This movie was freakin awesome! Surprisingly, it's from an american mini-serie! Han Hyo Joo what a beauty!
Oh interesting, I didn't know that! I'll definitely look for the American version~

I absolutely loved this film! I felt within the first 2 minutes that it was something special. I was really impressed by the acting, direction, cinematography, and overall atmosphere~

If anyone can recommend anything similar, please do!! Doesn't have to be fantasy, but that would be a plus since the fantasy aspect of Beauty Inside certainly made it unique and interesting. I can't get over how much I enjoyed this! ❤

Saw this at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Not my favourite, despite that I love the actors, but the cinematography was gorgeous and it certainly is unique!

It feels like it's been a while since I've enjoyed a good jdrama so I wasn't expecting anything much from this (partly because Nakama Yukie isn't always the easiest to watch), but I'm so glad I decided to give this a chance! It's very character driven and delves into a range of different human stories that really shape the landscape of the show, rather than seeming like tacked on side stories. Character development is great, and the show has this way of making you root for certain characters to succeed. Watching Sakisaka (Machida) grow as a person and foster his talent as an actor is one of the main things that kept me coming back week after week. The interactions between him and Sawatari (Nakama) are also interesting to watch.

It's a shame this hasn't been subbed in English yet but if it ever is, or if you can get by watching it raw or with Chinese subs (links to both in previous comments below), I recommend giving it a try~

On Parasyte: Part 1 Aug 17, 2015
As a fan of the manga and anime, this was a great watch! And I think it can be appreciated by people new to the story as well. Part 2 doesn't seem to be available online yet, but I'm hoping it will be soon because I just watched the live action version of Attack on Titan and it was nowhere NEAR as good as this movie! I'm looking forward to the Parasyte sequel, so it can help to erase my memory of the travesty that is the AoT movie lol! This adaptation doesn't follow the manga and anime to the letter, but it still tells a good story and I can appreciate it even more now that I've seen another anime/manga favourite being adapted so poorly in comparison to this.

This was terrible. Even the poor reviews and dissatisfied comments couldn't prepare me for how bad it was. (and I love the source material!)

Great movie!! I can't believe this doesn't have more ratings and reviews. I was very impressed by the atmosphere, storyline, and acting. There were a lot of unanswered questions right from the get-go, which could be off-putting if not done right, but somehow I quickly became invested and wanted to discover (alongside the characters) exactly what was going on. An intriguing concept very well done!

Absolutely. Glad to hear he's now in a position to provide that much needed sensitive and supportive presence in his community when victims seek the help of police. Really admirable~

Oh my goodness, that's awful! It's sickening to think that a mother could do such a thing to her own children, and just plain frustrating that victims are left powerless or even further victimized (i.e. faced with skepticism) when they ask for help. It's true that sometimes there isn't enough evidence to press charges, especially if victims delay reporting an attack, but I wish more authority figures were appropriately sensitive to abuse victims. Very sad. I hope your brother's friend and his sister have been able to find the support they need! :(

Definitely agreed on Marriage, Not Dating and Nodame! And I have to second a previous comment: Kisarazu Cat's Eye is hilarious!! It's one of my favourite Japanese dramas along with Tiger & Dragon, and both are from the same great writer (Kudo Kankuro).

A Korean drama to add to the list is the recent Ho Goo's Love; it surprised me with how many laugh out loud, sweet, and heartwarming moments it had! There's some great physical comedy from the cast, especially Choi Woo Sik.

Yesss, Kizarazu Cat's Eye is one of my favourites too! Tiger & Dragon is also right up there~ Kudo Kankuro is a great comedy writer, plus Okada Junichi and the rest of the cast in each drama are hilarious!

Title Flower Boy Ramen Shop Spoiler
I've loved tvN dramas like Witch's Romance, High School King of Savvy, and most recently, Ho Goo's Love, so I decided to watch this drama since there's a lot of hype for it being one of "the best" the network has to offer. Unfortunately, this did not live up to the hype for me. I did enjoy some of the silly and humorous scenes, and there was some sweetness between the main leads, but the drama was overall very silly, unrealistic (in terms of the story developments with Chairman Cha), and lacking in chemistry.

Jung Il Woo gave it his all in the kiss scenes, but leading lady Lee Chung Ah didn't even meet him halfway; she was pretty much inactive in all the kisses, including the kiss her character initiates towards the end which was your run-of-the-mill inactive lip press. Perhaps not as bad as Park Shin Hye's worst kisses, but definitely around that level. People who praise this drama love to say it has the best kisses but I imagine they are mostly female fans who looked only at the male lead. If you look at both leads, which you should since truly convincing chemistry requires reciprocation, it just isn't there. Add to that the unsatisfactory ending, and I just don't get the hype. I didn't have high expectations, but I'm still fairly disappointed. :/

Title Ho Goo's Love Spoiler
It's official: I love Ho Goo!! He's such a well-rounded character, and I was really impressed with him in the finale! The writers and entire cast have my utmost respect for portraying such a great story and characters. I loved the cast (even the villainous director and Kyung Woo were cast perfectly, because I was creeped out and disgusted by both of them) and I loved all the main characters and side characters. This drama has some of the best friend and parent characters I've ever seen~! We didn't get justice for Do Hee, but what was shown was (sadly) very realistic and didn't take away from the feel-good ending. (Can I just say, I wanted to throttle that police officer who was questioning Do Hee...!! It's so terrible that officers in S.Korea, and likely other countries, really do say things like that to rape victims.)

I think this is one of the few shows I will watch again, and I'll probably even re-watch the final episode tomorrow because there were so many scenes--especially in the first half--that I had to rewind because I enjoyed them so much lol! Kang Chul and Ho Goo's fight was hilarious, oh my goodness haha~ Sooooo glad I watched this!!
