This was so much better than expected, especially considering that it's a TV special rather than a theatrical release. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I figured out who the culprit was before the big reveal but it was still interesting and shocking to hear the full, disturbing details, and the climax was really thrilling overall.
I have to say, I teared up during the flashback scene when Himekawa was testifying in court. I didn't expect to get emotional--I rarely cry during dramas or movies--but the shot of the police showing their respect was so touching. Definitely really interested in and moved by Himekawa's character! I watched episode 1 of the drama before seeing this special (didn't realize this existed until I checked MDL later), but I enjoyed what I saw and I think I'll enjoy the rest of the episodes that much more now~ So good!
This can't even compare to My P.S. Partner,, and even the ratings show that. This was really boring compared to…
Thank you! I love My PS Partner (and recently re-watched it) but, even though this is in the same realm of sex-themed romantic comedy, it's nowhere near as good. In fact, I couldn't get through the movie in one sitting... and when I finally went back to finish it, I still couldn't bring myself to like the female lead. She was just unreasonably silly and I found her attitude obnoxious and unlikeable rather than funny or cute.
I agree on the violence and I'll add that I also wish there wasn't so much manhandling in Korean movies and dramas being passed off as romantic, which we also saw in this movie... That first kiss scene bothered me a bit because he yanked her pretty roughly and then she was struggling at first too. Bleh.

You are welcome to your opinion, and I respect that you dislike and have dropped the show, but I can't understand why you have submitted a review and rating when you have only viewed 2 (and a half) out of 11 episodes. The show isn't finished airing and shouldn't be given an overall rating before it is even halfway through, in my opinion.
Each episode can be reviewed and rated separately, so your review belongs on episode 2 or 3 as it only addresses the drama up to that point. As an overall review--which it cannot be, since you have not viewed the show in its entirety--it is unhelpful. (So far, about 95% of the people who've rated your review agree with me...) I'm not trying to be rude or discount your opinion (I'm actually not a fan of Fukada Kyoko's acting either, and never have been), but this review is in the wrong place. :/
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did, so I'm pleasantly surprised! I like Tanihara Shousuke but his projects are often hit or miss.
Anyway, my interpretation of the ending is that Kouki did indeed lose his memories (thankfully he wasn't paralysed!) but still fell for Rio again. When he comes back to the station, he starts to say "moshi yokattara..." and "meiwaku de nakattara..." which was translated to "I was wondering..." and "That is, if I may..." in the subtitled version I saw. Those lines can also be translated as "if you don't mind..." and "if it's not a bother..."/"if it's not inconvenient..." and are usually followed by an invitation to go on a date or a request for contact information, so it's implied that he was about to ask Rio out. I think he hasn't consciously remembered her but the ending suggests that he will fall in love with her all over again, which is sweet~ The fact that he came back to talk to her confirmed that he was still drawn to her even though he has amnesia. After that hug, I wonder if she will reveal to him that they already know each other...!
Does anyone know where to watch this? Viki has the compiled movie version but it's dubbed in Indonesian (I believe) and not subtitled besides... I would love to find the original Japanese raw version! Thanks in advance~
