror didn't bother me, but the plot holes did. How did the woman make a trap for the demon? She told that bad shaman to go away instead of entering this so called trap. The other demon didn't go into the trap, and how was the 3rd rooster crow going to change his family from not being murdered? Was the shaman and the Japanese man working together, or not? One did attempt to kill the other? Was the woman the bad one? I don't know. I was left with more questions than answers.
EDIT: read the explanation which answered some of my questions. But the trap still doesn't make sense.

I think this show deserves the hype. I would say that 97% of it was wonderfully done. The character development, the story lines, the humor and action scenes were well done and fun to watch. A very enjoyable show. But I wouldn't label it as 'the best drama of all time' due to that 3% that was awkwardly done. The parts that kinda threw me off and made me wonder why. The end made me feel like they got to that point in the show, and nearly forgot that they wanted to wrap up that couple's story line, so they threw in that ending. Except, they didn't invite that couple to be part of the shooting in that scene. Yeah okay, so their story wasn't really fleshed out very well, i'll let that slide. The other stories were wonderful to watch, and a few awkward moments in the show shouldn't deter you from enjoying the show as a whole.
