There is so much story left to be told, i think it's more, let's not skip over so many important things. If it was only 16, there would be 6 episodes left and Yi San has not become king yet. There is lots of things left to be shown, i think it's just right that they add an extra episode
I know I am in the minority here but I like the earlier episodes were better because there was more couple time.…
You are right there was more couple time in the begining. However this rebellion phase is important in the storyline. The king will also have to die so that we can get to Yi san becoming the king. And only after that it will focus more on the couple, that’s how i see it
Wow I know it has finishes airing, but now I am going to start watching it as my exams are going to end. Its good…
The official concubines were called royal consorts. The king had the right to have a queen and several concubines. So they were all his spouses. However the queen was the official wife, and they would be placed near eachother’s tomb when they died. The term is all up to how it is translated in english. Cause in korean each concubine had a specific rank. The female lead will become a concubine, her official rank was ui bin, in english that would be royal noble consort ui bin. If you feel confused about the ranks, you can try and read a bit on the wikipedia page of the actual historical king yi san, and you’ll see all the ranks there.
Ok you know what, I’ve thought about it and I’m fine with all the politics if they are together (not even…
I don’t think there will be any breakup. It will probably just be her refusing him until she finally accepts to become a concubine. And then there will be happy together. Then it depends on how they make the ending
Its based on a novel and I read that in the novel also the king was very possessive and selfish when it came to…
Yes, all this. If he was a real jerk, he would have forced himself upon her without asking for her permission. But he didn't he still waited for her to say yes.
I'm really not vibing with San choking her... :( and to be honest, this gives me bad foreshadowing vibes about…
It's not going to go down that route, because we already know what happened in history. I think that scene was in a way important for deok im, in a way that she was starting to get too casual with San, while she is basically a slave in the palace and San being her master, she wanted to have her own will and feelings. Which was pretty much unheard of back then. As San said, her life depends on his will. If she wants to live, she will have to make sure to follow San's every order and be loyal to him only.
Sure, now that we are looking back, it's a horrible thing and we would want anyone to have freedom of choice. But back then that was the norm...
Based on historical record she becomes his consort in September of 1782 and gave birth to their son a month later.…
If the king sleeps with a court lady she becomes a consort automatically (i think there is a specific term for them, it’s a lower rank if they just spend one night with the king. They need to be aknowleged by the queen/court as well to be given a proper consort rank). If they are really loved by the king and even conceive a child they will rise in rank
For those that are wondering how much of this is factual, only a little of it is! While it is true that doek im…
I mean, the other Yi San drama is also loosely based on the facts, they added a ton of things to the real story. Like making Deok Im a painter when she was a court maid in real life. And lots of stuff that were added just to complete the story with her as a painter.
Yihyun and Saebom are the dumbest, most annoying main leads ever. They aren't cops, they aren't playing good cop,…
I fail to undertand how after evverything that happened these episodes, you see the main leads as the real dumb and annoying characters.. I guess you skipped the parts when a guy killed his wife, then after the lockdowwn started, he gave money to people in order to risk their lives and check outside the apartment. And now he found the pills and wanted to infect all the people. I guess he does not exist, he is not an asshole. Same with the "residents representative" that is only thinking about her position, little does she care about other people. Give me a break
Y’all saying that the bridge scene with deok ro and deokim is creepy but have y’all considered how creepy…
Now i really wonder what they will do when they'll present dokro's sister as a concubine. Cause if they keep the actrees the same it will be just like in history, she was 13 when she was made concubine and died a year later. I doubt that they will make any weird scene between her and Yi San. In the other drama she was portrayed way older.
What han tae seok forgot about is she is SOU member which force trained for such kind of special situation. A…
I mean no matter how much she trained, a shot of tranqualizer will put her to sleep. Lions and tigers are feroceos but they still get put to sleep with it. What i am thinking is that she is imune to the disease because she has a disfunction in her brain, that's why she had surgery before. This might be why she is imune to the tranqualizer and doesn't get scared. she just seems so calm throughout the show.
I think since they focused on Yi-San/Doek-I’m relationship and how that relationship helped him find relief…
The FL mentioned in interviews that she had to portray birth and child rearing in the drama. So it will go further than them getting together. However, they might just make the ending really romantic. Not showing the actual death but make a metaphor, of them walking over a field or something while the king reads the epitaph he wrote for her.
The plot does goes in that direction. Good judgement there. She is keeping her actual current relation a secret…
I really thought this drama will be something interesting. But it's just stupidity after stupidity. The FL not telling the parents the reason why she wants to break up with him, her again taking wedding pics even though according to her they broke up but nobody else knows.... she is supposed to be this really smart and independent woman, what is she doing?
The drama keeps giving us these cute romantic moments in the ending credits, but it's like they keep swinging cheese in front of you but grabbing it back and eating it in front of you. That's what i want to see, why do i have to stand through 20 episodes of really bad writing and annoying plot development...
