No actor can turn a minnow into a whale. That's up to the writer and director. I think Pod and Khao did what they could with what they were given. With Tiptop and Mike's over the top take on the whole thing, I think they were trying to encourage a more comedic direction. The director should have picked up on where they were going and followed. The end was really cringe. It's a shame. Bringing Na back for a sweet moment was nice. I'm sure Neo was able to get a good dinner out of it.
With a whole new cast the reboot from the beginning to get to where Phan slugs Park will take 8 episodes. They can't start a whole new cast 2 thirds of the way through the story. Will anyone watch it?
Maybe it's just me, but I'd swear Sang Sang is eating a pepperoni and cheese pizza near the end of EP 18. Is that something Marco Polo brought back from China? In fact, pizza was invented in the United States.

I hope I can find out what "hemp rope" means in colloquial Thai. I've discovered that there are a lot of "hidden" meanings in Thai phrases. Some people writing subtitles include explanations of the real meaning as opposed to the actual meaning.
One thing I'm not sure a lot of viewers get is the social difference in the younger LGBT+ community in Phuket vs. Bangkok. Phuket is very provincial. This goes a long way to explaining Teh's behavior, which some viewers found problematic. It really isn't if you understand the situation he's been brought up in. Even Oh is has a problem when Bas grabs his hand in the street. Bas is much more comfortable than either of the others with his sexuality. There are a number of articles you can find via Google that go into detail on what it's like living in the Thai country side vs. living in Bangkok.
