5 episodes in and this girl has been shoved down a mine shaft, drugged and kidnapped, and then poisoned and a put in a coma... and this is without mentioning what's befallen her and her family thanks to the meddling of Ming Xia's mother. The previews in the trailer and opening/ending sequences hint at Qing Cheng being a strong and intriguing character, but she's mostly been been a naive damsel in distress thus far lol!
With 30 episodes to go, I'm starting to doubt my ability to hang on until her character develops to the point where she can save herself and/or do more fantasy-themed badassery. ;P I know her demon side has yet to fully awaken, so I see the potential, but I'm disappointed by the events of the last few episodes. The number of times she's been in peril and needed someone to rescue her is pretty ridiculous, especially this early on in the series.
I think the story is getting better in ep2. Mirei's also toned down her over-the-top acting. Kento's easily pulled…
So true! And I completely agree with you about the male leads. I've seen Miura once before, in Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai, but I'm still not quite sure whether or not I like his acting... In this, Yamazaki and Nomura are outshining him thus far.

I wish Kiritani would tone it down even more lol! She's cringe worthy at times, but her more subdued scenes actually showcase believable acting. The difference is kinda jarring; the show would benefit if she would just rein it in a bit more in certain scenes... keeping the comedic element but adding more restraint and realism.
Yamazaki is the main reason for me to continue watching, so long as his character is fleshed out more each episode like you said. I see the potential!
Same here. Her mannerisms and expressions are unrealistically over-the-top. The first 10 minutes of episode 2 made me cringe so much, I had to stop watching lol! Not sure if I can continue.
Wow, incredible first episode! I hope it'll be this good all the way through. Love Han Hyo Joo~ Also, it's nice to see a female doctor in a Kdrama who doesn't wear ridiculous sky-high heels at work lol!
I loved Marriage, Not Dating but I can't get myself to finish this series :( AMO isn't nearly as funny or intriguing…
You guys got farther than I did lol! I stalled at episode 12 and every time I think about going back to finish it, I'm reminded of how laggy and melodramatic the story had become before I dropped off... the thought of getting through a further 6 episodes is so daunting. I dunno if I can do that to myself. :/
Agreed, Marriage, Not Dating was definitely a great series! I think it had a great balance of drama and comedy, and the format made things more interesting too. A lot of people are praising the acting in Another Miss Oh and rating the show highly based on that aspect alone but, while I can agree that the acting is overall stellar, it hasn't been enough to make me overlook the dragging story and melodrama. I love Eric and the passion he has with his leading ladies, but not enough to justify continuing to watch this. Sorry Eric!
I'm so tired of Poong Yeon. C'mon dude, you know Hong Joo is manipulative and dangerous! I don't really understand…
@yoorin21> So true! What Poong Yeon feels is obsession, not love. And I agree, the acting has been great but the plot is dragging too much. Hopefully the conclusion will be decent, but the series has already been frustrating to watch for the past few weeks so it's totally understandable if some people drop the show. Such a shame, because it started off so well!
@debis > Yeahh agreed. I didn't dislike PY at first, but now I really can't stand him haha~ He's so frustrating to watch. But I completely agree about the humanity of other characters on this show, especially the queen! She could have easily been a villainous character throughout the series, but now she's owning her mistakes and trying to redeem herself.
@gottcha78> Ohh that's a good point about second leads! I can see that happening but I wonder if it really will...! On the flip side, if it really is Heo Jun whose sacrifice will light the last candle, I hope he doesn't have to die...! He's already been in a few death-defying situations so maybe he'll survive. I'm crossing my fingers that he will!
I'm so tired of Poong Yeon. C'mon dude, you know Hong Joo is manipulative and dangerous! I don't really understand the desperation he feels to make Yeon Hui love him... he doesn't seem to care about her at all, only himself and his perceptions of her. Anyway, seems like Hong Joo has her ace in the hole now; she'll incite him to use his (inherited?) ability to summon holy fire to get rid of the princess. Something will get in the way--because we have too many episodes left for her to meet her demise in episode 15 (of 20!)--but Poong Yeon seems to be the only person Hong Joo has left to kill Yeon Hui for her.
Now that the series has been extended, I'm a little afraid of how they're going to drag this out... But I'm in too deep so I have to finish the series lol! Let's hope it ends well~!
Actually... I feel disappointed at the plot twist. I expected the show to fully make it as Do-kyung's fault and…
I hope that's true, Faith! But even so, and if I manage to stick it out till the end, I think the heavy doses of melodrama will keep the rewatch value very low for me... kinda like Que Sera Sera, I suppose (which is fitting, since that's another drama where Eric plays the lead). Let's see how things progress!

Fully agreed! I feel like the show has been turning up the melodrama more and more in the past few episodes, but this one was definitely full-out melodramatic, as you said. For the most part, melodramas aren't my thing so I'm nearly at the point where I regret picking up this show. The acting is good but there is just way too much crying and the plot is starting to lose me.
Thank you for writing this! I got a little more than halfway through the show and had to put it on hold because of precisely what you described: Chef was falling in love with Soon Ae and not Bong Sun. There have already been so many moments Soon Ae could (and should) have left Bong Sun's body and allowed her to experience the many relationship firsts and tender moments... Bong Sun was robbed of too much. Glad to know I'm not the only one bothered by that! I may eventually finish watching the drama, but I think I'll share your opinion on the romance aspect of it.
The acting so far (in the first two episodes) is quite realistic, and the quality is better than I expected. I'm very intrigued! I find myself wanting to know more about the leads. And I was so surprised to see Mummy-D! He's a decent actor, for sure. If things continue like this, I'll definitely be watching the series till the end~
