I looked through the recent comments here, but I don't see an issue? No one is trying to discredit this drama…
I added the * after my initial comment because I scrolled further down and saw the comment. ^^ I agree with your reasoning for that /specific/ comment, but not the rest.
You talk about others trying to discredit TPR, but aren't you doing the same thing with The Double? You called it "not-so-good" and only popular because of "buying lots of hot search", which is clearly an attempt to discredit the hard work of that team. People are free to have their own opinions, but it seems hypocritical to complain about it & then insult another drama in the same paragraph.
This website is a database for dramas. People find new dramas from other dramas. It seems pretty normal to reference other dramas in comment sections, especially after something has just finished airing. It is not unique to TPR & is not a malicious attempt at discrediting their hard work.
Some of The Double fans in the comments are annoying. I don't care what you're all watching before watching TPR.…
I looked through the recent comments here, but I don't see an issue? No one is trying to discredit this drama π They're just looking for something else to watch.. no reason to be so hostile. *found the comment you're probably talking about, but that is just a single comment among the many others talking about how they're looking forward to it, lol.
I kinda feel bad for Wanning, especially after I know about her past in Dai country.I still hate Shen Yurong until…
I also felt the last 30 mins was meh. I think the main problem comes from trying to stay "true to the novel" to a certain extent. They want to include specific details from the novel, but they don't include the buildup /for/ that moment, so it turns out seeming weird. I think this has happened quite a few times in this drama.
I feel like this drama could have done well with two seasons. They'd have more time to flesh everything out instead of cutting and editing like crazy, but I also get the impression they weren't expecting this drama to do so well... so no reason to invest in two seasons.
about WN's pregnancy: SYR did research and found the herb that XFF used on her. iirc he had suspicions because…
SYR & WN's relationship was the biggest question for me π I really wanted to know more of the motives behind it, how exactly it developed, etc. I'm actually pretty bummed that they chose not to elaborate any further.

Because the timing of everything was too perfect. His exact line was "The things happening recently seem to be pushed forward by somebody in the background". The rumors about her pregnancy started almost immediately, despite the fact that there was realistically no one who could have leaked it (SYR even says they "started in the street", implying the rumors did not come from the palace). The rumors also specified that it was SYR's child, so the person who started them had to have known a.) about SYR & WN's relationship and b.) about the pregnancy. Think about it: how else would someone get this information, if not being involved in it themselves? I think it makes sense for SYR to be suspicious.
I'm not calling it a good explanation by any means, but it directly addresses the problem. I don't expect too much from c-drama logic, so I wasn't really bothered by it compared to some other issues. ^^
Also, yes, I also don't think there was any indication that he knew about her past. If I had to guess at that last part, I assume because she was under the care of the Li family, so it would be easy for her to lie and say that they had mistreated her in some way. WN lost some of her edge near the end, but we can't forget how crazy & irrational she is.
The last set of episodes for this drama were rather disappointing in my view. It was always mostly enjoyable,…

Same here.It is my first historical c-drama ever. I am AWESTRUCK o-O
yeah, I'm not a fan of Esther either, so I didn't like My Journey To You very much π I also didn't care for Zhang Ling He until I watched Kunning Palace, so he converted me..
i was planning to watch this but i got spoiled with the endingππ
personally, i don't think spoilers should make you reluctant to watch a show. it's about the journey. if the show is good, spoilers won't ruin the experience ^^
